  2. why didnt u kick??? u have a good kicker!!!

and i thought he was playin D when he broke his leg at liberty

When we went for 4th down it was 4th & 1 or 4th & 2 and one of those 4th downs was 4th and goal at the 1 yard line. Our kicker did made a 27 yard field goal, his longest I believe is 39 at Covington. Tried a 41 yarder against JCM, but missed it.

And when that player got hurt, NS was on offense and they turned the ball over around midfield and Liberty went all the way to the NS red zone and he got hurt back at midfield.

  3. very solid...not a lot of deep threats but good route runners that know how to get open...my personal opinion...if ur guys know that NS cant run the ball...then a 1 dimensional offense is easy to stop

i am Believe...and ive seen haywood and south gibson...and theyre both sorry...from all accounts...NS should have lost both games and thats just sad...NS should have blown both teams off the field with size and speed...and both games came down to the final possession and appartenly a few flags

covingtons D is set up to stop the run...NS D did well against our rush attack for 2 quarters...then u lost ur big boy up front and that apparently has destroyed the indian D line

if NS ran the ball so well...why were those games close Believe...south gibson is half ur size with no speed at all and Haywood has no D at all and cant run the ball to save their life

    fill us in pls

With SGC I get what you are saying. SGC played  their hearts out and we played terrible. We will all admit that,  luckily, our speed won the game and South Gibson gave up. Now with Haywood, the game was close, Haywood defense stop NS at the right time. North Side went into the red zone every possession and went for it on 4th down, and they stopped us. If it wasn't for that block that setup the 2 unsportsmanlike penalties, we would've and should've lost that game, which would sent us to Dyersburg and not Covington.

Now our big boy lineman is an offensive lineman only, not defensive. He is done for the year

  4. north side is playing anything but good football right now...teams are giving games away to them...a lack of a run game is going to be their demise in the postseason

this meeting could and should be worse than the 1st

covington headed to dyersburg in week 2...

I thought you were a Liberty person? You can't dictate North Side's  running game by just going to one NS game. NS ran the ball solid against Haywood and South Gibson.

  5. We've predicted the outcome of tomorrow nights games and seeded this class based on our predictions.  Don't expect to get them all right, but we spent a lot of time going over common opponents to derive at this bracket.  Always something you don't expect to happen, will happen.  Hopefully this is close to what you'll see Saturday morning:

    Quad One

    1. Knoxville Fulton (District three (1)

    2. Scott County

    4. Knoxville Carter (District Three (2))

    5. Elizabethton (District One (2))

    2. Sullivan South (District one (1))

    7. Grainger (District two (2))

    3. Greeneville (District Two (1))

    6. Knoxville Catholic (District four (2)

    Quad Two

    1. Hixson (District Six (1))

    8. Chattanooga Central

    4. Sequoyah (District Five (2))

    5. Dekalb County

    2. Signal Mountain (District seven (1)

    7. Marshall County

    3. Giles County (District 12 (2))

    6. East Ridge

    Quad Three

    1.  Pearl Cohn (District Ten (1)

    8. Montgomery Central

    4. Chester County (District 14 (2))

    5. Greenbrier

    2. White House (District Nine (1))

    7. Maplewood

    3. Lexington (District 14 (1)

    6. Page

    Quad Four

    1. Trezevant (District 16 (1))

    8. Haywood County

    4. Craigmont (District 16 (2))

    5. Liberty Magnet (District fifteen (2)

    2. Dyersburg (District 13 (1))

    7. Crockett County

    3. Covington (District fifteen (1))

    6. Jackson Northside

Raleigh-Egypt has forfeited tomorrow's game against Trezevant, which will put the Bears at 9-1 to finish the year. IF Dyersburg beats Martin-Westview tomorrow night, is there any possibility that Dyersburg can take the #1 seed in Quad 4 because of that forfeit? Or will it be just a normal win for Trezevant?

  6. JCM is avg. 23 points per game, but they are giving up an avg. of  30 points per game. Current record is 4-5 (1-3) and will host 7-2 Covington to wrap up the regular season. According to Gerry Bertier, the Cougars will travel to 10-0 Lewis County in the opening round of the playoffs. A sleeper team in the playoffs?

  7. TCAIntense I don't know if Goldsmith will start at running back anywhere else. You got Devin Bush at Liberty, Rodney Clark at JCM, Marcus Maxwell and Freshmen Tedarious Wilson at North Side, and Johnny Jones at Crockett Co. which will start over Goldsmith if Andrew went to those schools. I believe if Goldsmith went to SGC then yes he will start.

And yes, stats wise Kyle Akin is the best QB in West Tennessee. But also with TCA is a spread offense that likes to throw the ball. But I also don't like comparing players because they play different. In other words, yes Kyle has about 2,000+ passing yards, but he also throw the football about 35-50 times a game, if not more.

  8. North Side will win this one. North Side defense is pretty good at stopping the run.  And I did attend the SGC/USJ game, and SGC just didn't have the athletes and speed to keep up with North Side. In order for South Gibson to win they will need to create turnovers and throw the ball to Airan Reed more often and give him a chance, and out execute NS.

And Noah, I did like y'all halftime show by the way. Enjoyed it a lot.

  9. So, there is still a lot to be determined as far as playoff seeding. Will this still be up in the air after week 9?

No. If Bolivar, Ripley, and South Side lose on Friday, they are done. If Obion losses to Milan on week 10, 50% chance they will not make it into the playoffs. If JCM lose to South Side, they are done because they will have to beat Covington, which will be hard, but who knows.

  10. The only team in 3A that could beat Dyersburg is Alcoa and that would be a good game.  North Side would probably win at least a couple of games in the 3A playoffs if not more.  Don't let those two teams be a measuring stick for how you would do.  Wouldn't it be a great thing to make the playoffs and pick up the first playoff win in the programs history???  So what if you don't get another one..... that would still be a nice accomplishment for your program.

North Side and Dyersburg are both 4A teams.

  11. The JCM/South Side game is a must win for both teams. JCM is number 29 of 32 and they will host Covington in week 10, so the win will keep their playoff hopes alive. For South Side, they are at 44 and they would need to be in the top 32 to get in, basically in order for the Hawks to get in, all of the marbles need to fall in their place.

Chester County is in, they do need to beat USJ and McNairy Central to help their seeding at least.

Obion Central is number 31 of 32. The Rebels are off this Friday, and they are hosting Milan in week 10, basically a win and in situation.

Bolivar needs to beat Hardin County and South Side. The Tigers are number 38.

And Ripley Tigers are done, they are number 36, but they have Dyersburg (7-1) and Liberty ( a very good 5-4 team) at home.

dhstennis you playoff thing is correct, however by the playoffs start, I do believe Haywood and Craigmont will swap seeds, despite Craigmont plays at MUS on Friday.

  12. congrats on the win...could not believe it was that close...

well played by ripley...did not think u had it in u
