I don't think things are "unraveling" as you seem to think. The kids are working hard and I haven't heard parents complaining. I just stated a fact about the revolving door that had been WC head football coaches really for the last 30 years. I have confidence in this staff and believe if left alone to do their jobs things will turn around. It took 30 years for the program to get in the shape its in, it's going to take time to get it right

The most important thing this coaching staff needs to do is get the juniors, sophomores and freshman to trust them. This junior class has had a different head football coach every year since they were in 7th grade. It's hard to buy into a system when history tells you that you will have to learn a new one next season. I hate it for the 10 seniors on this years team but if you're planning to stick around and build a program, you need to be working on the players that you will have coming back. I do however have the utmost respect for this group of seniors, because unlike one of their former teammates they chose to stick it out and play for the town and school they grew up in. Loyalty goes a long way in some folks book.

Got to give it to Lebanon. They came out the second half ready to play, while the Pioneers didn't. The offense has got to get going, the defense is on the field way too long
-
For the first time since beginning of fall camp, every player on the Pioneers is healthy and ready to go. Should be a good game. Hope it's an injury free game for both teams and GO PIONEERS

How'd that one turn out?
Shelbyville won 24-14, should have been 24-21, WC returned a kickoff but as soon as he crossed the 50 refs blew it dead but no one was going to catch him. Pioneers looked a little sluggish in my opinion, the defense more than the offense. I do like the play calling more than in previous years just need a little better execution. The QB is going to be a good one though, would like to see him take off and use his legs a little more. The running back #21 is a load, and #15 and #24 ran hard. O line is still a work in progress. D line and LB are decent but DB's need help.

rick, how does the 75-80 compare to last year?
I've heard more than I've actually seen this group is more disciplined than any team from Warren in probably 10 years. They are buying into coach Moore's system more every day. You've got to remember, the juniors and sophomores have had a different head coach every year since they were in 7th grade at the middle school. The best thing I've been told is this group has no superstars, but unlike some in the past they actually know and understand that. If the experts will leave him alone and let him do his thing, Tom Moore will turn the program around.

How many players does Warren have dressed out?
75-80 including freshman, 10 of those are seniors.
-
I thought the kids played extremely hard all scrimmage long. They made some mistakes, but the effort was there. There were a couple of kids not dressed out that look like they will definitely help out. Anyone know anything about those guys?

The better question is why is Warren County even playing DeKalb? It's really a no win situation for the Pioneers, if they win, "Oh wow a 6A school beats a little 3A team" but if they don't then you give the jerks in Smithville a feel good story how they beat a bigger school.

Wasn't aware he left Sequatchie County already.
Actually, I think two former Sequatchie coaches are on staff now in McMinnville, Jones and Tim Taylor
-
Is that the Curt Jones that was at Sequatchie County last season?
I believe it is. All the kids seem to really like him

New O line coach starts Tuesday. Welcome Coach Gudger

This thing has been going on forever it seems. The worst part is as of late the two biggest trouble making parents were not even from Warren County. The QB that left, his dad was from somewhere in NE Tn I believe and the last booster president ( the one that quit when she didn't get her way) is from Grundy Co. The other parent that likes to cause trouble, is a local firefighter that is a cousin to the coach that went to Sparta do she's ticked he didn't get the job.
How long has this crap been going on at Warren County? You'd think after so many losing seasons they would just be hungry to win and would do whatever it took to get it done.

yes, the transfer kid has a month to decide if he will stay or transfer back.
From a Warren County perspective, we'd gladly take the kid back if he wants to come, the dad not so much
-
How many seniors and or starters did WC lose from this past season? Anybody know the current amount of players on the squad?
They'll have enough to beat DeKalb again.
-
Contact Coach Moore at Warren County, I'm sure the players you abandoned would love to play against you.
-
If he has to use the same old coaches he best watch his back. There is one who has undermined the last two because he wants the job for himself.
-
If he don't why bother taking the job, that's a big reason Smith leftwill the new coach get to hire anyone new to the staff?
-
Lol.. Where do you think these Freshman would count?? They will still count these freshman towards Warren County HS, so it wouldn't affect your numbers at all. Old coach maybe should have tried to drop down a class when that was an option
Was told as long as freshman were in a separate facility not on the same street as the high school they could be counted separately.
-
This may end up being a great thing for Warren County, word is the creation of a separate freshman academy is being put into place in one of the old schools which will be remodeled. If true in two years Warren County numbers will be down approximately 400 students which should drop them into 5A. That means the players who will be seniors will have two yeas playing against some of the best competition in the state and should be more than ready to compete. Maybe if Warren County school administration had read the writing on the wall and created this freshman academy a few years back all this would not have taken place

I don't know about Korea, but I bet the Dibrell Mafia is having a hissy fit right nowWas this hire approved by Korea?

The coach will be named tomorrow. Some will be elated, some will be upset. Most will be shockedWill we have a coach by tomorrow? Will he last more than a year? Questions, Questions.....

whe do interviews start and who is getting interviewed?
Today they are interviewing Greg Cotton, Aaron Pitts and Chris Madewell. I'm assuming more will be taking place during the rest of the week

The Pioneers will not forfeit. Regardless of what some may think, there are some members of this team with a little pride left. Yes, the chances of them advancing past the first round are next to nothing but they will make the trip to Maryville, Johnson City or Kingsport, buckle their chinstraps and play.
