  1. So you honestly think if he was offered a coaching job (coordinators job), at the school he grew up in, drives by everyday. That he wouldn't take it? Come on now.... Bottom line is offered the right job, with the right conditions, and the right pay, he would be wearing Org/Blk, before you blink your eyes, so yes I guess it is good to have dreams... You have yours and obviously I have mine... Now lets go back in time a bit... Wasn't Robert Akins your coach? Actually the best one you have ever had, hands down. But, you ran him off, all because he wanted to lead his personal life the way he wanted to lead it. So don't preach to me about parent/faculty involvement.
  2. Oh I said a lot, and there is a lot more to say. Obviously you have a hard time reading between the lines, so i'll spell it out for you. I never said we wouldn't be back, or ever good again. No where in my post does it say that, but you can take it to the bank, if the staff isn't changed soon, it will be a very long time before we are ever good again. Name a coach that once he loses the players respect he ever gets it back? It doesn't happen period. As far as Old Pirate, and RLH are concerned, where as I respect what they have seen and done, sometimes things change and you aren't willing to admit to yourself that things are beyond your age of comprehension. Things change, people change, and times change, and that is why we are in the place we are in now, we aren't ready to admit that yet. I don't want to hear anything about talent, we should've lost 2 games up until last night, BELL and MC, the other games was lost by the coaches plain and simple. Admit it to yourself or not, but that is the facts.
  3. Okay, lets get our story straight here. We didn't throw him away. Most of us didn't even know it was happening until it was to late. One person cried and cried like a baby, and he finally got his way, and the ball started rolling from there. Stoney knows the majority didn't like how that went down, and he knows who has his back. Now as far as Boyd is concerned, no disrespect to your program, but beating MC dressed in blue, doesn't have the same feel, as beating them while your in the org/blk. But I guess its good for you to have dreams I guess.
  4. Let me get this straight... I never said it was easy, but when you compound all of the above into making the job harder and take away what chance you do have to win, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. As I have read in some of your other posts it takes talent to win, and talent makes or breaks a coach. If that is the case why hasn't the talent on the sideline been developed? Why as a coach hasn't he been able to motivate them and make them do the right things? Why is it people young ....middle aged and even the oldest generations are screaming it now? I guess we're all wrong and your right? I guess talent is the reason we blew 2 timeouts in the 2nd half because we couldn't get the plays in?? Better yet when he leaves and is looking for a coaching job, since he is so greaT you can follow him to the next program, oh wait there won't be another head coaching job in his future. Face it just like Colquitt time has past him by.
  5. Sorry Orangeslice....but if Ole Stoney has the chance to come back home he will. Just to prove certain people wrong, and the fact he bleeds Orange/Black. Nothing like beating Marion County for Ole Stoney...
  6. Better clarify coaching changes as well, before I upset some people. Vic Grider if he wants to come back if not see below. Heath Grider- New Head Coach Wes Stone- Coordinator (Because like him or not he gets it) If you don't understand that, take your kid somewhere else) EJ Bradford- Strength and Conditioning/ O line and D Line Send the rest packing and hire some new excited young blood.
  7. Now I'm going to follow up with a few things I left out. Our boys fought hard, and they did everything that was asked of them. And I take great pride as I'm sure others do. They did a darn good job. This loss was not your fault. Hold your heads high, and be proud your a South Pittsburg Pirate!
