Yea, big boy from OS, and if its the kid that played for them this year then he is huge. Seen him up close and I would say he scales more than Stewart.

How is he transferring in. He either has to have a legitimate hardship or sit a year out if he has already played a year of varsity.

How many starters does Copper Basin lose?

We lose all three of our starting running backs, 2 which play LB on defense and the other is a safety. We lose one lineman that played both ways, and the big #5 receiver. Losing #19 and #31 I'd really going to Hurt. Losing just them to takes away two running backs, the punter, the kicker, safety, and outside backer

Yeah we was up big at the half and lost 34-32. You guys have more heart and a lot more physicality than they do. The only thing that should concern to is they have a little bit of a passing game. A real good Qb that will scramble if the pass isn't open. That's what Hirt is in the 2nd half. They also have a good RB but he shouldn't concern you boys. If you come out and hit him like you did us he will probably not be a factor. However, if you let him tip toe around all night he will burn you

To start I'm not trying to pick a fight, just stating facts. I just watched the play on huddle. It was actually 3rd and 5 from the 20 and I don't know the time on the clock, couldn't see it. If it had been 1st or 2nd down I could see where you're coming from but it was 3rd down. We had ran the hb pass once before so we didn't just pull it out. Would it have been better to have thrown it more conventionally? And believe me, we understand about remembering shots, we've been taking them for years! We've been on the wrong side of running up the score forever!

Re read my post. I didn't make it real clear what I was trying to say, but I was saying that it was first down and they ran it a couple more times and then they did it.

I didn't say they couldn't get excited.

I was referring to some fans that act like they are a historical powerhouse. That's not the case.

I'm just saying the fans may need to dial it down a notch. There some unneeded pressure put on the boys. Let them play ball, and I think they can win.

Oh ok. I just seem the one poster talk about coalfield only making one trip to cookeville. But I noticed he said that in reply to someone saying coalfield would make the cookeville trip two weeks in a row

I have no intentions on taking anything away from Monterey with this post. You guys earned to be where you are. I just want to shed light in the situation in which some basin fans are saying wasn't classy. You guys have the ball 1st or 2nd down with about 2.5 to three minutes left. We have 0 timeouts at this point and your up by two Tds. It seems like running out the clock was the obvious of what was about to happen. Then y'all ran it a few more times to get the clock on down, and then pull out the halfback pass.... That is all we was saying that considering the situation it was unnecessary. Once again I'm not taking anything away, but coaches remember that and in Single A no one is on top forever. So don't be mad when teams rember those shots in the years your down

Lord here goes the cocky crap. Let them be da** excited. I get so sick of seeing people throwing around the word "cocky" after a team gets a big win. No they prolly haven't been here before that's why they are so excited. They beat us last night so I still have a grudge lol but they played hard and just outplayed us. So let the boys be happy. If you wanna talk about cocky then there is one group I think we can all agree on that is cocky. But they win so it is ok??

Congrats to Monterey. You boys came out and beat us at our own game. That is all I can ask. Our boys gave it all we had and u just answered the bell. As far as running it up no 28-8 isn't. But the circumstances it kind of was. But hey I'm not complaining at all. Them boys deserve it like I said before the game whoever wins is deserving. Now go get coalfield

Good Post, sounds sorta like Monterey. In Putnam County they are considered the "people from the Mountain." I will guarantee you this, CB may not have much but they got more than Monterey. Those boys have had to fight through it all no field, no school, no locker room, and they just keep the course. Sounds like tonight will be a great game between two deserving teams that will battle the whole game and not give up. Go Wildcats!!

It's gameday! But two or three has already best me to that lol. I get outta class around 130 then goodbye Knoxville and hello cookeville. Heard the boys are very emotional and reay to go right now. Yes just one more day until Friday night lights and I can't wait to watch the game. It does feel good watching this group of young men especially when I have coached more than half the team and have watched them grow into the players that they have become and have seen so much improvement from grade school ball to junior high and now high school! And I am very proud of all of them but I really enjoy getting to watch my son play the most! Go Wildcats!!

Nothing better than seeing a kid you have coached succeed at the next levels. I hope for a hard hitting injury free game. I think these two teams will I've us a great game. There will be a lot of pride on the line in this one

Sometimes it isn't about the individual, its about the team. The lotion mess should have been cleaned up. The leadership on the team should have handled that before a coach even saw it. If you go to college or join the military, you guys better get that squared away. I am not talking about the ball playing either, I am talkiing about the game of life. When you disrespect your coach, you disrespect yourself, your team, your school and your community. Then again, maybe a Big Mac is more important.

Heard from some a good source that they only lose 3 or 4 on each side of the ball this year. I think those are the same kids playing both ways. I believe Monterey will pull this one out. Gonna be a good game!!

Midweek fellas. Only a few short days left. I Can't wait for the game. Nothing beats Friday night football. Neyland stadium comes close, but nothing like the boys from where you grew up getting the job done. I am nervous about this one, but I am also confident we will do what it takes and rise to the challenge. These boys have done it week in and week out

If you guys win I will be pulling for in the semis, but gotta stick with the upper Cumberland in this one... No hard feelings

No hard feeling lol. I was just givin ya a hard time. I was told a minute ago they had quite a few seniors I'm not sure of they all play a significant role or not. I believe it'll be a good game though. Too hard hitting teams going at it.

Back in the day Monterey posters would be live, but nothing much on the hill these days in the way if coacht posters. Monterey has a bunch of seniors and since they've lost to Clay County they have been on an absolute tear beating some decent teams by a lot of points like Jackson County and Gordonsville. I do, however, expect Copper Basin to pull out the win but I'll be pulling for Monterey. Im expecting this to be a very good ge and almost tempted to make the trip to see it.

Monterey has a Hardees, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Subway and a couple grocery stores. They do have a hotel. A couple of gas stations. Not very big. People go to Cookeville or Crossville to do shopping, movies and such.

That's about the same for us. There is some movies and like McDonald's and some restraunt about 20 min away In georgia

Monterey dominates goes to state upsets UC, Movie made they get a field and radio station, Golden Corral moves in. It becomes a tourist attraction. Motel 8 builds new motel, economy booms. no pressure

How big is Monterey as far as landmarks. We have a Hardee's, 3 gas stations, movie store, and a grocery store lol

Only stat I know is the RB had like 1500 yards after 10 games. Only way I know that is cause it was in the local newspaper.
