  1. Kenwood has been a winner though. Clarksville has to prove it. Kenwood finished 3rd in the district last season. That was higher than CHS.

Kenwood, NE and CHS all finished 4 - 3 in the district. The difference being that CHS played a tougher non-district schedule. Did Kenwood beat CHS last year? Things are changing at CHS

  2. Henry Co @ Liberty Tech

         Clarksville @ Goodpasture

         Rossview @ Hillsboro

         Kenwood @ Independence

         Northeast @ Centennial

         Northwest @ Stewart Co

         Springfield @ Greenbrier

         West Creek @ Todd Co

Henry Co. is probably still the best team in the district, but I think there will be a new number 2. CHS looked pretty good in the spring and has continued to improve over the summer. Rossview and Kenwood will battle for the third spot, NE will finish fifth. NW, Springfield and WC will be 6th 7th and 8th in some order.

And that is how it really is!

  3. Let's set one thing strait. Pilgrim is a proud parent. But I have no idea who Anyway is and although I appreciate he enthusiasm I really don't concur with most of his statements. Some of these new posters popped up as soon as I posted a derogatory statement about the coaches last year. They have been known to quote me on things I never said and I have come to just avoid them.

I do regret my critical remarks towards those who were serving our boys and I never made a single negative comment about a player.

As for next year, I'm not about to predict wins or loses. But I will tell you that CHS is on the right track and will be a completely revamped team. We are honored to have Henry County on our schedule, because they are the obvious measuring stick for 5A football.

Proud parent ?  More like delusional about my child’s ability parent. No need to regret previous posts they sure seemed to be very heart felt comments. Save your regret for next year when Jr. isn’t on the field, even though you believe he’s should be. It will be the coach’s fault then too.

How can someone quote you if you didn’t say it? I think you had your own words thrown back in your face and you are too small to except it.

I supported the previous coach and I'll support coach Shelby, I hope he's prepared when the parents like you smile in his face and then stab him in the back.

  4. You sir, are an idiot.

First off, how do you lose a game on one blown block in the back call?

Second, I don't think anyone is going to beat HC and especially not two teams! Do not be surprised if they blow you out by an epic portion just because you won't shut up! You need to do your team a favor and shut your mouth. I am glad we don't have to put up with folks like you in Spring City!

I've met several folks from Spring City, wasn't too impresed (Probably all the inbreeding there).

If you need someone to explain how a game can be lost on one bad call, come down to Clarksville and I'll gladly tell you.

  5. We were one the best teams in 6A last year and now we are primed to be the best again next year.  We beat Northwest, Northeast, CHS, West Creek, and everyone else on our schedule except Henry County.  We will be a 6A powerhouse again next year and I cannot wait to see our boys get after it again.

We have Charles and Isaiah coming back, both MAJOR Division I players, and now have another great RB in the Luke kid from Fort Campbell.

I've heard about what you are talking about with some witch-hunt investigation opened up on us allegedly recruiting kids to come play for us.  This is crazy.

We will win all the games next year, I'm sure of it and now they want to open up an investigation on us.  PUH-LEEZEEE.

My son came home yesterday and said that all the talk around the school is that they might be in trouble and not get to play next year due to possible punishment from the TSSAA.  This is BS and I'm tired of people trying to hold us down.  We are Rossview and we will continue to dominate.

"We were one the best teams in 6A last year"- A more accurate statement would be we were better than one team in 6A last year. Rossview was 1-1 in games against 6A teams last season. The last four seasons the Hawks  have been ( 2-8, 1-9, 5-5, 9-1) that's 17-23. Not what most people would consider a Powerhouse. Maybe they will do what a Real Powerhouse team does and win a playoff game next year. Rossview the home of the only Champions that haven't won a championship.

Before you go counting all the wins you'll have next year remember, the Northeast and CHS games were close last year.

It seems that some folks at Rossview don't understand that rules apply to them too.

  6. While all the changes are happening, Rossview is quietly working hard toward another big year. There is a rumor that the running back (Tristan Luke) from Ft Campbell is transferring to the Hawks.

Could that be a result of Rossview expanding it’s recruiting beyond Montgomery county?

  7. First of all, I am a West Creek parent and fan, not Clarksville High. That being said, I will always favor the Coyotes even when they are the underdog. Second, the score was 33-28 Clarksville with the winning score coming in the last moments of the game with help on a PI call. That is hardly a dominate performance against a team that is rebuilding and mediocre at best. I do have ties to Clarksville High through the wrestling program so I keep up with kids I have coached in the past and I will always pull for a guy who worked his tail off in the off-season like the Junior QB that didn't get a chance to show his abilities. I am not against the kid that started, he is a great athlete, but I think if he would have been put in the slot, used as a read option RB or in the wildcat, you could have then used the junior QB to the best of his abilities and had an offense that could get it done on the ground and in the air.

