Andrew Manning aka 7-11..for Ooltewah had a monster game tonight 2 TD-s 150 yds recv,2 INTs-50 return yds,7-8 tackles
Correct. Really enjoy watching this young man play. Kind of a throwback playing well both ways.
Great night, Great game and finally felt like football weather last night. Owls could be getting things together at the right time.
-
From what I have seen the past few years, Cleveland always has speed and can score from anywhere on the field. Question is Can they handle the Owls D line and create running space? I think it will be a little lower scoring game than some think.
-
Owls will dominate cleveland this week.......
Owls are playing better but it would seem that Cleveland has now had some time to adjust to new personnel and get an offensive package together that could work. Gonna be a good one I think.
-
I'm anxious to see this running game i've heard so much about from McMinn. Sounds like some old school football. Owls in a must win situation.
-
GO OWLS!
#ROAD TRIP
WAIT? ZEBRAS? MCMINN LIKE?
I have heard for several years about the officials at McMinn. What is it that makes them so difficult? Is it a local association or what?
-
No surprises last night. Canes just not up to the task yet. Owls looked good. This game with Rhea will tell the real story about our Owls this season. Good luck guys.
-
IM GOOD JUST TALKING TRUE TRASH. YOU ARE PROBABLY DISTRICT CHAMPS AFTER THAT WIN AND ID RATHER TAKE THE L NOW THAN LATER FROM THE GUTS AND THEY WILL BE COMING FOR YOU IM THE PLAYOFFS WITH A VENGEANCE LIKE RHEA DID MY OWLS. YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE BLUERAIDERZ OR RHEA YOU WILL MEET THE GUTS TO WIN THE REGION IF ERRBODY STAY PUT
#LOP
I've got to meet you! Let me know where I can meet you next game. We need to take your show on the road and make millions.
-
Stats and Score - misleading. The Owls looked great in the 1st half. Game was never in jeopardy. Take the win, Get some kids in for experience and move on to next week.
-
Can the Canes rebound this week like the Owls did last week?
-
Glad to see the Owls bounce back Friday. Hopefully the momentum will continue this week. I still believe this district is up for grabs...
-
Canes may be better than the experts on this board think. I've read all the hype and it appears Cleveland is back. Watch this one closely - should be a good one!
-
SIR DEM OWLS WILL THROW THE BALL 99%OF THE TIME RIGHT OR WRONG.
Got to run it sometimes. Owls win this one big.
-
I actually think these 2 teams are well suited for each other. Should be a close game. If Owls can get mentally past the Riverdale thrashing they should squeak out a close win.
From what I have read the Owls ran into a buzz saw last week. Hopefully, they can rebound this Friday. It will be interesting to see how this district shapes up with the resurgence of some teams that were down last year. Good luck guys.
-
Heart pick for the Owls. This school and these kids deserve to have a great year all the way around after last year.

Does TSSAA do a state coach of the year for each class? or a boys All State basketball team?
I know we had several Chattanooga kids make All State for football, but I haven't seen anything in the paper about basketball?

I am several years away from this issue, but I think the answer depends on each father/daughter combination. Here are the factors I plan on weighing.
#1-You are parent first. If you think that being your daughters coach is going to put a strain on your relationship that will hurt it forever, then you don't need to coach her. If she blows a lay up that would have won you a game, will you be able to get into the car after the game and cry with her like a parent should? Or will you be upset that the player next to you choked?
#2-How will the people around the program react? If you are going to coach her, how will you respond to people that say she plays only because she is the coach's kid? You have to be fair to her. Don't be too hard because she's your daughter. Don't be too easy because she's your daughter.
#3-Do you have good assistants? You will need someone to be honest with you when you are in your blind spots. The assistants need to be able to give you an honest assessment of your daughter.
#4-What does she want? If she is scared of playing for you, figure out why.
Overall, I am very excited about potentially coaching my daughter. I think the big key for us is drawing good boundaries about where the coach/player relationship starts and the father/daughter ends.
Good Luck.
I've seen this play out for 40 years and cannot recall one example of a Coach regretting it.
Plenty of examples out there right now to check out.
Shulman (boys coach) at McCallie/ son
MTSU football (son is QB)
Closer to home and on the girls side:
New Coach at E. Hamilton will be coaching his daughter or already is?
Bradley Central's coach had his daughter a few years ago.
Hamilton Heights coach is mother to her daughter on the team and another daughter coming next year supposedly from E Ham.
I would encourage you to contact these and do some research.
Good luck to you and your daughter.

As painful as this is for anyone who was not at fault, this is probably the only action that would help this terrible situation. It is just too hot in our area for extreme action to not be taken. God help all that are affected.

Never hit the panic button 1st semester. Meshing football players that go deep into the playoffs takes several weeks. Measure this team by what it does 2nd semester and post season.
-
#BIGBOYFOOTBALL IS ABOUT TO HAVE A TEAM IN THE SEMIS FOR THE 2ND TIME IN 4 YEARS SINCE 2012 IN WHICH DEM OWLS LOST TO COLUMBIA IN QTR.FINALS
2013 CLEVELAND LOST TO KNOX WEST SEMIS
2014 RHEA LOST TO KNOX WESTSEMIS
OOLTEWAH TAKES ON RHEA IN THE 2015 QTR FINALS...THE WINNER GOES ON TO PLAY
SEVIER/MORRISTOWN WEST WINNER!!
SO PROUD OF MY REGION..STILL IN IT TO WIN IT!! #LOP #BIGBOYFOOTBALL!!

Owls need to play at their highest level and eliminate all turnovers tonight. Speed, Speed and more Speed. Good Luck Owls!
-
No idea what this means, but just felt I had to say this one time! ....#LOP
Lol, now I feel better..

Preach it bro. My dad did farm chores, then went to school, then practiced HS football, then walked home (3-4 miles because there was not car in the family), more chores then homework and bedtime. I was softer than that growing up but still I worked on farming, mowing yards, either walked or rode a bike everywhere, played backyard tackle football year around without any pads.... but now my kids complain if someone doesn't like their latest FB post.
Parents, look in the mirror, we may just be part of the problem... Oh one more thing, when I was growing up there was no such thing as this tee-ball everybody-is-a-winner junk either.
This :30 advertisement says it ALL, Kudos to Kia for trashing the Political correct movement:
-
A slap on the wrist and an apology are appropriate gestures, but this :30 Kia car ad sums up what this generation of kids are being taught. Toughen up and play to win! That is REAL LIFE. Take a look!

Throw the records out. It's playoff time. If Cleveland can repeat the performance given vs. the Owls, they have a few playmakers that can make this game very interesting. Keep in mind that I know nothing about Farragut, just impressed with what I saw in Cleveland despite a poor record.
OOLTEWAH VS CLEVELAND
in Class 5A & Class 6A

Yes I agree but I see that as positive to overcome that many TO's and still win. I don't believe the Owls will turn it over like that again. I liked that fact that they played through a less than stellar performance in efficiency and found a way. Get all that out of their system.