  8. Well I've waited out the rest of the season before I brought this back up. After lasts nights performance I'm convinced that a change has to he made. I was truly disappointed in our performance at Whitwell, even though we won. I was disappointed on the Boyd game, where we again let one go right through our fingers, the Marion game was a joke. And then yet again we manage to give another one away. Yes I'm quite aware in the Marion game they was better prepared, and they have some very good talent, but we showed absolutely no emotion, no fire, and we ran the same stuff they had already seen. We was going to lose but we went to a gun fight with no gun. Which brings me to the beginning of my rant. I sat and watched last nights game, and I looked across the field and what do I see? Teamates clapping and cheering? Teammates jumping up and down? And why must I ask? Becuase there team was doing something good... Its called excitement!! Its call momentum!!! Your player s are fired upset and then your crowd is fired up. So with all of that being said that brings me to my first point. 1. Do you know that our players from day one was not allowed to show emotion? They was told and scolded for doing so hence the reason they was never fired up. Cant when ballgames when you can't excited about something. 2. After games that was away our boys wasn't allowed to stop and eat? Now think about this for a moment. And yes that includes last night. You ate around 12:00 or 1:00 yesterday and then you have about a 2 hour ride home and you can't stop and get a hamburger? Come on now.. I mean are you really kidding me? And I'm sure there are some naysayers who are going to say well that is extra expense, that is crap and we all know it. There is more than enough money to go around in our town to buy boys burgers, it boils down that you think this is how you get across to a bunch of boys who just lost a tough game and you want to prove some point? 3. Do you realize that during ballgames he would actually turn around and tell our cheerleaders to be quiet? Yes I actuall saw this with my own eyes. He turned around during several games and during the game he would basicslly run his hand across his mouth like a zipper and have them be quiet, and what really gets me is we did it!!! Coaches, if the cheerleaders are distracting you something is majorly wrong. Concentrate on your side of the fence and we will concentrate on ours. 4. Play calling? I mean do I really have to go into this? All season it has been horrible. Last nights game, we came out and threw a pass? That was a good call... And then it disappears. We go for 2 points? That was a good call and a good play. But other than that, what did we show them? That we was going to do the samethings we had done all year long, and we didn't do that very well either. When the game is on the line, you pull out all the stops, you take chances that you have worked on. Surpise the other team with something that haven't seen for crying out loud! 5. Delay of games and timeouts. Why? Please tell me why this is still happening? Your OC should be on the sideline. You don't have time for 10 to run to the sideline get a play, run back on the field, huddle, line up, then look for another play, then send somebody in motion, all in under 25 seconds. Come on guys and on top of that we are doing all this unnecessary realying from the box to the sideline to qb. I've said enough...You get the picture. 6. Talent not being utilized. Please explain to me why 10 and 14 are in the backfield receiving the ball? Why? Because it makes sense to potentially get your only QB hurt when you have no backup? A freshman who is pretty good to be freshman, he just isn't ready for that. There are other people capable of getting out of the way or fair catching the ball if that is all your going to do, but come on special teams are important, we need to be receiving and running with the ball period! I can continue on and on, but I'm getting a headache again like last night. Bottomline is, this isn't nazi boot camp, your not the dictator, and obviously from what I've been seeing not the coaching staff that needs or truly wants this job. You don't get it nor do you understand what it takes in todays time to be a coach at a program with our tradition. Its time for the change to be made, and if the above reasons aren't enough then all the people that support this staff don't get it either.
  9. Ambassador I'm here to tell you they do exist because I have one. Now my good buddy "RLH" won't believe it because he thinks I'm a spy from the lovely town of Jasper up the road....lol!!
  10. You know Tbolt your absolutely right.... but the sad thing is we know they read, just like they let daddy's and momma's influence them on who should be getting playing time.
  11. My thoughts exactly.... Please oh please somebody explain this one to me!!!
  12. Now we are talking, see I'm not the only one questioning what is going on in this mad house. Hey! Did you steal my playbook? I need that playbook back where I can show "rlh" that I know what I'm talking about. Oh when I meet up with "rlh" can you let me borrow a SP golf shirt where I can prove I'm a pirate fan......I mean because I couldn't possibly have anything SP clothing wise at my house. Maybe I'll wear my Dillard shirt....lol
  13. Glad Lil Johnny's dad has joined us. Your doing the right thing by staying out of it, just sit back and watch raising enough questions does.
