Yep great coaching and scheme tonight......Dependence on the big play came back to haunt you tonight.......Irish got outplayed, out schemed and out coached Booger. Not the first whipping the boys in blue have laid on Fant and his Leprechauns. Believe in Fant's first year, the Chargers rolled off the bus in Chattanooga to a victory.....ND has some really good players----but big drop off when #3 got hurt......Lots of Green picking themselves up after plays.....Ran into some Warhorse football tonight....

I almost didn't go to the game tonight because I've been sick a few days, but glad now that I went. Very proud of our team AND coaches.

is Oak Ridge a joke?

I seriously don't know, but usually they are pretty good.

 

According to Sonny Moore's computer poll, all 3 are in the top 9 teams & Oak Ridge is still in top 9 as well. I usually find old Sonny to be fairly accurate (I didn't say perfect) this late in the year.

A blind hog can find an acorn every now and then. I was in Athens to see the Cherokees win and I'm glad McMinn beat Oak Ridge, but that game will be meaningless come playoff time. You people are too sensitive to someone's opinion. It's a good district with some good teams but I guarantee you that this district won't have more than one team left in the Elite 8 of the playoffs and that will be Rhea - if they make it, which I believe they will.

How many teams from this district have been in the state championship game or even in the final 4 of the state playoffs the past 10 years?

I laugh when these hoot-owl fans get on here and boast of their team's self-ordained prowess. In their minds their team is invincilble, and they excuse every loss as being the ref's fault, or if a certain player had played, yadda, yadda, yadda. I think they'll beat McMinn, to which we'll then hear them brag about beating a state-ranked team, and how every team in the state will fear them. LOL

WHEN I LOOK AT THE MCMINN SCHEDULE IT IS LACED WITH A BUNCH OF CUPCAKES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BRADLEY WHO TOOK YOUR CHICKENWINGT TO THE WOODSHED . OAKRIDGE SAY THAT THEIR LINE PLAY ON BOTH SIDES WAS POOR AND I KNEW WHEN THEY CAME TO YOUR HOUSE THERE WAS NO WAY THEY WIN THAT GAME IF IT WAS CLOSE. BUT I STILL CONSIDER THEM A CONTENDER. WALKER VALLEY LEAD THE ENTIRE GAME UNTIL THE END BEFORE AN INJURY OCCURRED TO THE QB AND YOU WON BY 3.THEY ARE POTENTIAL CONTENDERS. CLEVELAND IS INJURED BUT STILL IN CONTENTION FOR THAT LAST SPOT FOR THE PLAYOFFS. NOW RHEA RUNS THE CHICKENWINGT TO PERFECTION BUT CAN'T DEFEND THE PASS. THAT WON'T BE A PROBLEM WITH YOU.. Three teams from that district in the top 10 is a joke. Other than Rhea, none of the other district teams have a chance of making it to the quarterfinals.

Might have something to do with him not go through spring, summer workouts, fall camp, etc. Not very fair to the kids that put in the work and effort during that period. He was stopped on an end around in the 1st Q but had nice plays in the 2nd half against their JV. They put him in early but I guess since Jackson was averaging 6-8 yards a carry they stuck with that?

The coaches asked him to play. When he decided to play, he should have been given every opportunity whether or not he practiced in the spring and summer. Saying it isn't fair doesn't cut it with me if he's a better athlete who's already put in several weeks of practice. Is it fair to him to not be used since the coaches asked him to play? Life isn't always fair, and at their age it should be known by all players that if someone is better then they'll play more. If Brice is more athletic, faster, and quicker than other players playing the same position he needs to be used more than he has, is all I'm saying.

I'm not knocking Jackson at all. However, his 85 first half yards came against Alcoa's defensive starters AND backups. I'm a defensive guy and watched Alcoa play several defensive linemen, ends, and linebackers the first half - not sure about their secondary. Not much of a step down in talent with their defensive players though, so credit goes to our offensive line and Jackson's running.

What's the deal with them not using Brice Mason more than they have? It does not make sense to not be using his speed and quickness.

It appears everyone agrees that Ryan can't coach.

Anything can happen in this game. Either could blow the other out. It could be close. Turnovers could hurt. Special teams. Plays. Anything is possible. What I hope is both play to their abilities and the best team wins. And they stay healthy.

Anything can happen, but if it's close in the 4th qtr. I'd rather have Cleveland's head coach making decisions than Walker Valley's. I pick Cleveland based on coaching alone.

Are you sure he got 100 in the first half? I know he carried a lot and I know Alcoa started subbing after they got ahead 14-0, but it would surprise me if he had 100 the first half.

Why aren't the Central coaches using the quickest and probably fastest player on the team, Brice Mason?

To the Central coaches and players: Show some heart and pride this week, even in a losing cause!

If Ryan is still WV's coach, I'll go with Cleveland.

This game pretty much did it for me.  I like coach Goodin, but if he loves the program he needs to resign at the end of the season.  There have been too many times our team hasn't been prepared, and that falls back on coaching.  When it's homecoming, and one of your biggest rivals (a smaller school) comes in and destroys you this way, and your team just lays there and takes it, it's time to hang it up.

Meigs has better coaches and will win.

The Chargers have a new weapon in number 5 who's a threat to take it to the house when he has the ball. I hope coach Goodin starts using him more now that he's practiced a few weeks.

Polk almost beat us at Central a couple years ago when we had one of our best teams and they had one of their worst teams, all because of the rivalry.  Should be a good crowd.

Is this his 5th year as head coach?  Sad to think WV fans are stuck with him, but it is in the Bradley Co. school system, so the politics are understood.

I mentioned a few days ago that in spite of the experience and talent, Coach Ryan finds a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  McMinn coach Cagle probably hopes Walker Valley will never fire him.

  Our Tigers wil put up a fight. Jut know it will be a uphill battle in Jasper vs the refs the whistle and Santa Clause.....LOL

I wish my Tiger fan friend's team good luck, but I think it will take more than the Tigers can provide to beat Marion.  One major thing is whether Tigers can forget the severe beat down they took last year against Marion? If they go into this game too tight and tense, they'll get beat again bad.
