I finally had a chance to go back and reread last years thread because for some reason everyone seemed to remember it differently than I did. For anyone to say that Huntingdon fans came on here and made excuses about losing, that is disingenuous. Almost every poster came back and congratulated Cornersville for a hard fought victory. Several gave an opinion of things they did not like or did not agree with. However, I challenge anyone to show me where any Huntingdon poster said those things are what cost us the game. All kidding aside, if after Friday night Cornersville is moving on, I will be back to take my helping of crow.

Didn't you know? There is going to be a test later in the week.

Back to regularly scheduled programming. I think this game will come down to execution of Cornersville on offense. I don't see them keeping Huntingdon below 40. They will need to outscore Huntingdon to have a chance.

Now for obvious slight against Huntingdon coach. Every coach, with maybe the exception of Nick Saban, get accused of not being able to win the big game. I assumed from your comment, that Rice from Wayne co must be in the category of Saban so I did a little research. Counting this season and the previous 10 here are a few comparisons. For the record, just because I normally do not participate on the message boards, I am not a newbie. Felt like this was a good week to dust the keyboard off.

First off, go read the dictionary for definition of jealous. You might just find out it fits. Every single Huntingdon fan knows about earning respect. Ask our biggest rival, Milan, there is no love lose there but there a whole lot of respect. It was earned by both sides. You want to talk about size of community. Huntingdon has 3,830 residents. Waynesboro has 2,337. I guess your right we are so much bigger. However, here are some more stats for you. Carroll Co has population of 27,860 with 5 high schools. Wayne Co has population of 16,583 with 2 high schools, 3 if you count Frank Hughes. Huntingdon is limited to basically the city limits to pull students from. There are other school districts that pull the rural areas. As far as getting my feelings hurt, if you think comments on a message board get me upset you are crazy. I can tell you as a fan that did not grow up in Huntingdon but did have a son play. There may be other towns that take as much pride in their football program but few will support it the way the Huntingdon community does.

I don't think Alcoa or Maryville are playing up. They both are in classification that matches enrollment.

Only problem with that is we would not be able to play Cornersville in a 10 game playoff. After the first couple of butt whoopings, Cornersville would go back to their corner and sulk.

You won't hear an excuse from me. There may be some Huntingdon fans that will make an excuse but most fans will take the lose and give congrats to the winner. That is part of what makes the tradition of Huntingdon one of the best in the state. We will show respect to teams that we beat as well as to those that beat us. If anyone thinks that these message boards are an indication of how Huntingdon deals with wins and losses, they are delusional.

Guess you missed the part where I said we admit they won last year. Sometimes the better teams does not win.

Obviously this game can't be. I said if the teams from LAST year played 10 times Huntingdon would have won 9 of them. Now if you want to talk about this years teams. If they play 10 times, Huntingdon will win 10 of them.

We admit Cornersville won LAST year. Is that what you want to hear? I believe those two teams could have played 10 times and Huntingdon would have won 9, and that is after spotting you the first one.

That is where the major difference is between Huntingdon fans and other posters on here. You assume that football is the subject at hand. It's not. This is just a forum for folks to talk smack and see who can have the best zingers. They have to stick to what they know.

You just keep making my point. Whether you want to use the word or not, I will. You are jealous that the community of a 1A school is willing to invest so heavily in their program. Wayne co or any other 1A school had the same opportunities as Huntingdon. One point that maybe you are not aware. Every Friday night during football season, over 25% of the student body is on the field as either a player, cheerleader, or band member. That does not count the rest that form the spirit line each week. So yeah we are very PROUD of what Huntingdon has created. Will the results on the field always be what we want to see? Nope But you know what, other than for 1 school in every division each year that happens to every team.

I don't think you will have an argument from Huntingdon folks that we have under achieved a few years. However, that does not change the tradition or the support the community gives to the program. As far as not being jealous, kinda hard for you to defend that point when you just got through saying that the reason Huntingdon should not be in 1A was because of the turf.

There are 20 students difference in the two schools enrollment and Huntingdon doesn't belong? Huntingdon never complained when they were the 3rd smallest 2A school.

He has to use them this week. He will be on the basketball boards next week.
