It is definitely not as easy to use as Track. I had to click on teams, then Tennessee, then each wrestler individually, and then do that for each grade. Here are the Tennessee wrestlers that made it to day 3 to medal and All-American.

A couple of things I wanted to point out if we're picking an all star lineup. People are talking about AAA winning 120 because McElhaney beat Eason. I disagree because Eason was not Father Ryan's 120 at state. The last time I checked Chalifoux was their 120, and I don't see anyone in TN beating him. 126 is a tossup to me. Hernandez vs Eason would be interesting. Mullin beat Hernandez, so you have to throw him in the mix. Herring won 2 of 3 vs Eason, but Eason won the one that mattered. I don't really know who I would go with at 126. There are a lot of studs there, and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. At HWT im taking Sammy Evans until I see a head to head with Boykin to prove differently, but once again you can't go wrong with either one. At 160 I would take Russo like Bump said. At 106 it has to be Wheaton as the top choice. Killian lost 3 times to Robbie Griggs who lost to the AAA runner up. Killian also lost to the AAA 5th place finisher. All of the past matches I reference are with the assumption what is on Track is correct. I also know the original title said AAA vs D2, but I wanted to give a couple AA wrestlers some love.

Ok. I am Beech head coach. Let's me say this... pennstatewrestlingfan... the kid in question did not quit he was put off team for conduct detrimental to team. Let's leave it at that. The kid and his family know the cituation was done fairly. Did it hurt? Sure it broke my heart as a coach. I hope he learns from this and becomes the fine person that I know he is. As for the duals that we had at state. Science Hill and Gibbs both beat Beech. They got the job done when they were supposed to. I applaud the coaches and teams for their hard work and efforts. Both teams are super tough and won over Beech. No excuses. No if, ands, or buts, about it. I expect both of those teams to keep producing high caliber teams. Let's enjoy the state tournament and not take away from it by discussing all the things we cannot control.

Thanks for clearing that up coach. That proves what I was told was false. Like i said, I like to see people get second chances (or a third or a fourth lol). It couldn't have been an easy decision for you, as it weakens your lineup. I know the rankings had you guys at number 2 at one point, so it had to hurt. Hopefully he gets his life straightened out. As Bump said earlier, it is a completely different situation that you were in. Once again, I apologize to you and your team. It came off as me putting you guys down, and was not intended that way. Good luck to your team at regionals and state. You appear to have some contenders for some individual state titles at 106, 145, and 182.

Well said Coach, one great wrestler doesn't win a state duals championship. However, PennStateWrestlingFan, a 12 pt. swing in any duals match is a huge factor. Getting a pin vs getting pinned was a big part of Beech not advancing Friday night. Losing two dual matches by a total of 2 points, I think a senior state placer instead of a freshman at that weight class is very significant.

That is my reply to Bump. If you read anything I posted, I never said it wouldn't make a differerence  in those matches. I said against the CHATTANOOGA teams. I was talking about Soddy Daisy and Bradley Central. The best two teams in AAA. The last time I checked, Gibbs and Science Hill are from another part of the state.

No, Cleveland did not make it. Only cause they had to contend with the other 2 best teams in tennessee this year in the same district, Bradley and Soddy. Like it said in another topic. The 3 best teams are in 1 region and only 2 can go each year in state. That part sucks. Outside of privates, these 3 teams are the most dominate in Tennessee and yes, Cleveland would have finished 3rd if one of these 3 teams wasn't in the region. Shoulda, coulda, woulda all you want about Cleveland. Anyone that knows wrestling would tell you, Cleveland would have finished 3rd in the state this year.

Exactly. Congrats to Tennessee for doing what they did with the forfeits. That was impressive. However, I like Cleveland's chances at finishing third in that playing field. Just because they did not compete yesterday, does not mean they are not the 3rd best team. If I was ranking the teams, I still have Bradley, Soddy, Cleveland as my top 3. It's no different than when Burroughs, Taylor, and Dake were in the same weight class. They could have the best 3 in the world, but only 1 can qualify. 

to say that a state placer and one of the top 3 or 4 guys at his weight wouldn't make a difference in a 2 point match and a tie is a bit absurd. Maybe not as much as winning state, but placing with him is a huge possibility and probably what wouldn't happened. We will never know what would've happened, but you have to think he would've made a difference. As far as whether or not he quit, or was not let back... We don't know the details so for you to subliminally take a shot at beechs coach for not "giving a 2nd chance" is also a little messed up. That's awesome that coach smith did that for Adkins, but these are 2 completely different situations, 2 completely different programs, and 2 completely different coaches with different rules. We don't know what the deal was with the beech kid and maybe it was something that was deemed bad enough to not be brought back. We don't know. But to say, " oh well Bradley had the same situation but coach smith let him come back so how nice of him" sounds like you're taking a shot at beech for possibly not allowing said wrestler to come back. Which is wrong. especially when you don't know the situation or any details

I apologize if it came off as me taking a shot at Beech. The post didn't really come off exactly as it sounded in my head. I don't know what goes on in their program. They have some a good team, and some tough wrestlers. I was just stating what I heard from other people about the situation (which very well could be false information). For all I know the story could of changed 5 times by the time I heard what happened. You know how that goes with the story changing every time someone else tells it. I just like seeing people get another chance (unless it was a murder or something lol). These kids are young and still learning. I get frustrated when I know it's something that a kid will probably regret their whole life. Once again though I am sorry. It was supposed to be praise for coach Smith, but did sound negative towards Beech after re-reading my post.

