Your earlier post stated that Middleton would beat LC by 26 and now they are a joke?

I didn't get to the game but just got a text...Lake County won 87-81...double overtime!

Wow..Is the name Jackson Co suppose to scare the West Tenn teams?And because they have played teams from Penn and Kentucky?Last year and years passed mean nothing to me or this years team..Bradford and Gleason has a lot of gold trophies in their trophy case and I believe they're from West Tenn....I've heard of Forrest..I believe beat Moore Co by 2 points..You're right..We dont play those teams and did play Moore Co in a camp and won by about 12..But I believe we're a better team by far now and I'm sure they are as well..Plus the camps dont mean anything ..not the same environment as a game..As far as those out of stste teams from Penns..That doens't mean anything..Just that they were on a sight seeing trip and came a long way to get beat..If you'll look at the Lake Co boys schedule,You'll see Lake Co played a team from Canada..Same as the teams you're talking about..would think they must be good to come this far..but look at the score..As for Clarkrange..Looks like they lost to Forrest by a rather large margin..Maybe they can't run with Forrest..Guess what..Lake Co loves to run..Lake Co only has a couple 1 point losses to Greenfield,who I'd put against Clarkrange or Forrest and to a team in Kentucky in a shootout..They lost by 1 point to Hart Co ,losing a 6 point lead with just under 2 minutes to play..I believe Hart Co has also beaten Marshall Co.,Ky..usually a pretty good team in Kentucky is past years..So..like you said..We'll see in the tournaments..even if Lake Co isnt there..Gleason and Greenfield or whoever will represent the West Tenn area well ..Lake Co went to the State last year and most of those girls were freshmen..The best three players are 2 sophomores and 1 freshman..Whoever beats them..better do it this year !

 

And the teams here like Greenfield,Gleason.Lake Co are very small schools..We do it with girls that live in our towns..Grew up in our towns..Not transferred from other shools..If a player moves..I have no problem with that..just some of the girls leave as freshmen and play for a loaded team..If Lake Co is good enough to win the Gold ball,and they may not..the name across the front will really mean something to the players,school and community..!

oh do you now, tell me about transfers and 14a has as many as anybody so don't play that game ALL JC girls live in JC and now tell me all of bradfords gleason and lake co girls were born there. WE HAVE ONE TRANSFER HOW MANY DO YOU HAVE I've been told by some of west tn. fans that the boys never knew who'd be playing for who for years and in past few years girls are just as bad

I can't speak for Gleason or Bradford...but I do know that all of Lake County's girls except one have been here since they were in kindergarten...WE HAVE ONE TRANSFER....does that answer your question?

OK...... ...There was an alleged incident after this mornings HB/Manassas game. According to the jacksonsun.com a girl from HB shoved a Manassas player as the team was exiting the arena. A manassas player retaliated by throwing a punch which struck a young lady from HB. The Murfreesboro polce were call and filed a report but did not make an arrest because the puncher could not be identified.......HUH???

 

First off there must have been at least 30-40 people in that immedeate area when the incident occured.I know at least 100 or so rushed to the scene. The 25 or so HB people I talked to gave me names and numbers of the accused. So who did the police interview here.....the concession stand worker? Did this really happen, did the police get it wrong, or is something else going on here?

 

I think the TSSAA as the governing body of high school basketball should investigate and administer punishment accordingly. If this did happen we have a athletic male punching a young lady...this isn't accepted in any other organized sports league or culture for that matter.

 

Chatanooga grace fans what do you think.......will this player lose his temper friday and slug someone from your town? I know I'm not the only one who cares about this....I'm hoping we can find out whats really going on here.

I have one question...what gave the girl the right to push the Manassas player? I have a teenage son and I certainly would not condone him hitting a girl but it sounds like to me that this situation was getting out of hand and it could have been a reflex action when he hit her. Bottom line she shouldn't have put her hands on him. I just had to say this before this thread gets shut down. I do not have a dog in this fight and I was not there but I don't think Grace's fans need to worry about getting slugged Friday.

Regarding the post TT was the best player on the floor yesterday, Candice Parker was outscored at UT by opposing players many times, yet if an opposing fan stated their player was the best player on the floor they would have been laughed at.

Lets' compare scheduling of out of district opponents of Lake County and Oliver Springs

 

 

Both teams lost 8 or so games.

 

 

Lake County lost to teams that were not considered an elite Class A team in their games - with almost all their losses coming in district play. LC beat up on weaker Class A and out of district opponents in the area that were average to below average teams.

 

 

Oliver Springs lost to these teams twice:

 

Knox Webb ( ranked in USA today top 25 last year and top Private school in state this year). Knox Webb has a UT signee in Faith Dupree and CUSA PG signee. They also had Glory Johnson last year who is at UT this year.

 

Jackson County ranked #2 in Class A most of the year.

 

Clarkrange ranked #1 in Class A all of the year. Possibly the best team in the state in all classifications.

 

 

Clinton 22-9 Class AAA team that made the Regional AAA semifinals losing to Powell who is playing in Class AAA tourney.

 

 

York Institute- traditional class AA team from the plateau.

 

 

 

When you compare the two schools and you take into account who each schedules out of district, it's no contest. OS's program does this intentionally. Lake County feasts of below average competition this year.

 

My comment was spot on. Lake County is good, but would not have made it out of the regions in other regions.

Can you believe the post that actually started this tirade simply said they thought that YESTERDAY TT was the best player on the floor in that particular game. LC is a good basketball team or they would not have been playing yesterday. How many times have you seen LC play this year? I only see the 1, 2, 6, 7 and 9 team left out of the top 10 in the State. Can someone tell me where is LC? Were they even suppose to be rank from the start?

First of all quit using the bold blue type...it's really annoying and second you can't judge a whole district by one game and one team. Our district is far from pathetic. But if you knew anything at all about basketball you would already know that. Your team won...congrats leave at that and don't run your mouth about something you obviously know nothing about.

And reading the posts about what has gone on in about every single game of the year.......I will amend this so you don't cry........I AM VERY WELL AWARE WINNING 800 IS NOT AN EASY TASK.....kudos to him on that. I don't really think you could say or do anything that would make me cry...but back to the game. I don't what his coaching strategies were for this game or any game. I sometimes question things he does but with all this man is going through right now and to still be coaching...he has my respect.

Well I'll say it...I think Whitby has gone off his rocker...after reading through this all season long and seeing them play the other night and witnessing one of the most blatant examples of misuse of a player in Avery...I have just come to that conclusion. Maybe I'm wrong. Don't care if he has won 800 games...what I saw had me scratching me head.....best of luck the rest of the season.

You came to this conclusion after watching one game? I don't agree with everything Coach Whitby does but I will show him respect. This was one of the most disrespectful post I have ever read from someone who knows nothing about Lake County basketball. Winning 800+ games is not an easy task for any coach. So stick to Dyer County basketball and be vocal about that.

I just talked to one of Lake County's players and he said it would be played next Saturday.

The school being relatively brand new doesn't hurt either....it is just flat out NICE.
