Coach John Olive was not only a great coach, he was also a great man! In 1983 I was one of lucky ones to have him as a coach at Loudon High School! His impact on that team has never been forgotten! 12-1 State Semi-finals. The Redskins want to say THANK YOU COACH! Job well done!

Well our boys deserve a website after pulling together for a hard fought good win Fri night. No one including myself thought we had a shot but we did learn a little about how to win fri.So much negativity right now about the hire in the stands and on here myself included but we forget these are Greenback boys and sometimes they can find the will to win because its instilled in them from youth ball up!The offense HAS to find it's way SOON!!The D can only keep you in it so long before our depth will get us.I have said since the beginning of last season-We have talent- BUT every team no matter how talented needs a leader to get over the hardest bumps or you get beat by the teams you shouldn't.I saw that this team has heart and grit,we need more fire at times but we can be successful with this group. The whole staff needs to use each others knowledge of the game and put the plan together-Together!We have to win this game because in all truthfulness wins are gonna be hard to get this year.Knox Webb,Loudon,Coalfield and Oakdale are all winning and we will be hard pressed to come out 2-2 or 1-3 and be healthy! We are starting 3 Freshman and after Fri in my opinion we should be starting 4.The young QB looked mature for his age behind center.#6 the junior is very good with the ball in his hands also.Line play wasnt spectacular but was solid!

    Congratulations on the VICTORY!!!

It’s a rare occasion that would cause me to begin a new thread on here, but I feel that this is such an occasion. I have nothing against Elizabethton, but it has been a long time since I have been as happy for a high school coach as I am for Coach John Olive. Although he is given credit for it by diehard Maryville fans, 99% of high school football fans have no idea that Coach Olive is responsible for the Maryville Football Dynasty. Coach Olive served as head coach at Maryville High in the late 80’s and early 90’s when their program had been irrelevant for 15 years. What few times they did qualify for the playoffs, they were blown out in the first round. After the 1990 season, Coach Olive was in the market for a new DC and took a chance by reaching out to longtime Rhea Co. DC Tim Hammontree, who along with HC the late Bill Horton, had just finished an incredible 10 year run that included 2 runner-up finishes in the state’s highest class. Sensing it was time for a change, Hammontree accepted the offer. 2 years later Olive accepted the HC job at Tullahoma. Now, it sounds crazy today to say that a coach would leave Maryville for Tullahoma, but at the time it was seen as a big step up. Maryville promoted Hammontree to HC, and he hired an unknown named George Quarles as OC, and 5 years later Maryville was state champs. Hammontree then left for a job in Georgia, and Quarles was promoted to HC. 15 years later, Quarles had the highest winning percentage in America. I know from communicating with Maryville fans that they have the upmost respect for Coach Olive and are very happy for him Congrats on a job well done!!

Congratulations to the Tullahoma community and to  Coach John Olive. Coach Olive was a coach at Loudon High School in 1983! He helped coach a team that went undefeated and lost in the State Semi-Final. Due to cut-backs in the school system Coach Olive had to leave Loudon High School. He was sadly missed by all players and students!  He was one of the most first class coaches I have ever met in my life! Congratulations Coach on a job WELL DONE!!! The REDSKIN family is proud to say you were once one of us!!! Go Redskins!

Hey how are the concessions at loudon county, do they serve hamburgers?

Yes sir! We have plenty of food for everybody! Two concession stands, one on the scoreboard end of the home bleachers and one on the other end by the visitor locker room and restrooms! Hope you guys bring a good crowd and look forward to a good game!

Loudon can't block Alcoa. Harig will be running for his life or on his back if they play the Tornadoes. It will be made worse since Loudon has a limited run game.

Harig is a great talent but the Naders are a different animal as we all know.

We got to win two more games before we can even think about that!!! It won't be easy as we are not that good!

If Loudon cant throw yes Kingston should win.Harig has won at least 2 of these games with his arms and legs.Their reg run game isnt very good but that QB is dangerous if the pocket opens.

Hopefully after last week we get a little fire back in this team! Confidence is great but reality can make you real hungry I hope!!!! We will see if there is any leadership on this team tonight! Good luck and GO REDSKINS!!!!!

34-12 Final. Our young team played very hard tonight.Proud of our effort.Everyone called for a blowout and we made a ball game out of it.Losing our hard running Soph Workman in first half hurt us in the second but the others stepped up Franklin played his tail off.

Not the showing we hoped for but never the less a win! Congratulations to Greenback, showed alot of grit and determination!  Good luck to you guys the rest of the season! I think you will be fine!! Wish this REDSKIN team had your heart and passion! Not something you can coach!! Good Luck Cherokees!