I didn't notice anyone missing from the beech lineup.. Atleast not since Christmas. There was one big name that hasn't been around, I think was injured maybe? But the line up they had has been the same since then. Not sure what 2 kids you speak of.

I still don't think the state placer they were missing would have been enough for them to beat either Chattanooga team. It was awesome to see 2 of their teams in the finals again with Soddy keeping Wilson Central out this year. I think Cleveland probably would of took third as well. As for Beech's state placer, I was wondering what happened to him too. It may not be true but I heard he quit for a little while and then wasn't allowed back on the team when he tried to come back. The funny thing is Bradley was is the same situation and let Adkins back after not being there all year. Kudos to coach Smith for giving Adkins a second chance. Looks like it didn't hurt them to bad. These kids make mistakes all the time and should always be given another chance in my opinion. Congrats to Bradley and Soddy. I can't wait to see if Bradley, Soddy, and Cleveland can finish top 3 in 2 weeks.

Bradley lost to Archer 39-24 over Thanksgiving. Obviously it doesn't mean Ryan would beat Archer, but Ryan did beat Bradley worse. It might be an interesting matchup.

I agree with rgiii. The way I understand the article, it wouldn't really change that much with fight nights, clubs, open mats etc. We would still be able to run them the same way. However, if someone that it zoned for another school attends one of these events and tries to transfer to that school, they would be ineligible. It sounds like they're trying to put more obstacles in the way of schools trying to stack a team. If it is as durdon says then I think we would all be opposed to that. All that would do is hold TN back even more compared to other states.

I personally am for it as long as we are going to keep the divisions split. Since I can't see us going back to one division, I like these changes. This proposal seems like a better way to split the schools, so the schools that can't pay for the tuition of students or accept out of county kids would not be at a disadvantage. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, I feel that this "financial aid" is often used in the wrong way. I would prefer one division where no out of county/state and no financial aid is allowed creating a level playing field for all. Obviously this will never happen though.

If anyone knows, who are the teams that this would affect? It would be interesting to know as this could create a lot interesting matchups we might of previously never seen in February.

If this change is made, what schools would be affected?

The biggest reason I hear for kids not doing freestyle and greco is that the kids simply don't like it. I believe that the reason they don't like it is because they don't know the rules as Bosken said, they are lazy, and afraid to lose. What I mean by that is they don't want to develop the extra skills you need to learn for freestyle and greco. They just want to keep doing what they are comfortable with, instead of having to try a new move. They would rather not take the chance of losing because they had to attempt something they wouldn't do in folkstyle. It drives me crazy because that's how you get better. You have to go out of your comfort zone.

On another note, it seems like the USA season in TN always ends at the beginning of May with the Southeast Regionals at the end of May. We could probably push the USA tournaments back a couple weeks to help avoid some of these national events.

I'm they would do a wrestle off if a better kid wants the spot. Those kids' parents need to ask if they are interested.

I did a lot of studying on track last week to make my predictions. Whiteside beat Dooley THIS year, so I don't think he was running. I do know from what I heard he had to cut 7-8 pounds to make it. I don't see him or Dooley making 106 next year. Also, I believe I remember Dezember and Palmer being the same bracket once this season with Dezember losing to the Kentucky state champ in the semis, and Palmer beating the Kentucky state champ in the finals. 106 with Pergande, Palmer, Dezember, and quite a few other already in high school (the smaller Hicks for example) should be exciting next year. I thought Bowers was going into high school too, but I am not an expert on kids' grades. I know it's his 2nd year in MS. If he is, I would have him in the top 10. The kid dominated his bracket this weekend.

That looks like a tough team. Reiniche should be on the MS team I'm assuming.

The scores that were posted look like the overall team scores from Tot - Middle School. I left before the middle school team scores were announced, but I know Higher Calling was winning. I assume they won the middle school division. Does anyone the middle school scores?

Pennstatewrestlingfan.... No idea who you are but pretty impressive on picks.... Very knowledgable on MS....and Mason will be on my dual team but not wrestling in Indv tournament.

That's good to know about Mason. It's probably a waste of his time other than making the Iowa team anyway. It's not everyday an 8th grader can make the state finals in high school. You are doing great things for Cleveland.

Bates doesn't live in TN anymore. Mason isn't wrestling in state tourney last I heard.

Bates is registered under a team TN club and plans to wrestle in TNAAU state tournament.

It looks like me and Shaner have been hearing the exact same thing. If that is true about Mason then that kind of leaves 125 open. That's why it would be nice to have regionals to go off of for predictions. I'm sure there's some kids that have been wrestling out of state, or with their middle school team as well that I left off. Everything right now is pure speculation. 

Predictions can always be done by guessing where kids might be. I'm sure even you Durdan could come up with some pretty accurate predictions.

Good point. I'll give it my best shot, but am not confident in where the kids will be. I might update them whenever brackets are released.
