Maybe you should s stick to playing the guitar. I know for a fact Watertown is a better team. We had them beat several times. We let them off the hook and then the last game we wanted to lose. Goodpasture is overrated and their coach knows nothing about softball. We are going to beat Whitwell by four runs today. If you know so much about softball in East Tennessee then you would know that Silverdale threw that game. Goodpasture is going to get beat and the third base coach gets under my skin. He wouldn't even pitch to my daughter because he knows shes the best player. Tired of all the cheating up in Nashville anyway glad to be going to Chattanooga so we don't get cheated. Watertown lady tigers on the way to Murfreesboro.

Couple questions/observations:

1: if Goodpasture is such a horrible team and has a horrible coach then what does that make your team and coach? They lost 4 times this year to them. And from the looks of it the same pitcher all 4 times!!

2: If you know so much about softball then why aren't you the coach?

3: I guess "wanting to lose the last game" was a ploy to have your season conclude early because y'all got hammered by a stout Whitwell team! Or did you let them off the hook also?

4: It's probably good for Goodpasture that you picked Silverdale to win because you've been wrong so many times already no one could help you !

4: it sounds like you are butt hurt from getting beat down by the same team and pitcher, 4 times this year! I mean come on.

Just got word that Asst. Coach Amanda Cross has been named Head Coach.

Any names yet to take over? Any BB talent there to work with?

I think Lynn Dearing (Volleyball Coach) has agreed to take over on an interim basis for next year.  Most of the talent is in the 7-8th grade. Next year will be difficult.

Hearing some rumblings that the Asst. Coach is the front runner for the position. Several good candidates have inquired though.

Knox Grace, North Greene, Oneida, South Pittsburg, Boyd Buchanan, Watertown, Goodpasture, MTCS, Peabody, Community. Summertown, Forrest, Columbia Academy, Clarksville Academy, Jackson Christian, Scotts Hill, and Decatur Riverside

I might replace Oneida with Rockwood and then take Watertown off. Don't see them getting past Goodpasture, Boyd Buchanan or South Pittsburg. Other than that I like those choices.

Last year it came down to Goodpasture and Jackson Christian.  Are those teams going to make it again or will someone else?  Columbia Academy, Summertown, Boyd Buchanan, others?

What happened to Goodpasture? I've never seen a team/program fall off the map so quick. 2 years ago they were one if the best programs in the state in ANY classification and this was consistent for over 10-15 years.

 

Can some of the GP people in the know fill us in?

Not a GP person but I know several.  From what I've heard they are VERY young.  Mostly Soph., Freshman and 8th graders. Give them another year and they'll be back up there!

Funny that is shows on the Goodpasture Volleyball page that Summertown split two games with Goodpasture on 8-16-14 with Summertown winning 25-23 in game one and Goodpasture winning 25-17 in game two. Goodpasture took both JV games on the same day.

Jim Carter from Mt. Juliet has taken the head coaching position at Goodpasture.

Coach Estep has resigned and is taking over at Columbia Academy (his alma mater).

That was a great game. Both teams manufacturing runs in a low scoring game.

It was a great game!  Still can't figure out the pickoff attempt at 1st to allow the game winning run to score?

Incorrect. The catcher on that team played on the middle school team. He is in the 8th grade. No other member of the Goodlettsville LL team is at Goodpasture. The pitcher is at Davidson Academy where he has been for many years.

That's right.  I knew he was at GP but couldn't remember if he was on the JV or Middle School team.

No LLWS players on Goodpasture's team.

I think the Catcher from that LLWS team is on the JV team.

Is the post season ban only for the baseball team?  I am sure it is but just wondered.

Just found out that the umpire has been dismissed from TSSAA and umpiring anymore. 

Punches thrown by a Coalfield player, after the game, at an umpire.  Apparently a call during the game got both coach's riled up.  Coalfield coaches wanted to talk about it and things got heated.
Something was said and a player came out and threw a punch at the umpire.  Cops were called and the kid was arrested, from what I understand.  They can't play until TSSAA rules on the situation.

The comments about Goodpasture running the tables got me looking at their schedule, it seems they only play 4 games against Single-A competition this year.  The rest are against AA-AAA teams and DII teams.  They might not have a pretty record come tournament time but they should be battle tested, that's for sure.  If they do get beat in the State Tournament my favorite would be the team that beats them! WOW!

From what i heard of the game, Goodpasture gave the "blueprint" on how to beat Mitchell.  Slow it down and play zone against them.  The only problem for Goodpasture is they allowed way to many offensive rebounds.  If they stay even with Mitchell on the offensive rebounding Goodpasture wins the game.  That's what kept Mitchell in it all game!  

Mitchell wins it all!  I will be surprised if anyone stays within 15 points of them.
