if the imac is down i look for cocke county to come in second behind g-ville. i watched cocke co play sullivan central and they looked good. got a lil outa control at times but thats part of bein young. its the best team ive seen them have in years. they will impress some people this year. imagine how good they would be if they went to ANY summer camps this year /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
If you was at this game, you seen the three worst referees in the world. I'm not making excuses for the loss, because they were equally bad for both teams. On FIVE different occasions they called a foul and when they went to the scorer's table put the foul on the wrong player. One time in particular they called a foul on a kid that was on the BENCH. No excuse for that. REFS, pay attention to the ball game and who commits the foul. I also saw one ref tell both sets of cheerleaders not to flip past half court. Get real buddy, this is why the cheerleaders are there. It's a competition to see which one can flip the farthest. Stick to your day job, because you will never make a living as a referee. Cocke Cty. is a good team, I'm not taking anything away from them. They hustle and battle 'til the end. I just wanted to vent my frustration about the refs. They were really horrible.

Bolivar Central is that ____ good!!!!! I'm still VERY PROUD to be a supporter of Sullivan Central Athletics. They worked thier tails off to get to the STATE. They beat some good teams along the way to do it. IF anyone thinks the teams that were at home from East TN. could have done any better, you're dead wrong. Maybe you guys should have worked a little harder to get there. Chism and Kemp are exceptional athletes, and you WILL be seeing them on TV one day soon. So let me close by saying "Central Cougar BasketballPlayers, WE as a community are PROUD of you guys."

There you go counting your chickens before they are hatched. You guys have at least two ball games before the finals. CAN you win one or both of them? That is the question. I'm sure your team is good or they wouldn't be there, but that goes for all the teams in the "Boro this week. Good Luck Central Cougars, we are PROUD of you guys. thumb

Yes was last years Tourney better than this one, in my opinion it was because the semi games where down to the wire especially Huntsville bears Vs catons, 1 in OT after the bears went into half time with a 20 point lead but catons came out fired up and change the momentum. Congrats to holston for winning there 2nd championship in a role but if the bears would have been in the Championship it would be only 1.
Just exactly where were these bears? In hibernation??????
Holston would have beat them like they did the other three teams. Maybe next year for the Bears, that's what Chicago always says.

I think both kids would be a great asset to any team in UET. They are both good players and seem like good kids.
I'm not sure about all the all tourney team, but here is what I know.

Congratulations to the Blountville Lady Tigers on thier Sectional Title. That's 2 Titles being brought back to the Kingsport Area, the Holston Eagles Boys also won the Small school Sectionals today over Mary Hughes. That gives them Back 2 Back Titles. Great Job by both schools.

The Holston Eagles Won tonight beating Mary Hughes for the 5th. time this year. It was a great game, going back and forth, but the great play from #10 on Holston Tourney MVP lifted the Eagles to Back 2 Back Sectional Titles. The final was 44-37. Mary Hughes played well, but not well enough to fend off the Champs. thumb

I believe he was #24, but #40 also played well. They both should probably be on it, 10 is such a small number when it comes to picking kids from so many schools. As for the girls side, I haven't seen but one girls game, not enough info. on that side. I am excited about seeing the SHIP today though. I want to see just how good the OS girls are. I have seen Wartburg play and they looked pretty solid. Good Luck to all 4 teams today.

10 kids on All-Tourney team:
# 3 from Fairview.
# 34 and # 30 from Mary Hughes.
Both post players from Oliver Springs, not sure the numbers.
# 34 from Rockwood and 1 other player but can't rem. his number either, good shooter.
# 10, # 20, and # 50 from Holston.
This is the teams that I saw play, there's probably some on the other squads also, but I didn't get to see them play. This is also just my opinion and not to be hurtful to any player, coach, or parent.

Holston Middle School is located in the Blountville area near the Tri-Cities Regional Airport. They are between Kingsport and Bristol. Mary Hughes is located in the Piney Flats area between Bristol and Johnson City.

This should be an exciting game. Holston has beaten Mary Hughes all 4 times this year, so far. Three by more than 10 pts. but the last by only 2 in OT in the Regional Finals. MH has a scrappy bunch that can shoot and play "D". Holston will have to play thier best to beat them again. It's going to be tough to beat any team 5 times in one year. This says alot about the talent in Upper East Tn having both teams in the Finals. Good Luck to both.

Holston defeated a very good Fairview team tonight. Mary Hughes beat Rockwood also. Holston will take on Mary Hughes at 4:00 pm on Sat. for the Title. No news on the girls side.

My prediction is that MH will win tonight,but it will be a very close game. They are a very scrappy team. They also have some great shooters. The other game will go to Holston, my opinion only, they have a good defense and strong inside game. They can shoot the rock well also. I've been told that Holston has the same record this year as they had last year at this same time. The losses have all been to Large school teams. This could be the Back 2 Back title team. Good Luck to all the teams.
