Each team will receive elite coaching through intense practices and competitive tournaments. Each team is guaranteed six tournaments; minimum of one practice per week. Tryouts are REQUIRED for placement on a club team. Every coach is certified and trained; all coaches are current high school/middle school coaches and/or played college basketball! Season duration will be 3-4 months, depending on the age group; early March to mid-June for 6th-8th grade teams; late-March through mid-late June for local 9th-10th grade teams. Travel Teams To Be Formed: Boys - 6th Grade (1 Team) -Tryouts are Feb. 16 and Feb. 22 Boys - 7th Grade (2 Teams) - Tryouts are Feb. 16 and Feb. 22 Boys - 8th Grade (1 Team) - Tryouts are Feb. 16 and Feb. 22 Boys - 9th Grade (2 Teams: TEAM SOUTH - Williamson/Davidson County and TEAM NORTH - Sumner/Davidson County) - Tryouts are March 1 and March 3. Boys -10th Grade (3 Teams: 2 TEAM SOUTH and 1 TEAM NORTH) - Tryouts are March 2 and March 9. All players MUST register online for tryouts. Upward Stars is forming club/travel basketball teams in the greater Nashville area for current 6th-10th grade boys. Upward Stars has an intentional focus of developing each player mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially. Since the birth of Upward Stars in 2012 (SC and NC), the organization has experienced much success with club teams and athletes: Travel teams have won 11 MAJOR Tournaments Over 40 college scholarship offers 17 players received Division I or II commitments Two players were invited to the NBA Top 100 Camp A Premiere Stars Team was ranked in the top 25 by Five Stars Basketball Our goal is to provide quality basketball instruction/coaching and to mentor young men, building athletes of strong character, self-esteem, confidence, and spirit.
