Well Im very surprised a kid is ineligible, but yet McKamey isn't even suspended for a game???? A kid who was more than likely told by McKamey that it is ok to practice since you will be enrolled next year...trusted a coach & then hes in trouble, but the coach basically receives zero punishment. He's the one who broke the rule & yet he doesn't have to miss a game or a pay a fine. 

 

Also, did the TSSAA not notice that the week Clinton chose to not practice is the week after 2 a days??? Which means they didn't want to miss the most important week...they will get everything installed & then they will do weight lifting & a lot of film study. Although, I believe the TSSAA describes practice as any kind of film study or chalk talk as well. So keep an eye on that.

 

Keep an eye on them, they will find a way to practice & watch out...when they get that indoor facility finished he will practice year round. 

Miner didn't practice with Clinton until all his paperwork went through and he was a student at Clinton when they scrimmaged Maryville.

I hear Coach McKamey still thinks he is at a recruiting er I mean private school. Letting a kid that is enrolled & attending classes at Anderson County high school go through full pad spring practices with the Clinton Dragons. Maybe he doesn't remember how public schools work or just said F**k the TSSAA. Mans got some balls!!

Great man, great coach. He impacted a lot of lives, which is more important than any win/loss record.....but his win/loss record was very impressive as well. RIP Coach

There are 5 schools getting artificial turf in Knox County for next season & this includes brand new goal post for each of those schools. You might be able to get ahold of them & get their old ones. South Doyle & Carter are the 2 already under way & 3 more will get them. Not sure which ones, but this might help.

I haven't seen a single Knox County schedule listed on here. I have seen all of the Anderson County/Blount County schedules, but am curious about Knox County.

Looks like Carter is looking for a new coach. They just lost a good one & it looks like it is basically because kids can't handle being coached these days. With that being said who might go after it?

 

Anyone know Carters schedule for next season? I haven't seen any Knox county schedules posted.

If Heritage contains the Halls QB Heritage will win.

My money is on Rodney Ellison or Matt Price

Well I believe both are good coaches, but lets think about this.

 

First, Kerr is still the coach, but if a change occurs.....

 

Matt Price is Kerrs brother in law, don't think he would go after that job. Also, I am not sure you will ever see Justin & Matt coach opposite of each other.

 

Ellison is in a major rebuilding situation at Powell, probably more of a rebuilding job than he realized it would be. But, I don't see him trying to leave Powell before he has a chance to see the results of the work he is putting in.

 

My money is on Clinton trying to get Scotty Herrell to leave Oak Ridge & come back home or to get McKamey from GCA.

Looks like every school in the state now has their numbers in. Someone go make all the classes official now, assuming all D2s go private. 

You guys need to worry about how many players & coaches will be suspended for the opener this year after that 7v7 brawl at Maryville College.

Officials are held accountable and are graded. They do the best they can. Everybody sees things differently. It is not an easy job.

. They are not held accountable. Coaches can grade them & supervisors watch them & try to help them improve but they can't really do anything to them because they don't have enough officials to go round on Friday nights! With that being said the TSSAA is a bunch of darn idiots for even considering this. At the college & NFL level where the officials are amazing they have to use instant replay to determine if an ejection is justifiable. So you are telling me we are going to let high school officials (who are just doing the best they can) cost a kid 2 games of his short high school career on a judgment call without replay? If the best officials in the world need replay for this one how can the worst ones make that call without it??

Adalum.....I mean this as no disrespect to Coach Courtney, but it sounds to me that you are just jealous because Coach Taylor has been closer to a state championship than Farragut has ever been!

Packer sports went to pilot with a plan. With his Thursday night games looking grim because schools are losing gate, Packer pitched the idea with hopes it would help continue his production. Easy write off for Pilot, this is more about Packer sports. Read the Knox news article and you will figure the slimness out. I am glad though all the schools are getting taken care off. Hope all the mid field logos aren't so bland as the few I've seen.

Just read an article about these teams scheduling 11th games for their season & all proceeds go to benefit 2 children with illness. This is the 4th year of this event, looks like some good matchups & a great cause.

 

Tonight it kicks off at 7pm with 1-9 Powell vs 2-8 Lenoir City. 2 programs that are building with Powell earning their first victory last week.

 

Saturday has a few interesting matchups as well. 11 am 4-6 McMinn Co. vs 6-4 David Crockett.

 

2:30 pm 4-6 Tellico Plains vs 3-7 West Greene

 

7 pm 2-8 Loudon vs 4-6 Sequoyah.

 

Not the best teams in the state, but some pretty even matchups & maybe a sneak peek into the 2016 seasons for them. 

 

$8 at the gate to benefit these children. Good luck to all teams involved.

I will pick Clinton in a close one. CC is a big pysical team this year, but Clinton has the Thackerson edge.
