Ok correct me if I am wrong. Your top 10 teams are either open enrollment or private school. How do other teams compete againt that. All you need is either money or a form of transportation to attend those schools.

Beech is the best young team, probably still 1 year away from hanging with WC or Bradley. Ryan will be down a little this year, but still strong, and have Eli King (2nd best wrestler in the state pound for pound) for his last season. Their kids program only had a couple of placers in AAU and has been pretty weak the last couple of years in youth wrestling.

 

Baylor is down as well. Won't compete with Bradley or Ryan. McCallie will be their usual 4th or 5th in DII and top 20 overall. Watch out for MBA flying under the radar. Several underachievers that could surprise people. TN high, like Beech, will open some eyes in the next couple of years.

 

Cleveland probably has the best kids club in the state but is rebuilding and won't see those fruits for two years.

Anyone in the Middle Tennessee area care to confirm if Bray is looking for another coach. From what I heard Heath is done coaching.

I hear that Blackman High is looking for an Asst. Coach. A little friend told me that Heath is done coaching.

They haven't really wrestled since middle school.

How could you say he would have not won it again this year. I am tired of you bashing Nick because of you "love" for Sammy. It's getting old.

 

Sammy will not be going due to family issues and Coach Eslinger asking him to stay home to take care of that. Boykin would not have won both this year IMO especially if Sammy was there.

What is the difference in recruiting and open enrollment in public schools. With open enrollment all the parents have to do is provide transportation. Bradley County School and Wilson have that huge advantage.

There should be some good MS action tonight as Richview and Tullahoma both visit Blackman.

The MTSU MS duals on Saturday should also be competitive as Spring Station will meet a number of Central Tennessee Wrestling Conference teams.

How did that work out for Blackman, wrestling two strong teams in the same night. Can't really cushion your record like that. I think Richview and Beech beat them last year pretty bad.

My stab at it, with what happened last season.  Not sure with A-AA schools.  I'm not sure with the regions left out.  Region 6 could be a toss up this season, along with Region 8.  Not too familiar with Region 3.  Let's start the discussion

AAA Region 5 not even close. Maybe last year but this year they don't stand a chance.

 It happens everywhere, with open enrollment all parents have to do is provide transportation and there child can attend that school. Wilson Central has been doing it for years in wrestling. 

Dont forget live wrestling at Blackman every Tuesday afternoon at 5pm.  Open to all high school wrestlers.

Are there anymore? I think we have a lot of kids that could wrestle at the next level with several that could wrestle at the DI level  or top DII schools. Have any of the following signed?

Ezra Taylor, Binns, Hamilton, Oliver, Kennedy, Sutherland, Seagraves, Kiel Russell, Wesnofske?,

I heard Binns is headed to MTSU and Kennedy is walking on at Pitt. 

They all should be free.

Why should they be free, Bray you pay your assistant coaches. Summer coaches need paid also.

Riverdale is already loaded for years to come plus a huge feeder program in Christiana Middle with plenty of talent.  Blackman loses 4 DI athletes this year.  Blackman does not sub much and most have little to no experience outside of Dangerfield and Bond for next year.  Ditto with Oakland outside of Gibson and Eubank.  Out of these teams, Riverdale is setting the best and more than likely the 7-AAA favorite and beyond for 15-16, 16-17 and 17-18

Warrior Fan that is the stupidest comment I have ever read on here. Blackman Middle has had a great team over the last several years and they feed Blackman High. Riverdale's coaches and players need to realize what they have done to the county and the game of basketball. The players knew what they were doing and enjoyed it. I was at the game and I demanded my money back and was told a game is a game. From the football booster program to the basketball team, I think Rutherford County need to look deeper into this school. The principal needs to be held accountable, he has been there long enough to know the rules.

Siegel lost to Blackman 44-30 on Tuesday in its final regular season match. However, the Stars had a different lineup than its regular starters. But Ramsey said everyone should be good for the region. (DNJ comments ^^^^^^^^) 

How many JV wrestlers did Siegel start, Coach Ramsey's comments in the DNJ leads me to believe if he started all his varsity wrestlers he would have won. Very Bold Statement Coach!!!

At the halls tournament and all I hear about is how hard the 160 class is but it seems to me king and garrison are overrated.

To me Beech and Blackman as teams are overrated. 

District 9 champion is Tullahoma and District 10 is Siegel. Duals will be Siegel vs Coffee Co and Tullahoma vs Cookeville @Oakland for Region 5.

What happened to the overrated Blackman Blaze team.

I know this is about private schools; however, Sommers brings up Wilson Central, which he always does, which is a public school that has open zoning.  Does open zoning qualify for private schools?  What exceptions have occurred?  What year will Wilson Central will be the best private school wrestling program?  What year was the exception?

We had separation from private and public school because TSSAA was afraid of private schools recruiting. And that was not fair to the public schools. We all know that's why it happened. With Wilson Central being a open zoning school what's the difference in that and what the private schools used to do. Real public schools have zones the have to go by. If all public school had open zoning then WC would not be half as strong.

Are you seriously putting him up there with Debien, come man that is crazy. I am not saying he wont get there but I saying he is not there yet. That's the problem someone has 1 good season and people compare them to the Elite. Coffetalk why don't you rate the Elite wrestlers still in school from 1 to 10 if you can.

Are they starting football programs in Chattanooga this year. They wrestle in Chat town they don't play football.
