The one concern I have is that they are leaving way to many runners stranded on the bases. I think they will need to improve in this area in order for them to win the state.

The game came to an end when the tenth run scored. Anything after that would not have counted unless a home run was hit. But you're right 10-0 or 11-0 doesn't really matter.

Columbia Academy is a very good single A team.

I would agree they must be pretty good! If I read paper right they were 4 -1 against AA and AAA this past weekend.

I think I will wait to put them in order until the season starts, but I will say that with the departure of the Nashville privates, this classification should be wide open. The Middle Tennessee squads are always tough so I expect them to be there in the end, and I really like Trinity out of the West with eight starters back from last year. Then again, someone else could surprise everyone, hence why games are played.

CA has moved into 11a I am sure that makes the people in 12a happy but it will really make it rough on us in 11a

I think the CA catcher is as good as anyone plus she is a great hitter, I read in paper today that she has hit 5 homers this week that is awesome.

I think the coaches who really seem to work the hardest and seem to care the most could include:

Jeff Breedan of Riverdale

Terry Floyd of Coffee County

 

I may not like all of these coaches all of the time but I have to say these guys play the game with a real heart and passion and they know their game. They are true motivators and an asset to softball as well as to all the young ladies fortunate enough to play for them.

The Freshman catcher from CA cleared both fences at CSCC against Ezell Harding

Hey  Boyd Buchannon was runner up last few years to Goodpasture not champs. 

 

I saw where Columbia Academy, Ezell Harding, Lincoln County are there that is 4 good teams that I know of not sure who else.  They need Goodpasture in that group.

 

Also, Columbia Central is there with Creekwood (beat Boyd 2-1 last night after Columbia Academy's Emily Ford no-hit Boyd the first game in a 0-0 tie) Summertown is a good single A team that has probably the best team they have had in a long time. 

 

Ezell beat Culleoka 8-1

Richland lost 2-0 to Station Camp

Richland beat Zion

 

Giles County and Forrest had to drop out because of basketball.

 

Play starts this morning at 10:00 am at Columbia Academy and Columbia State and last game is scheduled for 5:30 this afternoon.

Culleoka played Summertown a good game also the Summertown Richland game was good also. Culleoka didnt fare so well against CA that was a no contest. Also the CA Ezell was a no contest last score I saw was 11- 0 not sure what it ended up. Station Camp played well so did Creekwood. This is the only games I am sure about.

A big thanks to CSCC and CA for a very good weekend there were some great games. I would say CA and Lincoln County were tops along with Boyd. Ezell, Summertown, Culleoka, Station Camp, and Zion did ok also. There were several good games plus a few home runs. It was a lot of fun. Good luck to all the teams.

Well I saw most of the games this weekend, all I can say is I am glad CA is not in 11a this year. And that Summertown better have some great ones playing basketball now or it wont even be close. CA is solid top to bottom with great pitching. I would say CA pitcher was the best one there this weekend. And there were some good ones. Ezell threw several pitchers against them and none of them could hold them down. Lincoln and Boyd also had a really good pitcher. Our Culleoka team fared well also except against CA that was a no contest. Thanks for a good weekend.

BBS tied Columbia Academy 0-0, lost to Creekwood 2-1 on Friday. Saturday BBS defeated Richland 5-2 and Ezell Harding 3-1.

Well hosted tournament and thanks to the Columbia Academy folks.

The Boyd and Columbia doubleheader at the end of April should prove to be a competitive one.

Culleoka looked better than I thought we would. But to me by far the top team was definetely CA They warped us and Ezell. Wow what a hitting team top to bottom, plus great pitching. I am sure glad they are in 12a and not 11 this year. Does anyone know how many Sr. they have?

I have heard Boyd Buchanan the state champs from the past 2 years in A ball will be here.  What other teams are competing?  Anyone know schedules of the tourney.

its definetly ca as long as emily ford is running the mound they will be good she has good speed and great control and then they have a pretty good lineup so if they can avoid injury there looking pretty good....good luck to all the teams tho

From what I saw last year this is a solid team not just one player. I agree Ford is a great pitcher but they have several very good players. Especially the young cather she may be the best I have seen.