  14. Nah... As you have read on here from other people posting we don't have the speed for that....LOL!! But you have hit the nail right on the head. It is exactly what we should be running. But I guess they think the line can block all night while we do the faking of the handoffs to 2 players and then step back to throw as he is running for his life because it took all day to do that other nonsense....
  15. It's kind of amazing to me that just because I've never posted before, means I'm not a Pirate fan? But you are free to believe what you want. I'm not on here to win a popularity contest anyway. And as you can tell by some of the other posts that are on here, you can tell I'm not the only one questioning what is going on. I
  16. Tidepride1...boy oh boy the name says it all. Another person who types with emotion and doesnt read. Had you read this entire thread you would realize that I'm obviously not the only one not only seeing what is happening but also knows and believes that what I'm saying are the facts. Why is that? Because I do know their capabilities. ..and as I said before there are fresh bodies on the sideline who can contribute and they aren't. As I stated in my earlier posts I guess that you failed to read, which doesn't surprise me hence the name. No one and I mean no one can give their best effort if they have been on the field 95% of the time period. There is no excuse for that period, when you have able bodies on the sideline that can fill in for one or 2 plays to give a guy a break. How do you expect to get experience or knowledge if they are standing the entire game on the sideline? I have news for you there arent going to be many if any games that will allow for them to get experience because we are blowing someone out. There are a whole lot of reasons to rotate kids in and out, experienced or not. But the major one is that we dont need our starters getting hurt because they have played the entire game. But I guess with all of your experience and knowledge you dont believe that? Guess what if they get hurt, you dont have a choice but to stick that unexperienced guy in there. So doesnt it make more sense to trickle him in here and there to at least get a little game experience, or i guess your a believer of just waiting until you have to do it with no experience? I'm sorry I don't have to use my coaching background to realize any of that. Now as far as offense is concerned. So you just stated we don't have an offensive line right? So why is QB running up the middle? Since you have your Lame Kitten offensive coordinators hat on, explain that to me please? QB is good for some bootlegs, but up the middle? Come on now against Bell County and Hixsons line ?? You stated we don't have speed..Then why on 3rd and 15, are we running the ball? I mean do you expect that guy to get you 15 yards by being lucky? The bottomline is I want them to do better and have every chance they have available to them to win. I will still be at every ballgame and still support them as I have for years. I'm not going to jump ship or stop coming just because I don't like what I'm seeing. But if I don't like what I'm seeing and I know we are giving a lack luster effort you can bet ill be here to tell it.
  17. I'll say this one more time where you can understand it. I am a supporter of Sp and have been for a long time. I have nothing to do with Jasper, Ricky, or his football team. I honestly don't care what they do, care who they play, or any of that nonesense. All I care about is that we win on Halloween night, and I mean SP. Now that you bring up a subject I was leaving along. Ill address it. So what he inherited it. Bottomline is he did inherit it. And once you do inherit it, its yours plain and simple. There was many times we could have made statements with these kids, and we chose not to. Unlike most people I'm not about winning at all costs. I believe you should be held accountable for your actions, and not given a slap on the wrist. Had we done that, maybe just maybe the issues wouldn't have carried tinto the playoffs and in to the state title game. Since you seem to have all the answers concerning the first 2 games, did we play the best players? Come on now take your bifocals off and be honest. Did we have talent on the sideline watching that shouldve been in at some point somewhere? Are the best players 100% if they play the whole game with no break? No they are not... They are 85% at best in the 4th quarter because they have had no break. And in addition to that because they have played the entire game they are subject to getting injured more easily, and then you don't have them for other games when you need them. So what is the answer??? Rotate them in and out is your only option with no depth. You have to keep your playere as fresh as possible if you want to wear down a bigger more physical team. Did we have shot in the first game? ? No we didn't....but did we have a chance in the second game?? Yes we did...but because we are running the wrong offense and because we are making the wrong coaching decisions we took what chance we had and flushed it.
