Ryan may have but it wouldn't be a big change from Satterfield as he didn't really coach anymore.

So far I have heard of 3 candidates. Jason Hammontree, John Wiggins, and Mike Black.

Despite not having a head coach the Chiefs began summer workouts today. 8th graders were in attendance so the whole team is finally together. Expecting a great season for the Chiefs.

Principal left and Satterfield was the AD.

I really hope he gets the job. But like I said earlier they will have to hire a new principal then a new AD first.

It's vital that the kids have structure and discipline. Hammontree at the helm would provide that.

Hammontree is a good young coach. 25 years old played college ball at Union College for 6 years. Coached DL at a school in KY 2 years ago then started coaching at Sequoyah last year. He has a great understanding of the defenses that work now and not 25 years ago.

The offense has looked very good in spring so I don't see a need to change there. The defense could use a bit of help and making Hammontree the head man would help that a lot.

Personally I think that Jason Hammontree should take over. Things would be done completely different and for the better.

I think they have to do it from in house. Only 3 months left and they will have to hire a principal, AD, and then a head coach.

His heart just wasn't in it anymore.

Who's next for the Chiefs? Wish he would have done this a lot sooner I figured he would at least finish out this season. But if he was going to retire why not before spring practice? Instead of putting the program in a hole once again.

Anyone know what is going on with Satterfield?

Felt the Chiefs could have played a lot better. The team is better than we ended last season with even without all the baseball players. The Chiefs should have a solid year we just have to get the defense better.

They still run the ball but it is a much more balanced attack. 50/50 run/pass

Haven't been able to make it to spring practice the past couple days. How the boys looking?

Practice went well from what I could tell. I didn't stay long because of the rain and lack of a jacket.

Spring practice begins today at 3:30. Anyone planning on coming and checking out the guys?

I encourage everyone to come out to the Lift-A-Thon this is by far and away the best Spring workouts SQHS has had.
