  1. I’d much rather be Huntingdon in this game. Greenfield is the obvious favorite. With two Miss basketball candidates on the same team you should win the state. That’s when things start getting a little tough though.  Huntingdon comes out with nothing to lose and no pressure. According to some of their own fans they are poorly coached just lucky to be here;)  Despite these dire circumstances I’m going to give us a punchers chance. Go Fillies!

I just say what I think . I just have an opinion and you know what that's worth. Farris plays good pressure defense. He uses his speed on defense well though he's giving up a few to many long passes which he can stop by making a few adjustments. # 30 great centerfielder when put in the right position. His offense is where we differ. He doesn't use his speed enough to please me. He takes his time taking the ball out of bounds when he ought to be shooting lay ups. We don't shoot the 3 well as our shooting technique is awful. Substitution policy also disturbed me. # 14 never comes out. We should have closed the game out last night but # 14's legs were gone. Also we have a very good backup post that never plays meaningful minutes. With all this said I hope Farris can pull this off because nobody wants a championship more than the genius. I know a little about winning. I played on 2 undefeated football teams and a 26-3 basketball team that beat every team we played my senior year. I love the Mustangs and want them to be the very best.

So how far did you guys go in the state tourney? Did y’all do set shots?

Here is the deal with this guy I know him I’ve talked to him several times at games and other places. He and some of the older men he hangs around with can solve any and everything wrong with everything in the schools sports program. It’s people like this in every little small across America who “think they are important” is what’s wrong. It’s the type of people who you could win 15 state titles in 20 years and they’d find away to not be happy about it. It’s like it’s not about the kids/team unless their kid is the “star”. If you don’t like how a coach is coaching don’t show up or if you do show up shut and support the kids it’s not about you anymore it’s about the kids still competing.

Amen, amen and amen! We got way too many of these guys. And by the way, we only have one state championship in the history of our school. Let’s go Fillies! Make it two!!

  4. Unlike some on here. I for one am enjoying the Mustangs performance this year. If we are winning we always have our Huntingdon apologist on here who say the others teams are down. It's comical. There are always those not happy with their own towns success. Losers if you will. Huntingdon, much like Dresden last year is just hard to stop plain and simple. Their defense is undersized but play very hard. Enjoy it boys, just like Dresden did last year and UC in the past. I for one am hoping this thing goes till December and we do turn into the dominant force in west tn.

The playoffs are "water down" and will be "water down" until the TSSAA does something about it, which I doubt. Having 9 classifications is too much. Spreading teams out left and right. I think it is Region 7-3A or Region 8-3A (the one that Fayette-Ware is in) that only have four teams. Last year, having Booker T Washington playing at Dresden and having Middleton playing at Union City in the opening round of the playoffs is totally uncalled for. No disrespect to Middleton and BTW. No disrespect to Huntingdon as well, but having Nashville Christian heading to D2 helps their chances a lot, also with Dresden losing 20+ seniors and Wayne County losing Rice as QB. Winning or going deep in the playoffs is not as deserving anymore as it sounds. West Tennessee (outside of Memphis) is having an awful of football. Our "Brand" is just not good. Maybe the Z-Plan was a good idea. Who knows. Sometimes, the grass isn't greener on the other side, it's green where you water it. Also, teams play a "game" within the "game."

Don’t tell the players and coaches who work their tails off that a deep run is not deserved. I totally agree the private schools need to be separated. Sometimes things just fall your way. I know in Huntingdons case we’ve had years that didn’t.

  6. It's all about matchups with Huntingdon. I don't think we've outsized anyone up front this year in any classification. Huge size disadvantage this week. Visually it will be comical. Milan passing game will be decent but nothing compared to Waverly. Their running game will be on par with Waverly both with big backs. The difference will be what the Milan O line is able to do with our small d line. Waverly was a little frustrated. Running is not what they set out to do. Running is what Milan does. If they start whipping us bad up front it will be a long night. If we can get some stops and force milan to throw they'll be in for a long night. Comes down to defense, always does.

Its Bruceton. Not much to talk about. I know alot goes into Homecoming. Floats are worked on all week, parade, bonfire, class activities, Homecoming Court. You would think with 100% chance of heavy rain Friday they would move it to another home game but Im not in administration so who knows

What home game would you recommend they move it too Brian? I'm assuming you have a plan. Let's hear it.

  8. Thanks you, yes. Huntingdon is very young at the skill positions mostly sophomores and the lineman are mostly jrs. They've played two very good undefeated teams very tough. With youth comes mistakes. Some nights will look great and other nights they will go backwards. Once they turn the corner though you better hang on, it gonna be wild. These kids are already battle tested. Per season tca, south Gibson and Lexington. Then union city and Martin. That corner could be this Friday night!!

  9. I would say much more than an ok coach. Our talent level here was way down when he came back. No more Donalds, bells, or weathers. No more Gordons, Tates, or Jamisons. We've manipulated offense and defense with lesser talent. Lower numbers  in our school system and playing the best in higher classifications. Got us to a state championship on what everyone thought would be a disaster year. Yes, you have bashed but you would be better served sticking to writing those moronic "scripts" about games. Its Jimmys and Joes not x's and o's.

  11. I will say huntingdon. Weve been beaten by two undefeated teams. The west Carroll game being sandwiched in between union city and Camden is a sleeper for us the last three years, perfect time for a let down. If huntingdon played Camden's schedule they'd very likely be unbeaten.
