1. Got to agree with roadrunner there kiddo!! Don't whine!!

One I don't know about, but the other, well... Boyfriends come and go.

Coaches usually have a good reason when they don't like your guy pal.

It's very much the same as a parental attitude, and the coach deserves that same near respect. Coach puts a lot into you and your team mates that until your the one wearing the whistle, you will not even begin to realize.

but I don't know you and it's not my place to judge. So, check out that web site,

I hope you find a program that fits your bill and play the greatest game on

HARD WOOD!!!!! Have heart and good luck. thumb

  2. It happens in softball too.  I have hosted tournaments before and if youtry to help people out and let them pay when they get there they most back out because who shows up.  Most teams hear that a GOOD team is coming they go some where esle if they can get in then.  And if a tournament is a fundraiser most tournament director let them in.  So this happens a lot

I hope to see some tough teams this weekend thumb

It,s also softball season sidetrain, and the girls are having to decide where their heart is this weekend. I was hoping the rain would decide for them, but I heard the Clarksville softball coach persuaded her team to show up hopping to play softball this morning instead of basketball. So the basketball team shows up with only five girls...OUCH!!! Out of thirteen....Those five that didn't back out have heart!!

  3. Clarksville Wildcats lost their second straight this morning, but they didn,t seem to have near as many girls today as last night.

They only had five players, no one to sub in. So, In seeing that I say the five

that showed up did a great job. The coach seemed to have it well planned out

with a 2:3 most of the morning and running an occasional man/man.

Lincon Co. came out on top at 60 to 40?? I think.. but not without a good fight! B)

  4. Loosing Lawson has hurt Cheatham for sure, but they still hold the best talent

    overall.

Don't know anything about Chester Co.

I do know last nights game was off for Cheatham Central. Something was wrong with those girls. They wern't able to get shots to fall. Casey missing lay-ups. The only 2 pts. scored by Colman was in the last two min. of the game. Baines shot was off. Fast breaks and plays were set good, but there was a lid on their basket.

Get it togeather lady cubs and play your game like I know you can!!! thumb

  5. Harpeth gym is almost too small for cross county games. Bleachers are all but on the playing floor. you guys are right, that'll do has always been a problem. That gym should've been half agian as large.

But, I see the Harpeth girls comming away winners tomorow regardless of where they play, they really had it togeather last night! GOOD GAME HARPETH!!!

I still think the sectional game should have been played at a Cheatham gym.

Reguardless of how you Harpeth folks feel, you are still Cheatham Co. residence, and not near as unique as some would want to think.

DON'T HATE !! JUST PLAY BALL!

p.s. rember to chear for your team harpeth fans ,and not aginst the other guys.

  6. that is correct they dont.  The radio announcer announced that at the end of the game tonight.  Cheatham only has enough by 25 seats.

    825598321

Cheathams gym should be avaliable to host the sectional for either team.

If Harpeth wins this game tonight, and are unable to host at their gym, the game should be played at Cheatham Centrals gym.

It would only make sense, let Harpeth keep the door and whoever keep consessions... band or jr. pro.

One year when Cheatham girls hosted sectionals, extra seating was brought in from the baseball field because the crowd was expected to be so large..

It was a large crowd and the extra bleachers wernt able to hold the weight and

fell in the last quarter of the game.... A truley awesome night!

I predict Cheatham to scratch by tonight by 6 pts.

This county needs to put an end to differences and put an all county all star AAU

team togeather... The county could have a national title sitting in their hand with the team that could be compiled within the county!!

Talk about chamber of commerce ad pitch...Think about that Gary and make something happen.

  7. now, were at another strategy level....

I think #2 in this distric tourney gets to play Page first off in regionals?

Has either Harpeth or Cheatham played Page at any time this season?

    Camp or invitational tournaments?

And who have they (Cheatham and Harpeth) played that they may see from here on out to state???

And what were the game scores?

  8. This game should be on ESPN or something!...Pay per view, even!!

If both teams come out with the strength and determination we all know they have, then get ready to see the hard wood battle of the decade!

I predict both teams to come out of the locker room with their game face on fire.

Harpeth will take a quick leadin the first 2 min. Then Cheatham will soon reply with Batts dropping a couple of 3'sss from no where zone to catch up before the half. From then on it will be anyones win.

Sorry, But now I need a couple of tumms or something just for thinking about it.. :o;)

  9. I love it!  I was at the game last night - Waverly stuck with their game plan and gave CHEATham a run for it until Price fouled out.  I think we need to always refer to CHEATham County as CHEATham County because they will always so whatever they need to do to win.  Banes was not a factor except on her free throws...sorta like when she was at Waverly.

    825578723

Looks like Cheatham Central has a good plan to build everyones confidence.

