1. Yep, the IMAC is a mess lol. Seymour's press wasn't as effective at Cherokee like it was when we played at home. Mix in too many missed shots and the foul situation being 14-3 in favor of Cherokee in the 4th quarter alone = a loss any night.

  2. I believe Science Hill and Tennessee High are better than anyone in the IMAC, but they will have to prove it. Dobyns-Bennett is also solid. I think the Big Eight will win two or three games in round one.

Not so sure about this, Science Hill has lost to Morristown East this year who has been beat by everyone else in IMAC. My guess is that IMAC and Big 8 are going to be evenly matched across the board.

  3. I agree Jeff Co. has the easiest remaining games left, but I believe Seymour will win out and finish with only 3 losses and tied with Jeff Co for first. Idk how it will determined who gets number 1 seed if this does end up happening due to a split with Jeff Co. I don't think West has what it takes to win the tournament, they have talent but they just don't have that spark about them to take it all the way. Jeff Co. or Seymour wins tournament, but I'd be happy with just one win in the tournament in order to book a ticket to region tourney. Good luck to everyone though.

  4. I don't know what to predict in this conference. I believe that Jefferson Co. is a bit overrated, actually way overrated. I was at the Seymour/Cherokee game and just by watching warm ups I thought Cherokee's big girls would be too much for us but Seymour held their own. Cherokee was having major problems breaking the press all night and thats what cost them. Seymour controls their destiny from here out with home games against Sevier Co. and away games against Mo. East, Cherokee, and Cocke Co. Going on the road is always tough so I'm sure Cherokee and Cocke Co. will be looking for redemption as will Mo. East who lost pretty handily at Seymour a few weeks back. I would like to say Seymour will run the show from here on out but you never know which team will show up on any given night. It's really a toss up.

  5. Seymour makes two free throws with no time left in regulation to go to OT for a 7 pt win at Morristown West last night. Seymour can beat anyone if they can limit turnovers and be a little more picky with shot selection. Great game by both sides. Big game at Sevier Co. tonight.

  6. 12U:

    Pool A - 1) Team Pride 2) TN Trotters

    Pool B - 1) TN Glory 2) KGC Pride

Championship: Team Pride vs. TN Glory winner TEAM PRIDE

Third Place: TN Trotters vs. KGC Pride winner KGC Pride

I don't believe that the Memphis Teams have been tested and are ready for this type of competitiveness except TN Glory. Memphis Elite - Holmes could squeak into the third place game if they can squeak by the Trotters who are playing good ball right now.

I just don't see any of the teams spoiling last year's match of TN Glory vs. Team Pride. Pride dominated the Glory last year and in the Substate this year, and you can expect the same in the State Finals this year.

KGC Pride 12U defeated Memphis Elite by 8 points, and were up by 21 at one point against the Glory and ended up winning by 8 and also defeated Team Pride B by 30 this afternoon. KGC #1 seed coming out of pool B. Playing outstanding basketball. Keep it up girls.

  7. This is a joke of a post, everybody knows Seymour is the best team in Sevier County. This has been the case for as long as I have known baseball around the area. Pigeon Forge had a year or two there when they were pretty good, but as far as the best team in the county year after year its gotta be Seymour. Tell me a time when anybody plays Seymour thinking they are going to win....don't count on it as long as Scott Norman is still the head coach there.

  8. QUOTE(WTRSD63 @ May 27 2007 - 11:36 AM) 826468015thats not true We will have Matt Kirkland, Josh Woodward, Wes House, and Taylor Owens on the mound

Kirkland is the only one that has proven he can pitch and come out with a win. And for the other ones....never heard of em! Maybe thats bc their parents...well I wont go that far, but u know u wont even be close to gettin where u were this year.

  9. QUOTE(bsball4 @ May 26 2007 - 09:54 PM) 826467869No grudge that I know of...I just remember seeing posts in the past with people saying you had already graduated. You have no problems with me. Im not even sure who you exactly are, just posts from the past had people saying you graduated.

Yea, I graduated last year....but I still have some close friends on the team and I know alot about them still....so I get on here and share my opinion(s). This will be the last season I post bc Seymour wont have much of a team next year, but id still like to know who you are....

  10. if seymourbaseball19 is the same guy it was last year...then i guess its easy for a guy that graduated from seymour last year to get on here and trash people from a school that has owned seymour over the past few years. a classless guy making a classless statement. Of course SD didnt EXPECT to lose...thats what seymour does when they play SD and look what happens...you dont ever go anywhere expecting to lose. good classy post and comment tho. Even bashed a great coach. What a guy you are. You must feel awesome about yourself. Atleast most of the other people from Seymour have some class.

Ha, Im not afraid to let people know who I am. Who is this? Im sure we go way back, and you just have some sort of grudge from the past....haha....

  11. QUOTE(1moreDBmom @ May 25 2007 - 08:28 PM) 826467281Well, unfortunately time did run out for them. But there is nothing to hang their heads over. They had a stellar season and there is nothing but better things to come for them in the future.

A wonderful season Cherokees and we are all proud to have you represent East Tennessee for us this year.

Bring back what you've learned from this season and do it all again next year!

Haha, not to kill the high the old Kees have from Murfreesboro, but it just didnt happen for them this year. Nor the parents or the team ever expected to get beat twice down there...one being the Championship game that a few of the Dads on the team have been dreaming of since their sons were 11. I know the majority of the team and there is a few I woulda like to seen get that ring, but for the others...i hate it for ya. haha. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> And by the way, SD will never have a chance to get back to state, they have nothing coming back. Time to hit up Bower Field for some recruits Roberto Howard.

  12. QUOTE(braves4life @ Apr 18 2007 - 09:31 PM) 826440779curveballs don't hurt your arm as much as people think...it's when you start to try to snap it off hard that it becomes a problem...a good changeup is always nice to have...it can get you a ton of weak flyballs and grounders...and if his hands are big enough, let him try the splitter...it gets a little getting used to, but it is sick nasty if you can get the hang of it

I had three pitches in highschool....Fastball, Splitter, and a Changeup. I didnt throw one curveball after my freshman year. But I also throw sidearm so the splitter is very affective if you can get that pitch going. It is a good pitch to have, but it is probably worse on the arm than a curveball. I had tommy john surgery in january....but my elbow never bothered me until i started throwin the split alot.
