  1. Yeah and you also thought cak and ehs would be close so yeah..and you thought scott would give alcoa their toughest game yet so there's that.

I think it will be close. IF ehs wins it will be by the narrowest of margins but if alcoa wins I see them pulling away in the 4th qtr and probably being 2 tds better(if it's a clean game with low turnovers)

i picked elizibethton to beat Cak I said I would have picked Cak if Cole smith plays I said Scott would give Alcoa the toughest game getting to the state championship game I still believe that
  2. Scott gets some players back that weren't around for part of the year, and they are stronger than they normally are this year. I'm truly happy for them!  But Alcoa is in another league. No disrespect, I just don't think this one will be even close. As a football fan, I hope I'm wrong and this one is a barn burner....but I don't think so.

sir have you ever watched the movie the little giants did any one think they would win and you are from Christian acadamy knoxville have you ever heard o DAVID and goliath. but that being said i understand your prediction. alcoa has been great f or years but part of our problem with them (and cak) yrs past it seamed like we knew we were beat before the game started this yr i refuse to accept defeat until it happens. taking the trump attitude!

  3. Elizabethton played Alcoa in the spring. Not exactly strangers. Alcoa's defense can flat play. No weakness. Play fast and physical. Sometimes it takes them a few minutes to "get the juices flowing". Nix will blitz from where and when you least expect. Tall, athletic safeties make it tough to throw deep.

Elizabethton's D-Line is very good. LB are good but not quite as good as Alcoa.

Offensively I was impressed with the execution and play calling from Elizabethton. OL run blocks very well. A little suspect I think in pass protection. The QB is a great player. A threat to run every play. Might not have the same passing threat without the injured QB but he can run and throw. Well coached......

Alcoa- Two headed dragon at QB...One can throw and one can run. Rankin does the simple things better than anybody else. Never a secret what's coming but can you stop it. 6-5 Division 1 receiver that is almost impossible to cover. Stable of RB who are not going to get tired. OL will challenge E-Town DL. This match-up will be worth price of admission.

Elizabethton has got to keep it close. Try to control the clock. Steal a score. Get a few turnovers. Get into the 4th QTR with a chance and see what happens.

But Elizabethton will have to beat CAK first.....Warriors are play-off tested. Not the first rodeo. Sounds like the new QB is improving.......Cyclones better score early and often. Predict high scoring affair.....Too close to call

if Alcoa and elizibethton meet in next rd Alcoa wins by 35
  4. Ummm, maybe. Scott is more athletic and better than they've been in past years, but I'm not sure they are better than Betsy or a CAK (if they win this week) that has had 5 weeks to get adjusted to losing their SR college prospect QB. If CAK beats Betsy, they will be the best team Alcoa sees in the east. If Betsy beats CAK, Betsy will be the best team Alcoa will see in the east. Now as far as the middle and the west, I can't speak to that. I know Milan is strong this year, but until someone from the west plays a competitive game with Alcoa, I'm not going to believe it. And I don't see a CPA in the mid state that is likely to challenge Alcoa. Regardless, Alcoa is at a different level than the rest of 3A this year. It will take a special night for someone to challenge or defeat them.

we will just disagree on that I think Cak has a good team.and I am a big Cole smith(I think I am the only one that threw his name out there on that thread that ask who is best qb )fan but right now I would not trade our qb for any one else in 3a he is back in form playing great he did not play against Cak we were with out our left tackle and 1 of our best players on the defense side of ball
  5. Betsy is always tough, and even with Cole Smith, would have put up a big time fight especially without a 3 hour bus trip and playing at home. But I agree, CAK would have just been too much. As it stands, Betsy is the favorite, but I can't write off CAK by any stretch. They have adapted better than I thought they would (see my earlier post in this thread if you care to) and have a real opportunity to pull off the upset. Looks like I'm going to make the long drive and have to watch this one in person.

yea I read your qb is playing both ways now it is tough when your backup qb is one of your best players on D and you don't play him hard decision for a coach
  6. Simple. I feel Seq. will play Alcoa in the quarter finals. I bring them up cause Betsy, Alcoa, Scott and CAK would handle Squatch no problem. Just making reference to how good the four teams are in this quad and how any one of these teams avoiding Alcoa would represent the east for the Gold ball. I mean no disrespect and know all teams eventually have to go through Alcoa but I hate it for Scott having to face them so early in the playoffs while teams on the other side of the bracket would have been eliminated Friday. I would also ad Betsy can also beat CAK. I made mention earlier that Scott would be a tougher task for Betsy.

i agree with this post i don't know a lot about seq but they have played some fairly close games against teams that a top five team should handle with a little more ease
