I don't think this one will be close, I watched blackman this past Friday and their Oline is mauling people . I think MJ is getting all the pub again provided by their non challenging schedule. MJ will be packing it up after Friday. Great Season

    BHS 42

    MJ- 17

Sounds about right.  Although not sure MJ will score 17.  Im thinking 31-10 range

Could be the biggest game of the 2nd round. Should be a barn burner. Can Mt. Juliet get the monkey off of their back?

    Who wins and why?

i got Blackman in a close, high scoring game. 45-42

No way MJ will score 42 against the Blackman D.  I also dont think MT Juliet D will give up anywhere close to 45.

    Blackman 28-31 MJ 10

What did you see tonight that makes you remotely think this?

Its not what I saw tonight.  Its what I saw last week and its how familiar I am with Blackman.  Mt Juliet will have a tough time scoring much on the Blackman D.  Blackman has too many big play playmakers to be held in check all night.  Lebanon saw that first hand tonight.   Blackman wins this by at least 21 in my opinion.  Blackman and Oakland are just on a different level than any team in Sumner or Wilson County.

Mark William's, you have turned a once proud Gallatin football program into a literal joke. Please step aside and let another person build the program back. How many more losing seasons do we need to see? The proof is there,  no sugar coating this.

My first call would be to Coach Bundy

Both teams are coming off of losses to end the regular season.. who you got in this one and why??

I expect it to be a hard fought game in the trenches.  Looks like Riverdale somewhat struggles to move ball against a good defense.  Riverdale also appears to have a very good run defense.  HHS has struggled with the passing game all year on offense.  I think this game comes down to which Oline plays the best and of course turnovers.  I think HHS wins a low scoring very physical battle.

Would be curious to get Blaze45 take on this one.

I think MJ could get to the 3rd round but I think Oakland really wants that rematch with Maryville.  This MJ team is better than last years team and that other region is not near as strong as it has been.

Blackman will Beat MJ by 2-3 Tds in round 2

As far as what my worries and concerns are for MJ in this game it ALL has to do with the AT TIMES inept offense we have. They have struggled here and there (lost our starting QB for the season our last preseason scrimmage), the biggest issues I see is an inexperienced  but athletic QB, an Oline that has been pushed around too much at times, and some bad play calling . on the contrary they can strike quick thanks to the plethora of options we have at running back and receiver. Our defense is stronger than ever, against station camp we only let up a kickoff for a TD, against Gallatin we let up a FG, shutout Overton, let up 10 to Lebanon, with most games our 2's being put into play against the opponents starters. With the defense definitely being our strong suit, I see our offense being able to string together enough big plays and our defense doing what it does best, to another nice victory against a strong athletically gifted HHS team.

Can anyone inform me on the HHS defense in detail?

Defense has been very good this year. They do have a tendency to give up big scoring plays....which doesn’t bode well since MJ scores often on big plays

Shows what you know about the two teams..... they both played last night so yeah it would make sense they play tonight lol youre a perfect unbiased knowledgeable judge to determine MJ wont win..... and to touch on your point about MJ not beating a good team... Lebanon? Also going back to last years game, we handily beat HHS, a hard fought game on both ends but still a good win for MJ there. I see a closer game on the scoreline for this years game, and also probably higher scoring.

Just hoping for no miserable cold rain this year lol.

Looking forward to a great game with the Region championship on the line.  I would say MJ is the favorite in this one...especially with it being in Mt Juliet.  HHS will have to play their best game of the year to have a shot to win.  I do think the kids are up for the challenge and will come ready to play.

The turnover battle should determine the outcome in this one.

  9. This game has huge playoff seeding implications for Hendersonville.  If they win they are guaranteed no worse than a 2 seed and a home game.  Lose and they probably slip to the 4 seed and go on road to Oakland week 1.

I dont really know much about Rossview.  Better record than I thought at 6-2 (really 5-3 but got a forfeit win).  Close games against SC and Wilson Central.  HHS took care of business pretty handily against those two.

I think the Commandos show up ready and come home victorious.

I would hope so because I witnessed Lebanon beat Station Camp 42-0 last week and felt like that Station Camp team looked like a team that didn't have the players to beat anybody. And I might be wrong but I think they were scoreless against Hendersonville until they put in the backups.

They scored on a pick 6 early and a late offensive TD against the backups

Mount Juliet will easily go 10-0.  But how can they expect to compete with the elite teams in the playoffs when they play such a weak schedule?  Look at who Oakland, Blackman, Maryville, and Whitehaven play. Slow start against Riverdale was because they had not played a team of that caliber. RB for Riverdale had over 250 yards. Will not be any different this year.

"Easily" go 10-0..not so sure about that.

I don't think so either. I just don't get calling a team that is likely to have back to back undefeated regular seasons "overrated".  They aren't the best team in the state and I am not claiming they are but let's give credit where it is due. They are a really good football team.

I agree for sure.  Very good football team and would have a great record  even if they had if scheduled tougher non region games. Def the cream of the crop in their region.  HHS will have to play their best and catch a couple breaks if they hope to have a chance to beat Mt Juliet.

You can believe that all you want..   Truth is, Mt. Juliet is not going to lose to Hendersonville at home.

You may be right....but another truth.....Mt Juliet can go 11-0 but they still arent getting past 2nd round of playoffs.  Just a tough early draw either way you go for HHS and Mt Juliet