Better watch out, or get relaxed and plan on walking all over Cheatham....

    Hmmm...That's what i'd do

    GO LADY CUBS!!

  10. I'm not sure about that, but I know that when they came to PF, their post player didn't even play.  Wolfenbarger was out due to sickness or an injury and didn't even dress out, but the other girl (who I think is one of their best) didn't even get on the court.  One of our girls ask her why she didn't play and she said "I don't know, ask my coach."  Maybe there are some disciplinary problems.  If so, you've got to respect the coach.  How many seniors do they have?

    825574481

    Right on, Lady Tigers Mom.

If a coach decides to bench a player for diciplinary issues, others should stay out of it. Parents have a right to know to know whats going on, but in most

cases should stay out of it.

  11. The team should have been declared inelgible by TSSAA for post season.  What stops a coach from having an inelgible player the next year if they still get to play in the post season.

    825574153

So punish every player, every fan, every parent for the screw up of who we can't agree on.

That may be an effective way to get the team strengthened off the court, but

the one being punished is the one being punished.

real life, I don't go to jail or loose my license because my friend drove fast and wreckless. He was in control of the car , not me.

  12. Sory if i seemed to come across a little strong.  As a basketball coach in Tn. i do know the responsibility of a school in dealing with transfer players.  The principal trusts the coaches to have made every available effort to insure the player is elgible.  The coach MUST contact the previous school for the players athletic record, have a physical address that verifies the move as legit, and notify TSSAA of this change and RECIEVE AN OFFICIAL OKAY FROM TSSAA IN WRITING.  If the coach wants to verify a voting registration, that depends on how thorough the coach wants to insure that something like what happened recently, does not occur in his or her program.  The coach is the head of the program, he is responsible for the good or the bad that happens.

    825574138

I'm beginning to understand a bit better now, thanks.

I just didn't think the coach could do all that without being in violation of recruitment. I know if it got out a coach was going that deep into parents personal buisness he would definately be accused. Thanks agian!

  13. I hear what you guys are saying, but why punish Sycamore?  They did nothing wrong.  Creekwood would have drawn Cheatham if the ruling had went the other way.  I can see being upset for Cheatham being in the tournament at all, but if they are in it with TSSAA's permission, why punish another team just because it suits your teams needs?  I had a problem with a coin flip before any of this went down.  After head to head through the district, the next logical tiebreaker would be total differentials in games involving the two teams tied.  Harpeth won their home game by more than Cheatham.  They are the logical choice for first place in that scenario.  Do we know a coin wasn't flipped?

    825574106

It's not about points scored in an individual game. Coin flipis logical in this type of tie.

  14. Waverly probably was hurt most, but I guarantee you Sycamore is very happy with the decision to make Cheatham the No.2.

But, back to Waverly, I don't think it would have mattered who they played, I didn't see them getting out of the first round anyways.

    825573986

Good coment Mr. Clutch. If I was Waverly or Sycamore, I wouldnt want to play Cheatham Co. first in the tourney either unless I had to...Didn't know Sycamores key player was hurt...This could make a big difference in their game, because they were looking decent.

Folks who don't know, should understand why Cheathams placement is so cruicial.

Cheatham will most likely maul anyone in distric 10-AA except Harpeth, and vice vs. They are decently matched aginst each other.

Folks should also understand, the girl for Cheatham that has been made ineligible to play is very replaceable on the court. Someone made the comment of her being the star player. Not the case at all...good player ?..yes ...star?..no.

Cheatham lost two post last year after state tourney.. One of those two had equal time on the bench as on the floor.

  15. The coach is responsible!!!  At the beginning of the season the COACH and school PRINCIPAL must sign an ELGIBILITY report for each player and turn it in to TSSAA.  It is their responibility to make SURE every player on their team is elgible to play, PERIOD!!!

    825573840

Eazy there Courtside... "Eligibility report" on the player... Not a background check to see if the parents have been to the election office and changed their voting precent or the mailing address on their cell phone bill.

Anministrations job.... yes it is...but which administrative office??...principal or board of ed??...I don't know.

I still see most of the responsibility falling on the parents...And they apologized in front of mid. Tennessee on the news.

  16. He did just that in the Tennessean article.  You have to give him credit for that.  He didn't blame another school for the snafu.

I think this whole situation should be a lesson for anyone else thinking of transferring in the future.  Learn the rules....learn the rules....learn the rules...and follow them.  If you do....there will be no problems.

    825572216

The coach can't be held responsible. There is a good reason for this.

If the coach gives advice on transfering to his program, that coach would be in

recruiting violation. I think i'm correct on that assumption?

As far as what school your zoned for, that would be board office administration

work. Those folks have truency problems to worry with. So, this situation is of low priority.
