I don't blame Loudon though, I wouldn't want to take the chance of getting beat by a school that has a total enrollment of 180+/-. Its hard to believe that you cant put a football team together out of a school that has 740+/-kids. At least one that can beat little old Greenback. No he didn't! But with a team full of All-State players I would hope you could beat a terribly coached Loudon team or any other 3A school you play! Wish you guys the best of luck this season! Just hope we can make it a game! Go REDSKINS!! I don't think it will be a 40+ game!

Nice try OnB! The emphasis at Loudon this year is definitely not based on a game with Greenback! And far as "the lil' team across the river" that will always be LC! The Cherokees are much better than they are and we know that. We are just trying to put this program back together and become competitive. If we were back to the Loudon of old, this game wouldn't even be on your schedule! We have a great respect for your program and when we won at Greenback 2 years ago, we weren't very good then either! Good luck to both teams and may we both be injury free!!

Very much improved! Showed discipline and could actually line up! We couldn't line up last year at the end of the season!! Scrimmage Polk Co. Friday, be interesting to see any kind of changes.

Any news out of the Redskin Camp! How many players? New Coaches? Players to look out for?

Supposed to be Scrimmage/Practice with Kingston today @ Loudon. Should see where they stand today? Look to be very young but much more aggressive. I have seen a lot of enthusiasm so far in practice. Things are looking better already!

Ive heard it wasn't even between them ywo, it was Harig and another coach from out west. I haven't heard who they decided yet or even if they made a decision.

NO! It's not a board issue, it's a Principal isuue! The board just needs to get it fixed.

2 years ago the strength of the team was the line....however there was nobody that could go 80 yards at any given time. No speed.  Plus they were learning a new system. 

This year's team, had a little more athleticism...the freshman kid and the transfer qb....but again not much.

 

I think the stall in the hiring has to be a political battle of some kind.....they can't all agree on bringing Harig back and maybe trying to find someone new

It's a shame we are 3 weeks from spring practice and even having this discussion. Just get it done NOW! Drop you ego's and make a hire. If Harig wants the job give it to him. I think he definitely proved he can do it 16+ years of experience! As a REDSKIN!!!

The cupboard being bare was just an excuse. From everyone I have talked to, the line from 2 years ago was fairly experienced and strong and had alright talent at the skill positions. They let a 2-8 Mcminn Central score 66 on them. Being realistic, the problem has mostly been with coaching and preparation. The recent coach didn't have the resume that should have qualified him for that position. Why he got it, I am unsure. Maybe they rushed getting a new coach in, maybe he had connections, or maybe he just said the right things in an interview, or maybe the administration really didn't care that much and put someone in the position that would take a certain amount of money and fill a teaching spot. Either way it seems that since the last coach left, the kids and the football program has not been a priority. Both hiring processes have proven that in my opinion. But I also have no connection with anyone that might have information. I go by runors here, word of mouth, and results.

Most definitely an administration issue!! I have seen some really good coaches leave Loudon

due to that reason. I want go into specifics but the facts are pretty clear. This is an issue that the front office and school board need to address or there will never be any success in Loudon Athletics again! I'm talking all sports! Add up the experience years of the head coaches at Loudon! Football - was 4, 2 Midway and 2 Loudon, Basketball - 1 this year, Baseball - 0, Softball - 0. It's really sad for the kids who love sports and their school!

Harig left for what he thought was a better job and what he thought would be a good move for his family. I think most all of us have had more than one job in our life.  And a lot of people realize the grass isn't greener on the other side. They sure do. Which is why this is such an issue. Why it took nearly 2 months to start interviews is beyond me. Thats 2 months of building relationships and establishing the culture and expectations rather it is Harig or not. I've not heard anyone speak of whats actually occurring with the players this offseason while they wait. I just hope they aren't too distracted by the hiring process. Hopefully this week will be end it and the players can get ready for what the new coach has for them.

No announcement today! Cherri Parriish and Ronnie Roberts both need to look at the job they

have done on this situation, and give a very deep apology not only to the students of LHS! But alumni and fans! This is an embarrassment to the Redskin Nation!! As far as what the players have been doing for workouts, less than 20 participants because they have no coach! Hire Jeff Harig today and put some class and pride back in Loudon Football! Yep we won in four overtimes at Maryville that year 17-14 and lost in two overtimes at Everett. That was Barney's last high school football game.

Well Harig interviewed Thursday! After being there for over 15 years not real sure why he even had to? Hopefully they will announce him HC on Monday! Go Redskins!

I miss the days when Maryville played Loudon. When I was at Maryville back in the seventies that was a tough game always and having played in those series back then you could have never told me I would see the day when Loudon Football would be in this kind of mess. Since then the town of Maryville took off and grew like a weed and surpassed all those smaller schools but it was much tougher to get into the playoffs back then with only three classes and eight teams picked to go into the playoff's. 

The OT game at Everett in 75' was an incredible game! Loudon went on to win back to back state titles!! I think Maryville won the regular season game that year! Two great teams!

Seems to me he would be the obvious chose. Done pretty well from looking at his past record at Loudon. They should of never let him go to West.

Day two is coming to a close. Any updates on who has applied or interviewed yet? I am still sold on their minds being made up, but I have been wrong more than I have been right.

I wish you all had information like this regarding the future coach of Loudon Football lol. Not sure they have made any steps forward in the progress to find a new coach. It is just odd that over a month has gone by and nothing has been done.

The decision making at Loudon is pathetic!! First of all, why did you wait until February to get rid of Campbell!!! Should have been done in early December! A new coach should have been hired by now. Instead your going to go into Spring practice saying who's that guy and what's your name!
