I'm a little biased about Loudon, but I agree. This is easily the best Loudon team since 2014 and they are probably better than that team was. I imagine Signal will put up a good fight, but I think Loudon's Offense will be hard to stop and the Defense will be hard to attack. I do think Loudon and Redbank will rematch in the qtr's for a chance to play Alcoa.

This team is a very good team but they have a lot to accomplish to be as good as the 2014 team. I don't think they are quite that good but I hope they can go as far as 2014 did.

  2. When I played at Maryville we were always neck and neck with Loudon and whoever won that game usually had a good chance to win the state back when only eight teams went to the playoffs. Fast forward the clock over thirty years and now Greenback and Loudon play neck and neck. If someone had told me that thirty five years ago I would have horse laughed you right in the face. Time flies and strange things happen.

Look at the two towns. Loudon,Kingston and many other small towns are the same size they were 35 years ago. Maryville has grown into a large city. Also Blount Co. has open enrollment where kids can go to Maryville and Alcoa. You can't blame those kids for wanting to play there but small schools lose what good players  they have. Also you have Catholic,CAK,Webb,Grace taking good players from these schools. When you play with what comes in the door it's tough to compete. Not making excuses for them it's just the nature of high school football these days.

  3. All this has been brought up before if they ligitimately move(in Loudon County where a GB bus travels in front of tbeir house)then they are eligible regardless where they played last yr.If they didnt move then we deserve to be turned in.In my opinion! The pillow comment was for fun if you have read my posts before you should know that.I havnt heard of any WB kids,we dont take out of county kids so now you have my curiosity up.GB has some very nice facilities now it wouldnt surprise me if more kids do come, thats what has turned alot of parents away from us the school was falling apart. We uptown now!LOL.I will say this about the Catholic kid if he played there last yr(and he did)and lived in Loudon and left Catholic enrolled at GB and didnt move addresses i agree he shouldnt be able to play anywhere but Catholic.I dont know all that stuff tho,so we will see how it goes.

I have honestly heard that GB got two kids from WB. Not sure who they are. You are correct about Silvey. He played at Catholic last year transferred to Loudon and now to GB. He still lives in the exact same place he always has. I just don't see how he could be eligible at Loudon or GB. The new facilitates are nice. I could see why kids would want to go there.

  4. If Harig would have stayed at Loudon Josh would have been a Redskin, when he left his family made plans to go to GB.The Roberts kid left Seq and who wouldnt that place is a train wreck. So get a fluffy pillow and som Preperation H and that should help with the stinging pain you are feeling right now.As far as i know those are the only two that have transferred in and Loudon has petitioned the TSSAA on their behalf trying to keep the Silvey kid but he should be a Cherokee this fall.Good luck to your Redskins except for that one game!

Thanks for the offer of the pillow.Shows maturity! Also hear Greenback's own Bill Satterfield was going to turn you all in over the roberts kid. Really curious how the silvey kid could be eligible anywhere. What about the two kids from william blount?

  5. may I try and answer.... Hired a coach from a very small program and where he hasn't had much success there to lead a way bigger program coming off a very successfull 2014. Add he is coming from a rather weak 1a district to the strongest 3a district in the state. On paper, the hire doesn't look promissing.

    Well said Upper
