Well said. I would be for that in baseball too. Only because there were many years Hampton finished third in the district LOL
I say do it like football lose you're done. That's what playoffs/post-season tournament is win and move on.

No Upperman probably didn’t but other teams have been caught doing it though. The TSSAA should have fixed this issue by reseeding teams in Regionals if the 1st round like this occurs. Upperman should play White and Lawerence and Stone should play but that is not how the brackets work.
I can't imagine how you coach a team to throw a game. As a competitor I believe I would think my coach had lost their mind.

In TSSAA it pays to throw/tank games
Did they really throw a game?

From what I know (take it however).. The AD didn't hire this coach nor does he really want him around from word on the street. School districts/boards are ultimately responsible for hiring and firing not the AD.
The AD (coach rogers) don't care anything about any other sport other than his girls team.

FCBOE doesn’t decide who coaches Clarkrange boys basketball. The Clarkrange AD does and I’ll just leave it at that.
The boys will never be successful with the current set up. It’s all about the girls and that has pretty much ran its course seems like. With most the girls staying on the north end to play now.

Just let um go anywhere they want to and be done with it ,at least it would be legal that way. To be honest,no one should tell people where they can send their kids to school. All the best teams already attract kids, the bad one's lose um. Sports in general have gotten worse and worse at every level, A kid or even grown up can't score or make a big play without celebrating and drawing attention or just flat out taunting, Was much better when you just made a play and went back to the huddle. Its sickening to me, kids need to be taught to be humble and not like they are some sort of superior being. If so, they would be able to do it as adults. Truth is ,you only have the talent you are given, be thankful and not look down on others thats not as gifted. Our whole society is me,me me. Sad but true.
You and I have agreed on much lately. But you are definitely spot on. I was always told act like you’ve been there before and you’ll be back again. Don’t like its your first or that it’s gonna be your last.

When I was at the most formative point in growing up, I loved sports at every level...playing at home and in the local park with my friends, in school from 5'th grade until graduation, watching college, NFL, NBA, ECT... I am very appreciative that I lived in the greatest era of pure competitive sports. My school was MY school and I wouldn't have dreamed of going someplace else (rather lose by 50 than play for anyone else) to play. My favorite teams were comprised of a certain set of players, and they stayed with their team for their career for the most part (I can still tell you who played for who and at what position). I'm sad for the state of all sports above school level, and the "instant gratification" generation of players who are only concerned about their image and the immense wealth that comes with being a successful athlete, who have ruined pro sports, are well into ruining college athletics, and have set in motion the cogs that will ruin high school too. These kids now will never be able to recall their "favorite team", because there isn't "team" anymore...just a bunch of people wearing the same uniform trying to stand out from the crowd.
This post is so spot on. Great post!!!! I'll give you an Amen from the back Pew!!!!!

So you’re saying our kids faked it but yours didn’t? Now that’s a class act right there bro. You definitely repping now ain’t ya? We have one with a broken arm/collarbone but I guess that’s a fake injury. I’ve kept quiet about some things that happened because it’s all a part of the game but do not say another word about our young men out there on the field and I’ll give you and yours the same courtesy.
I am a fan of neither team. And there was a big difference in the player that hurt his arm and all the fake cramps. You do what you gotta do to slow the game down. I guess doesn’t mean as a fan we have to like it. A couple of those lineman definitely are not in a theater class, but at least they plaed on Saturday to get to fake a cramp, the majority of us posters can never say we’ve done that. (play interstate championship football game.)

I think York is losing a load to.Take more than a qb to replace all them boys
They lose Qb and rb but I think they have a sophomore running back that looked good the carries he got. The jr rb did very well with his touches I thought. Will have to see what next year holds.

I was told last night at the basketball game York had a QB transferring in at Christmas break. Not sure if there is any truth to that.

How's the 6 diffrent players for PC doing who layed on the ground. 77 and 74 spent a fare amount of rolling on the ground to. It happens. But congrats to PC!
Faking cramps is ridiculous. I hate it in college and to see a high school team do it is even worse. They definitely need a good class in theater. Those big boys did spend a lot of time on the ground but they didn’t lay down and fake it. But upperman did make it to the game today. Can’t take that away from them.

Just the way I feel about it. I have never liked them even when my kids played. Cheer as loud as you want but I’ll never like the artificial noise makers.
It’s actually against TSSAA rules to use artificial noise makers during the play. From my understanding

I figure that edge speed Groves has is turning their heads. Thomas is a man though no doubt!

Kid from York on youtube is interviewed by WATE. He says ER totally at fault & the YAI Cheerleaders were getting cussed, threatened & watered dumped/thrown on/at them & had to go to the other side. York coach said his star players had the flu
Actually said they had the flu but no excuses we just didn’t get it done. Wonder why they would interview a high school kid that doesn’t play?

Everything you said is true. That doesn’t mean poor behavior is condoned or encouraged it should be addressed or it will be repeated. Were my children angels? Of course not. Was i an angel, certainly not, But indiscretions were pointed out and addressed not swept under the rug or ignored. Silence is consent and BOTH teams actions and reactions need addressing IMHO
I agree but for a grown man to get on a message board and talk about how some else raises their children is not the way to go. You have your opinion and I have mine I do not condone it at all but I would never call them spoiled or question their parents. Football is a physical sport and yes York tries to play physical. I am disappointed as a fan that last night got out of hand and I do hope it’s addressed, BUT it’s not your place or mine to call underaged kids names or question their parents. I am done with this thread. Congrats ER your playing in the big game. I wish you and injury free game. And to the Hampton fans hopefully we meet again in the playoffs. Till then good luck the basketball. It’s only 9 months till kick off next year.

The attempt to maimed by twisting on Groves leg occurred after the game was well in hand and ER was running out the clock. York was out of timeouts, couldn’t stop the clock or stop Groves. IMHO It was so bad of ai incident because it was an attempt to injure the ER star because York was beaten. To me it was the actions of either a bully or a spoiled petulant child either of those should be disciplined
You are calling out the parents of child for how they raise their child. I’m sure your children were angels. Do I condone what was done absolutely not. I don’t know which player it was but I do personally know the majority of these kids and they are amazing young men. Do they make mistakes yes. Should a grown man call them a spoiled petulant child? You may want to look in the mirror as you’re talking about young men. That the majority are under the age of 18.

I disagree the press isn't the issue. It's being lazy in transition defense.