Stop hiding behind your screen name. Tell us what your name really is!

And another thing, the Junior QB did have opportunities to show his abilities, you must have been at the concession stand when he was throwing interceptions and fumbling the ball both of which occured numerous times.

A coach? Not me I have a son in the middle school, that one day may be a Wildcat. I was a supporter of Busbee and feel like he did a great job. I'm not sure I want my son playing at a school where the footbal program is ran by the parents.

First of all, your name must be jcddmoon since you don't hide behind a screen name. Secondly, you did predict West Creek to win by 2 or 3 TD's in a game they lost. Third, CHS didn't start or play their All-American Junior QB and still won the game you predicted they would lose. With your previous track record you must be a true football genius.

  9. Look for Shelby to be named shortly as Head Coach at CHS.  Why would anyone want Busbee for a coach?  He ruined CHS Football.  Went 14-17 in his 3 years at CHS.  Not very good if you ask me. Heck we wanted him out sooner but Admin wouldn't listen.  Now they have and we can get a better coach.  We will have the best backfield tandem at QB and RB.  We will go 10-0 this season with the right coach and make it a long way in the playoffs.  I am with Pilgrim we are on our way to the top.

Yes if we could have more parents like us who stay out of the way, don't get involved with the coaching and support the coaches 100% then it would be great. But you have those parents out there who believe there son should be starting even though they never watch a practice or don't know what is going on.  Or their parents get involved with the booster club thinking that will get their son the starting position.  Need more parents like that.  Those that stay out of the coaches way and don't say anything negative about who ever is the coach.

In your first post you stated "Heck we wanted him out sooner but Admin wouldn't listen.  Now they have and we can get a better coach." Then you claim "Yes if we could have more parents like us who stay out of the way, don't get involved with the coaching and support the coaches 100% then it would be great." To any logical person these comments contradict each other. Pilgrim has made several negative comments about Busbee and the coaching staff during the past season. If Anyway or Pilgrim believe the team will go 10-0 next season I believe they will have no problem finding Someone who is willing to give them a chance to put their money where their mouths are. Hopefully Admin will tell the new coach which parents need their butts kissed so he doesn't get fired.

  10. Where will Busbee and Austin wind up coaching? Busbee was the OC at Montgomery Central and Austin was the DC at Stewart County. Any thoughts?

Busbee might end up at Montgomery Central, I would not be surprised if he joins the Kenwood staff. Austin, well NW does have a DC position posted. Looking in my crystal ball I see a former wildcat returning trading in his blue and gold for the purple and gold of CHS

  11. Although an often over looked position, Clarksville's Kicker will probably be one of the best in the state. He already has D1 offers coming in and can be a game changer.

He consistently can put kick-offs out of the back of the end zone.

Probably averages well over 40 yards on punts (with accuracy)

And he can kick 40+ yard field goals in game situations.

    Mason Gasaway (#18)

Having a good punter will come in handy in the absence of a quarterback. He should get lots of opportunities to punt.

  12. Ok, so the not-so-off season is upon us, the boys are working hard, and sports nutrition has come a long way in recent years.

Which supplements should a High School athlete consider, and which ones should he avoid?

A supplement for the eyes is very important if he has a habit of completing more passes to the other team than his team.

  13. Great game tonight from both teams.

#3 for the Eagles is an impressive player. But he also had the dumbest play of the year with his -30 yard punt return for a safety. But with the win, at least he can laugh about it. I did enjoy watching him play. He must really have some charisma if he can get away with a friendly pat on the butt to a Ref.

WOW! What insight you must be a football genius. Dumbest play of the year? So you've seen every play this year, didn't think so. I saw a couple pick six plays this year that were much "dumber"

  14. Sorry, I’ve been out of town this week.

Clarksville has the talent to beat Henry County. But they are underdeveloped and undisciplined, due to a completely incompetent coaching staff. There is no better way to say it. The players do believe they can beat HC and I suspect a good 1st quarter. But then HC will do what they do best, play four quarters of solid and consistent football.

If by "powers that be" you mean players, parents, alumni, and fans, I'd say they have had enough.

I can't see how they will be back next year. Hopefully they will do the right thing and resign at the end of the year.

As a parent of a child that hopes to one day play for the purple and gold I've attended most of the games. I have recently ran across your many negative posts on Coach T. You sound like a parent that is either not smart enough or unwilling to realize that your kid isnt good enough to get on the feild.(Constantly bad mouthing the coach for who he does and does not choose to play)

I did notice the back-up quaterback against NW, he didn't do bad but nothing close to #2 who has made plays with both his arm and legs all year.

Your quote "underdeveloped and undisciplined, due to a completely incompetent coaching staff"Was not quite what the Henry county coach had to say after the game. And unlike you he was very complimentary about the quarterback play.

"Hopefully they will do the right thing and resign at the end of the year." If you feel so strong about this maybe you should ask them yourself to resign.
