  1. It is never easy to execute a complete U-Turn, and no individual can do it on his/her own. In 5A & 6A it takes a complete "program" to compete. It is also hard for a struggling program to find "easy" wins in Sumner County.
1 D-1 RB cant do it all! He needs 40 other players...

1 decent Head Coach can't do it all! He needs 5-6 other solid coaches...

All personal opinions aside: I think LHS has the size to find 50-60 Athletes. I think LHS has pristine facilities to attract & facilitate kids throughout their four years in High School. I think the community of Lebanon has the ability to support (emotionally & financially) a program. I believe the potential is there... somewhere

  2. In a sense; recruiting has become part of High School football. Let's face it, in a world where Private schools openly pirate middle schools Public School Coaches must establish a recruiting-foot just to maintain their "zoned" athletes. The phrase "coach your own kids" does not apply anymore, because "your own kids" are open to everybody else, and if you want to coach them... you must defend/recruit them!
Not to mention that transfers like Vic Wharton, Gaulden, and Hurd have made teams suddenly competitive. If coaching is your job, why wouldn't you want to become suddenly competitive?

  3. Hillsboro 5/6 -- Station Camp 2

***In a hybrid scrimmage that used some odd mix of 10-play & Down-and-distance where scoring was hard to keep track of at times.***

Hillsboro once again looked aggressive on offense, scoring fluidly on the ground & screen game (#20 looked impressive). HHS missed on a handful of deep balls where the receiver had a step that would have made the score more obnoxious. Hillsboro did protect the ball, eliminate penalties, and protect the QB with ease.

HHS' Defense stifled the running game of station camp, and forced 3 turnovers (one of which was returned for a TD). Their secondary looked suspect allowing a couple of deep balls for Station Camp TDs.

  4. I'll tell you how Brentwood vs Hillsboro went.

    Hillsboro 5 -- Brentwood 0

Brentwood did play disciplined and took care of the football. Hillsboro had its fair share of penalties and a few turnovers, but other than that the entire scrimmage was ALL Hillsboro. The Burros shut down BHS' offense by forcing countless "3-and-outs", and straight-up beat Brentwood on the other side of the ball. Hillsboro scored on screens, inside running plays, deep playaction, and outside running plays.
