So Crow, would it be fair to say that Little ol Monterey is actually small when in Comparison to York?
How many kids that attend Monterey should be at another school in Putnam county. Little ol Montery is laughable.

Good Research. But the question still remains, does YAI have to count Clarkrange's Enrollment? And, since YAI is fully state-funded supposedly, wouldnt it be fair to say for Monterey to Co-op with Clarkrange in Football? Those kids that live on Hwy 62 and Martha Washington are a whole lot closer to Monterey than Jamestown. I'm not sure if any plays in those areas or not. But lets say they do, Why cant they go play on Monterey Football and not have to be counted on Student Enrollment? Believe me, Monterey would love to have Them on the Team!
Ask TSSAA. From what I understand Co-op does not mean they are counted. It allows students to play a sport they otherwise wouldn't get to. If a student from the South end decides to attend York they are counted in numbers.

So, are you saying those athletes from Clarkrange doesnt make a difference on YAI football? The Overton KIds do have a State Agreement with Putnam to allow them to go to Monterey and our factored in number wise to Student Enrollment. So my question is, does YAI have to count Clarkrange's ennrollment when they Co-op to allow Football players to play on YAI's team? IF so, Shouldnt they be 4A and playing LA, Stone, Dekalb?
I don't know how the Co-op works. But a quick look at TSSAA and you can read it. And you can see Monterey has Co op program with Cookeville to allow them to participate in wrestling.
A cooperative program is defined as two or more member schools forming a single team in a sport in which at least one of the schools does not have a team and has not had a team for the previous two years.
The association office approves cooperative programs on an annual basis. Each year, schools wishing to participate in a cooperative program must notify the state office prior to the first practice date in the sport(s) involved.
When co-ops are approved the list below and the school's directory page are updated to reflect the co-op status.
If your school has students participating with another school's team and you do not see the relationship shown below then the agreement has not be approved by the state office. You should contact the state office as soon as possible to resolve the situation.
And two of the teams are on Yorks schedule every year.

Ok. I agree the "little" Monterey talk is a bit exaggerated on my part. But since we are on the topic of 'numbers.... I cant get a players number correct (Monette) and I Dont know Attendance numbers (Monterey 427). Lets have Class Boys. We can say Monterey's student enrollment has increased significantly the last 10-15 years with the Influx to Perdue. They are Great Students, Very well-mannered, but very few play Sports compared to the rest of the student-age residents in Monterey and Southern Overton County. So, with students that will actually play sports, we are still the ratio with Clarkrange, Pickett, Clay. But YorkDad, you wanted to add Football into this Conversation, How do you justify adding kids onto York's Team from Clarkrange without Increasing the Enrollment Totals? Monterey would love to add 8-10 Athletes every year from another school that doesnt have Football! If York added Clarkrange's Enrollment to their total (since you get those athletes) you should be a 3A school or possibly 4A in football. We are on to you about this honeyhole of Athletes you get from South Fentress without proper calculations by TSSAA YorkDad and watching very closely.
Same way every other school adds. It's TSSAA and yes this year we did gave some athletes from Clarkrange that played. That's not every year. So should you add Overton county numbers to Monterey’s numbers. Don't you have athletes from Overton. I have never understood the co-op program. Honeyhole lol that's another exaggeration.

Ask the REFS which side of FANS they felt threatened by. Anyway, Monterey had a 28 point lead when they called it. The GAME was practically OVER. It probably saved a RUNNING clock in the 4th Quarter. Thats what happened Panther14. Clarkrange was getting whipped by little Monterey. Number 3 was on a College Level playing against three defenders the WHOLE game.
If you know anything about the size of the school little Monterey was “whipping” tiny Clarkrange if you wanna go that route. I’m not a fan of either school but to try and act like Monterey is oh such a small school.
From the Tssaa websiteClarkrange 268
Monterey 427
You may be the smallest school in Putnam County but you’re “whippin” a single A school GREAT job just like football you schedule tough out of region games. Sarcasm intended

For Swenson to reach the semifinals without 1 all state player is impressive.
York did the same thing.

When its all said and done, its about the hard work and commitment any kid puts into it. No one can take away the accomplishments. These all whatever things is more of a popularity thing but the one's they pick are all good players, no way to get it perfect. People in Memphis know nothing about teams in the east and visa versa.
Watched you guys and was impressed with several players, should have a really good team next season.
I totally agree with you in your assessment of the all state awards. As a fan I do feel it’s all about the finished product of the team. And it’s honestly all about the region games and the run in the playoffs. Hopefully with getting a second year with coach Wright will only make for a better year next year. The out of region schedule I saw definitely wasn’t a cupcake schedule.

Ole Boy from Hampton had 1,600 yards, 27 td's and countless 2 point conversions. If all the local papers don't vote for you , you're up the creek. I'm sure the 12 teams he played against would tell you he deserved some attention. Tis what it is,lol
Exactly you can’t put much into the accolades. I don’t even think much of the all region teams much less the all state. And I have no clue if the York coach is in an association.
-
You can’t pay any attention to post season accolades. Region 2 in 2a is a prime example.

What was the story behind the coach’s ejection. Watched the game on upper Cumberland reporter last night I didn’t see anything. I know being there is not the same what happened?

I had heard Stone and Clay had agreed to play but have not seen anything official, just the talk at last week’s basketball game.

Anyone seen any out of region schedules. I haven’t heard what York’s is yet.
-
Murfreesboro makes all the sense in the world. It is the geographic center of the state. The actual true geographic center is less than 2 miles from MTSU stadium.

Losing 4 linemen and didn’t even have an O line coach this year and it very much showed. We will see what happens but not gonna get my hopes up.
Isn’t one of York’s coaches from Oneida. He may even be one of the O line coaches if I’m not mistaken.
-
York loses 2 lineman on offense and 2 small defensive backs and one lineman on defense everything else is back. And will have 2 years in Coach Wright’s offense. I have said before I don’t know anything about Polk county. Sounds like their coach is like our coach a fan favorite.
-
I don't know anything about telico plains or polk. No clue what they return or even what style offense they run. Wartburg was improved this season I know they lose a few. Oneida was like York young so I except them go be improved. Bledsoe was disciplined in the first game of the season when York played them. York was not had like 4 turn overs. I do think York will be betterafter a year with Coach Wright and a full year in the weight room with him. Kids live playing for him. I know my son did and so have my nephews. I'm already ready for next season.
-
Looking at York’s region schedule once again they can give theirselves a leg up or take a step back in the first region game next year. Looks like they play Bledsoe week 4 for the first region game

I know nothing about Riverside but after watching Tyner last night I can’t see anyone stopping them.

I’d dare to tell you that you have more students from the north end going to school at Clarkrange than the other way around. It’s been that way here for years. Biggest difference is it’s not girl basketball players anymore. Every county that has more than one school has that with students just like they have the Co op agreement with different sports. Sorry I stepped on your toes by calling out the lil ol mama Monterey. I just don’t buy it. Definitely when you’re playing down and say your “whippin” someone.
