Add Georgia to the list! That is a total of 18 teams that will be represented in Abingdon Va this weekend at the Mountain Man Classic. We are located just off the interstate approximately 2 hours from Knoxville and about 3 1/2 hours from Chattanooga! 72 Custom Championship belts will be awarded this weekend!

The Mountain Man Classic will be December 2nd & 3rd! Individual on Saturday and duals on Sunday. The champion of each wt class will win a super nice custom belt. We will not combine wt classes! Dual team champions will also win one belt per wt class!As of today we have wrestlers coming from 17 different states including: Oklahoma, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Michigan, New Jersey, Deleware, Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, & Virginia! We have a couple spots open in next years Holiday Hammer on December 29th & 30th 2017. We are located in Abingdon VA 2 minutes off Interstate 81. We are about 2 hours from Knoxville and about 3.5 hours from Chattanooga. In Virginia we are allowed to enter more than one wrestler per wt class so we do allow teams to enter extra or "B"team wrestlers into the tournament. I try to run this tournament as quickly as possible and we will run 4 mats for the finals so we can finish early and get teams on the road home. We weigh-in on the first day noon-1:00pm (by team) to allow teams ample time to travel the morning of the first day. On the second day, we anticipate we will be completely finished by 4:30.
We have teams coming from PA, WV, KY, NC, VA & TN.
We give out Custom Diamond Plated Aluminum Hammers (3 feet tall) to the Champion of each wt class as well as one to the winning coach of the team champions. Be sure to check out the pic of the Hammer. You can search "Holiday Hammer Wrestling Tournament" on Facebook to see them!

Last year we had kids travel from as far away as East Lansing Michigan, Egg Harbor Township New Jersey, and Angola Indiana. In total, we had kids come from 11 different states to compete for the prestigious Mountain Man title. This year the champion of EVERY single wt class will win a custom championship belt. Mountain Man Classic is just around the corner! This years tournament will be held December 3rd & 4th. December 3rd will be the individual & December 4th will be our team duals. Last year we had kids from 11 different states (PA, OH, MI, VA, TN, WV, NC, SC, KY, MD & FL) competing for some of the coolest Custom Belts around. The Champ of each Wt. Class will win a Custom Championship Belt. We WILL NOT combine wt classes. The competition will be fierce! Registration will open on Track Wrestling on November 13th @ 2:00 PM! We have some open spots available for this year's Holiday Hammer. We will award Custom Diamond Plated Aluminum Hammer's to the Champion of each wt class again this year. We will also award the Team Champion with a Custom Hammer. If your team is interested in coming to the Hammer please let me know as soon as possible as we anticipate the spots to fill up quickly.

HWC Spring Takedown/Camp Scholarship Event
K-12 Takedown Tournament

*All wrestlers will be entered into a drawing to win a $250 camp Scholarship*
*The team with the most registered wrestlers will have each wrestler entered into an additional drawing for another $250 Scholarship! HWC is not eligible to win this scholarship.
*Champions of each Wt. Class will be entered into an additional (3rd) drawing to win a $250 Scholarship! (We must have 300 registered wrestlers to award the Champion’s Scholarship)
*Camp Scholarships can be used for any wrestling camp of the winner’s choice! To redeem Scholarships, present HWC a receipt for any wrestling camp and we will reimburse the wrestler $250.
*Modified Folkstyle: One 4-minute period (continuous clock). Once a takedown is awarded the wrester will have 10-15 seconds to turn his opponent. If a turn is not imminent at that time, wrestlers will return to neutral position.
Check-in: 7:30-8:30am - Wrestling starts at 9:30am sharp!
Entry fee: $25
We can run up to 6 mats if needed. No breaks. Concessions all day.Medals for top 3 of every weight class!

The Mountain Man Classic will award Custom Championship Belts in 3 DIVISIONS! this year! The tournament will be held at Abingdon HIgh School in Southwest Virginia. We are located 2 hours from Knoxville and 3 1/2 hours from Chattanooga. Last year was our first Mountain Man Classic and we had over 300 wrestlers from 8 different states! We are expecting this tournament to explode this year! Be sure to checkout our website to check out the belts!

We have also added a free Clinic to the tournament. Ferrum Head Coach Nate Yetzer will be hosting this clinic form 8:45-9:45. Ferrum is a D3 program near Roanoke Virginia. Yetzer was an All-American at Edinboro..Here is some more info on Yetzer:
