That is a flat ridiculous statement regarding the lack of great quarterbacks.

 

Quarterback talent has not been a problem at db.

 

Going back A few years, Nick Showalter was a high school all American.

 

As a matter of fact we had a great qb in Duran Ferguson the night we lost to Karns. We were ranked number 1 that night and lost to a perennial doormat. I tend to blame that one on the offensive coordinator, though. Also had Chase Flannery in the backfield that night.

 

If you are capable of out-coaching yourself in a loss to Karns, you are capable of losing to anybody.

bingo that loss to karns was like a playoff game when seed 1 at home 4 out of last 5 times getting beat by teams just happy to still to play another game now those teams are pumped up if they draw db because the coach choking jobs are always just waiting to happen should he step down oh yes he should and give the football team a chance to perform they way the band does in style and always being on top of there game impressing everyone and making everyone proud time to go nothing last forever

bruce you have a dandy memory about all the good times but most db fans can only remember the last decade of disasters that never end you know we have been thru this before and i see that you are one of those people thats holding the program back not helping its like being someone who enables an addict they just keep hoping that things will get better but it only gets worse and everybody else can see your wrong but you can't its time for a new day and with the load of good players coming up a change at coach can expect total support and the db fans will start expecting to win big games again instead of expecting and getting another coach choke after coach choke because of trying to set on a lead and loosing mo and then panic time means choke time db has always been a winner it's time to make a change nothing lasts forever

and maybe ballard at head coach?????

db needs to clean house not keep house  nothing lasts forever its time and its past time and ballard is who I called for weeks ago and carter at the hill wouldn't come to db he hates db and db would not have him db hates carter

lets just hope db has a new fired up coach to fill those seats up with fans that can believe again that the coaching will be good enough to win the big games and then name the field after the a 200+ game winner

texas coach brown just manned up he wasn't getting it done anymore and he knew and so did everybody else he is a great guy loves the school and the fans and he stepped aside to let a new coach give it a try that's what db needs out of there head ball coach do whats best for the school and the program and let a new coach give it a try nothing last forever

bruce your not thinking of the students the parking lot is great for young drivers who drive as bad as the coaching is in big games and it is mucheasier for them to pull into diagonal parking spaces than parallel and it is much easier for them to back out of diagonal spaces and after all that's what that parking lot is for the accident rate in the parking lot is more than half what it was before the upgrade

parking lot is better than it was and the band director is the best and the facilities are over the top and the weigh room was going to put our team over the top and the stadium will be the best you ever saw and the talent in college and the pros is better than anybody around and still the coaching is loosing every big game wen they have the better team an he lead 4 out of the last 5 times as a 1 seed loosing at home in the 1st round to 5-5 teams and those big game losses are always blown leads chocking coaching you gotta say enough is enough he should man up and check out and let anybody else try they could of had a raffle to see who coaches the big games and had at least the same results and prob better everybody is all about the students and the best thing for the student athlete football player that wants to play for a chance at a title is to get a new coach cause this one don't get it done and the majority of the fans expect a loss in every big game wih every lead in a big game and the coaching is not disappointing them nothing last forever

Your in the minority mr wayne theres a growing group of fans that are fed up with watching the more talented team and better team get out coached and beat with sorry coaching when it is put up or shut up time not just ever once in a while but ever time people are starting to figure out that our coaching is not nearly as good as they think they are nothing last for ever and he should accept the fact that he can't get it done not anymore you may be ok with winning local games but most fans want to play games past Halloween

goggles or blinders is the question here most db fans see exactly whats going on with the coaching staff and I don't get it   there is an nra size minority that has all the power and they all have blinders on because of local polititcs and buddies and because they all like going 45 an 5 every 5 years and they are happy being the bid dog in the area and that's sux  jimmy carter was a nice guy he still is he builds houses for charity and does work himself and is a great guy but when you say was he a good leader of the country the answer is that he was awful and couoldnt get it done and he didn't get to keep the prez job he got booted out so he could be a nice guy nothing last forever and its time that somebody else gives it a shot because db should have in the past and should in the next couple of season be the best team not just thru october but into december

DB could do a whole lot worse and I'd bet money with history and the person that would do that hiring,DB would be in a lot worse shape by a bunch if coach were to step down

 

2 coaches in 1 is what db has had  1 coach went after it and was agressive the 2nd coach has been around way to long and he is not the same coach   u said db could have done a lot worse but i say they could have done a whole lot better  to sit and watch the stronger team loose game after game when the season is on the line is crap its not once in a while its not half the time it is almost every time that game comes around and they come around every year and now those choking coach jobs are starting to happen in the season   1 seed teams dont loose 4 out of 5 times in round 1 at home they just dont no where in any sport does that happen but it has happened and this coach is why its time to give somebody else a chance nothing last forever db was a great football school before this coach and they will be a great football school after too 

Since 2001 it's 13-12. I don't think that should bring about the release of your coach after compiling a regular season record of 113-17 in the same period. You people up there are crazy if you want to get rid of your coach.

