  1. Judging by what Kingston did to stone memorial, Kingston should win. It may be a closer game then some expect, but it is in Kingston's great atmosphere.  I say Kingston by 2 TD's, but if they sleep on the highlanders Scott may pull out an upset.

If we don't play better than the last 2 weeks then we will be leavin Jamestown with an L. That is a very tough place to play. We better show up ready to play against York, zebras, and whatever else they can come up with down yonder.

That's the truth! They do things different down there. I remember when Scott played them in the 2009/2010 season and we got every call against us that was possible (and impossible quite frankly). This is when their stands were condemned and they placed their temporary away bleachers on one side of the field at one endzone within a closed off fence (I kid you not, you can't make this stuff up). It was like they caged our fans up like a bunch of wild animals. I was waiting for them to throw over some raw steak, so we could all fight over it. Then at the end of the game Scott made a 20 yardish TD pass ran in by Nathan Griffith and get this... They called holding at the one yard line right before he ran in. So the td got called back and it went into overtime. Scott kicked a Field goal to send it into a second overtime but they called no good when it was clearly through the uprights. I'm one to not complain about reffing, but that was the craziest thing I've ever seen in a high school football game. Never seen anything like it again till this date.

  3. Scott's run game is better this year than last year. They don't throw the ball much unless its a swing route or hitch. Scott lost some talent last year but they haven't missed a beat. I think they are running the offense and defense smoother this year. They seem to be more under controle and not so scrappy. Although improvements have been made, CAK is a different animal. I say it will be a closer game than last year. We've never beat CAK before but optimism seems to grow more and more every year. I like where this program is headed.

  4. Highlander, heard you fellars look pretty good. A man that knows the game well said y'all had some backs that could really tote the rock. Glad to hear speedy recovered and is back in action. I'm hearing 6 or 7 wins & another play off trip is a very reasonable expectation this year. That's pretty dang good when you look at some of the folks on the schedule. Also heard the numbers are the highest in school history, at least earlier this year anyway. All this is great to hear, I'm glad to hear the program is moving in the right direction. I'm still waiting on that shocker to happen when y'all beat one of the big dawgs, it'll happen one of these days.

Yes its nice to see a change in tradition around the highlanders. I hope we keep it rolling in this direction and pull one off against the "Big 3", maybe not this year but we are heading in the right direction. Anyway like to see Oneida pull off another 92 season within the decade. They've got the foundation (started since the 1930's). But first things first the 2014 match up Oneida vs Rockwood. I'm sure the staff will have the young men focused on the task at hand. Hopefully I'll catch a game or two this year with the men in orange. How bout them play clocks fellas! Woot woot! Now if we can get large video boards, grassy synthetic turf and audio systems. Perhaps even double sided glass pressboxes ehh? In time...

  5. I would say Oneida 31-14. I was told Rockwood scrimmaged Scott and Scott handled them pretty easily. This is second hand information so if any of the Rockwood folks have anything different please chime in.

Whole different game buddy. Scott is twice the size of Rockwood and arguably in the toughest district in 3A/4A and blew them out in last years scrimmage too. Don't count them out. Rockwood is a good team and should be a good game as always. Still this will be a good way for the Indians to start things off with a win and hopefully gives them momentum for the rest of the season. Pullin for the fellas next door as always.

  6. Ha barb Greene is going to be black and blue with upset stomachs after they realize they are not what they think Friday. I have not been posting simply because I learn quick and i learnt you cant change a stubborn donkey in its ways of thinking :) Good Luck

You can talk all the crap you want about Scott here is what I in my opinion think happened in this game

1, Scott is better than anyone expected they actually were a pretty dang good team and well coached.

    2. Elizabethton come off a big emotional game last week, Added with the emotion of a lot of seniors possibly playing their final home game. Added with also it very well possible was the last game at a high tradition filled stadium. This had been talked about all week and yes I really think it effected the kids,

    3. Do not expect them same emotions Friday because why? Noone expects us to win except us. This is a dangerous situation for a team that thinks they are going to hang 70 in a showboat affair, Does Elizabethton have all the best talent nope. Do they get it done as a team Yes. Will they be ready for Friday Yes. Should Greeneville win of course they should. Will they I in my opinion say I think their season ends. I'm sure Oregon thought ole Stanford was another cakewalk. Just like Greeneville thinks Betsy is.

Finally some respect. Thank you. This Highlander will be rooting for you guys to pull off the upset and bring some people back down to earth.

  7. Wish we could recruit to fill in our weak spots.... nah I take that back. That's no fun. Football is a good life teacher. You must have your ups and downs to show that no your not all what you think you are. Once everthing is just given to you... how can you expect to have a sense of pursuit in you. A drive in you to push on when life gets tough. We may not have all these star athletes across the board but we are the tightest community you'll find. Id take that any day over the glory of myself.

  8. Eh. If ehs plays to their standard thus game would still be ehs winning. The team u all played tonight...I doubt 1 person fan or not would say u saw the real elizabethton football team. Either way it was a good game. Scott has some good running game though

I'm sure but Scott didn't show up either. Stats show it. 3 hours on the road kinda showed up too. You under estimate my friend. If both teams played mistake free football... this one goes either way. They are 2 very evenly matched teams. 9-1 vs 7-3 means nothing. We come from 2 totally different areas. You can't judge by that. A state champion has came out of Scotts district ever since the around 2000. Not taking anything away from Betsy. They were the better team tn but Scott's seen it all. Nothing new. None of our people expected a blow out. We expected a tough game and that's exactly what it was. There is no proof of this being a blow out. That's all theory. Orgeon thought they were #1 too till they was exposed from a quality opponent. Anybody looks good until they are challenged. So no excuses. If we go by that Betsy is 7 points better. End of story.

  9. Scott should've won this. Turnovers killed us and so did penalties and why in the world did we not throw the middle rail to our big tall #86. Weve scored on that everytime we ran that this year. We never went to it once. Its common sense! The middle was open all night! We didn't force one turnover. We showed up part of the time. It was a sloppy game. They couldn't stop us but we ended up shooting ourselves in the foot. I believe people under estimate us. We might even be the better team. Playing Alcoa CAK and Catholic makes us a better team! We've seen adversity many times this year.
