Possibly due to the fact that there are no other games being played at that time.  No high school games and no college football games for people to watch, so it could bring a larger crowd to cheer on these two teams.

I think the level of play at the Jackson Jamboree has dropped off over the years. Henry Co. makes an effort to get high quality teams every year. Milan, Henry Co, Dresden, Westview, Lexington, Peabody, S. Gibson are all tough teams. I hate that Camden has moved and were replaced by Obion, but still a very tough field.

Obion County didn't replace Camden. They played Camden to a tie last year at the jamboree in Henry County. South Gibson replaced Camden.

no way. Westview will def compete but south Gibson is going to be down big time and no way Milan is 5th. isn't there 2 divisions in 13-AA?

Not anymore. After the reclassification, 13-AA is now a 6 team district. Covington, Haywood, and Ripley are part of 14-AA and Gibson County is now in 2A

BigPurple: no insult taken. The issue I have is with Gatekeeper, whose comments to date seem to be someone who was in love with the old regime. For he/she to say that the current OC would guarantee a win is idiotic and the fact that he/she ended it by using the old tired method of saying "that's what the kids are saying" means its probably not true. Just someone trying to stir the pot for a program that is rebuilding under Coach Goltra.

I would say the battle for top spot will be between Dyersburg and Crockett Co. Both teams are returning a lot (as far as I know), though it wouldn't surprise any of us if Milan still owns title as "Top Dog".

Going to be interesting when they play obion. The offense coordinator at obion has already guaranteed this game a "W" to his players. Per what the players are saying.

You gotta love when someone is going to bash a coach or make them appear in the wrong, and its always ended with "what they hear the players saying". I guess this is like saying "bless their heart" after putting them down just to make it right. Maybe under the old regime would this guarantee have been made, but we all know they are gone now.

BigPurple: The OC last year was same one for the last 5 years. Not sure what guarantees he'll make since he and the rest of the staff are gone concerning playing S. Gibson or any other 13AA teams.
