Yes Drew Curtis is one of those unsung heros. Constantly getting his job done and providing enormous senior leadership. Jacob Kelso was also a man beast this year. I told his mom that if someone would have told me a few years ago that he would be this dominating I would have laughed cause he was always so demure and laid back. Regardless of who was in at RB that goalie stand was a gift. Drink some more cool aid.

Maryville graduates 3 starters on defense, all DB's and the front 7 are all back. Offensively I counted 5 graduating from the starters last night, QB, one RB, one WR, and 2 O-lineman. (correct me if I missed anyone. They also have a boat load of talent coming up the next 3 years.

agreed.  I do not however share your feelings about Sevier Co. They certainly are not the # 3 or 4 Team in the state.

Wiseguy I sat over at the Whitehaven side the last 2 yrs (I actually do that because I love it when Maryville makes a big play and I get to see their fans get into it a lot better) and if students from Maryville had come over I promise you it would have been ugly! They were REALLY into both those games!

I did not say that it would not have been ugly , I just said that it may not have turned out like you think in the end.  I have no doubt how those people would have reacted...

Maryville reminds me of Shelbyville girls basketball in the 80's and 90's. Everybody wondered how they  didit  every year. George Quarles is a great coach, but he gets help with transfers from other schools, just like Gary Rankin does.

OK ,you got us thats the secret. One or two guys does not make a REAL TEAM ,especially one like MARYVILLE. Not the biggest , fastest or bestest but the winningest. All you haters out there just keep on hating cause it fuels the machine and it just keeps on grinding up everything in its path.  You can keep you D1'S and "atheletes" we'll take the hardnosed football players that make a team from the 1's to the SCRUBS , they all contribute. Live in your dream world randy72 and the REBELS will just keep branding big L's on your  collective a $ $ 's.

I will say I was up at the pressbox and a Maryville administrative person came out and was very upset and had a radio telling someone where to find them and get them outtathere!

Maybe I'm missing something you guys think having "class" is about. but calling coach Q classy?? I don't think going for it on 4th down when you're up 44-7 late in the 4th is very classy. If anything, Coach Hatfield is a class act for even shaking his hand after the game for doing that. Either way Maryville was the better team, but that wasn't class at all no matter how you look at it.

Let me explain something to you... this game could have been double the score if GQ had not taken his foot off the gas. The "goal line stand" was a gift , I mean do you honestly believe that Hville could have stopped us. GQ pulled Prevo out and was playing sophomores to try and stop himself.  There is much made about class though very few know quite what it is. Class does not mean not scoring on your opponent , the only other thing GQ could have done was just told the guys to fumble the ball to Hville and let you run it 99.99 yds for a TD with no pursuit.  Good GOD man have some pride.   That is why we have score boards.

Looks like a rivalry in the making.

Yes there is no doubt in my mind that every single youngman on that field tonight wanted no less than to win that game. We watch them with the eyes of men with more life experience and more years under our belts and we forget how young they are.

GOV91 , I think he is referring to theri almost complete control of the entire 4th qtr.  Cummings has poor clock management skills and squandered almost 2o+ secs trying to decide what to do. HC forced West to get out what they do which is run and the West defense was worn out after that 8 min drive.

You WEST REBELS keep your head up.    HC just has a little more discipline and little better coaching , just like they did against Powell 2 yrs ago.  The sun will come up tomorrow.
