  1. Last time TN High beat the Toppers was in 2010 on a last minute touchdown. Science Hill threw a long bomb which went out of bounds as time expired. Will the same happen again?

To all you toppers, we beat you at your new field. Juuuuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssssssssss throwing that out there. 2nd most memorable game of my career.

    SH: 45

    TN: 42

  2. It's one of my favorite games. The history of the 2 schools. The passion of the 2 schools. One city. Two states. When one tragedy happens at one HS, the other HS is there for them. They support each other off the field when it's needed.

We're off the field. I never lost to VA High. I witnessed one loss to them in 2011. Shouldn't have happened. Bad coaching on TN High part.

Going to be a good game.

    TN High 39

    VA High 23

  3. Welcome aboard Jonesy! THS can use a few good men to stand up for the maroon and white. My youngest son graduated in 09' and played the 08' season so I remember both seasons you referenced well. I endearingly refer to the 09' season as the Boone Buster season.

If you don't mind my asking who is your youngest son? All I can think of if Pickard. He, according to my knowledge, was the only was with an older brother, aside from Crump.

    Hmmmmmmm..?

  4. Now correct me if I am wrong but isn't it a TSSAA rule that in order to be a Head Coach of any sporting team at any level (Middle School, High School) the HC MUST be within the school system in some way.

Am I right or am I wrong? A HS Wrestling coach took an HC job and is not in the school system. Kinda fishy.

  5. Are you going to see the Byrnes Rebels (catchy name) in Duncan, SC or Burns Bulldogs in Lawndale, NC?  Maryville got a pretty fair offensive lineman from Burns, NC a few years ago.

My former HS coach when I lived in NC before coming to TN left my old school to coach at Burns. Matt Beam was/is one heckuva coach. Should have a NC State Title in his hands soon

  6. Yeah we have a few too i'm sure. No doubt about that. Them guys were off the wall though. It was definitely entertaining. Hey, you know DB has the most basketball wins in US history, right? We probably have the most tradition in baseball, too did you know that? Our band is the greatest band to ever grace a trumpet and trombone lol By the way we have the most tennis titles in world history (kidding on that one)

If we're throwing out statistics. 1972. National Champions. Tennessee High School. Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuussssss sayin sweetheart    B)

  7. Fans are the momentuim every team needs when they need it the most ! No matter win or loose we the fans at DB dont give up (we might call for some coaches head) :) , but again we still pack the house !!! With a bigger and newer staduim this year we will bring in alot more fans !!! Simply what im saying is i wish all the teams out there had as much fans as we do each and every game .. it makes it fun , and simply gives the players an expeirence!!! FANS TO EVERY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE STATE COME THIS YEAR AND SUPPORT THE PLAYERS OF EACH AND EVERY TEAM AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS AND AN INJURY FREE YEAR... 3 MONTHS AND COUNTING

I agree 100%. I personally loved playing at DB. The atmosphere amazes me. I can't stand DB but the atmosphere amazes me! When fans go to games, it truly does give players a great experience. The ONLY game my SR year where our fans (TN High) didn't attend was when we went to Knox for the playoffs.

  8. I went to the Bearden-DB game in 2010 when Devrin Young scored a game winning TD in OT. Bearden fans had packed the house. In NorthEast TN (Region 1) DB has the strongest and most loyal fan base. Home. Away. Playing the #1 team in state or they are playin Sullivan Central...DB fans are always there