well i counted it up for the last 10 seasons and its not good for the coach in the playoffs    clark has earned 6 round1 losses in a decade and you can look at the schedules on coacht just like i did and just like you did too and see that 4 years the team was dominant and winning all season long and seeded 1 in the playoffs and then loose at home in the round 1 against teams that should be going thru the motion wins and all of the 5 home playoff losses in the last decade was db being a 1 seed and loosing 4 in round 1 and 1 in round 2. that is crap and everybody is sick and tired of it  db has had plenty of good enough players you can see that when they are playing college and pro football more than any other team around   its not the players cause new players come and go every year but the way db is loosing big football games dont change  its the same imo  everytime  coach gets a lead and freaks out at halftime and comes out in the 3rd qtr and dont even look like the same team and go into a shell and then panic and choke and its on the coaching  db has a huge fan base and a great school and great band and the biggest crowds and they should get a chance to see if somebody else can do better  nothing last forever just call it a good ride and end it and when db opens up their bigger and better stadium they can name the field after him?

You don't know jack about it if you look at those losses real close you can see that 4 or 5 was as #1 seed getting beat at home in 1st round with easy games and everyone of those losses were games that DB had won and didn't finish and it is all on the coach and if you look at other losses I bet you see more home losses to lower seeded teams that the games were in hand and counted ad wins by dominating until the panic sets in like the bearden game and like Morristown east and the list just keeps going when you think about the playoff losses only 2 i can think of that they just got beat by a better team and both was against maryville

all the rest were games that should have and was won but choked up like a hair ball by the coaching not the players and now most everybody in the stands expect them to fold up like a lawn chair when a rough game comes along or not even a tough game but a win or go home game and he is delivering those losses as sure as beating up on crap teams around here

Maybe you should call the Kingsport City Schools System and let them know you are interested in the Head Coaching job at DB. Season is over and we will regroup and try it again next year. ROLL TRIBE ROLL!!!!!

we are all pulling for the same team here I don't have any wants to coach but I do see the same thing that most db football fans see maybe not you but most everybody else has seen about enough of the same old crap db keeps putting guys in college and pro ball and they keep beating the snot out of the teams it don't matter about but when you get down to fighting a school your own size and when it matters the most it seems like the db coaching is done by halftime and panic time always comes out more and more when it's time for a big play the right play that's when everybody ends up scratching there heads and wonder why there in shotgun with 3rd down and 1 and then the same thing on 4th an 1 and it's not going to change because it has gone on for more than 10 years now some say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome and it never changes and thats crazy most fans think the worst is going to happen in a big game anymore and they have all the reason in the world to think that coach in green county is winning big games and championships that all I was saying about that he is a good coach and I bet he would pay us for a chance to beat maryville in the playoffs nothing lasts forever

We do not need to fire Coach Clark what we need is somebody that can teach and Coach defense like it was back in the Coach Watson days. The defensive coordinator we have now is not aggressive like Coach Watson was and that is what we need to get back too. Only problem I have with Coach Clark is when he gets in tough games such as the playoffs he tends to coach not to lose and not to win. We need him to have the killer instincts. He is a great person first and foremost and he is also a great coach,he just needs to get the fire and passion back in his coaching. Looking forward to the next few years with this Indian team.

No don't fire the coach the coach should turn in his keys and bow out and call it a good run that's over and let somebody else take it to the next level all of those teams Watson coached defense for couldn't get it done in the playoffs really not saying it was the defenses fault sometimes it was but most of the time DB lost those games cause of coaching not to loose and now they are loosing those games in the season too not just the playoffs I think there was 3 maybe 4 games this year that were wins in hand that coaching lost i mean games that db was winning and dominated but they went in the turtle shell and choked and when you do it over and over again just like that it is not the players fault and now the fans all can feel it happening before it even does and they start expecting it to happen not many fans that think DB has the best coach around here anymore great guys step aside when it's right time to do it even though they might still love what there doing logos and legends don't win championships but good hungry aggressive coaching does the green devils have that kind of a coach

Maybe not the best examples with a couple of teams.How long has it been since Fulmer got fired now.How long has it been since the Dolphins won it all.The Cowboys did have some good years with a couple of the Jones boys but I swear I can't remember when they won it all last.Sometimes a change might be good but sometimes you back up a step or two.

I don't say things the way I think things what I was saying in a round about way is

All of those guys were great coaches for a long time but at one point they stopped being a great coach and started being a team fixture like the logo or something. They didn't coach to win championships anymore and they stopped being thought of as a great coach when your coaching for your ego and your numbers then its time to let somebody else give it a try. It's hard for some of the greats to realize the game passed them by or they lost there edge and when that happens those teams suffer because or if.

It's time and past time for a change because the program reminds me of how UT played in Fulmers last years and how he dolphins played during Shulas last years ad how the cowboys played in Landrys last years and how the indians played during Walton's last years Fans don't have any confidence that the coach will win a tough game anymore and you can see that in the coaches to they don't think they can win when it comes to finishing a game a coach shouldn't stay coaching when his coaching is holding the team back even tho the talent is good enough to win those games
