  1. Powell did not have a good football team this year before the coaching drama. It will take them several years to recover the mistakes that they have hired over the past five years. Constantly changing head coaches and administrators is not conducive to a winning attitude and program.

Powell will lose to Gibbs and then Gibbs will win out the next two games also. Gibbs will finish with four district wins and four losses to put them in the playoffs. Gibbs still has not beaten a good team this season.

Gibbs is a good football team and the program has improved tremendously since Brad Conley became the head coach. He is a good role model and motivator.

You still taking shots at GIBBS huh?

  2. Gibbs was faced with a tough patch in the schedule which I beleived helped them. They seem to me more fluid on offense and If they come out firing on all cylinders, I can't see the starters staying in long.

Also, Gibbs has a very underrated defense that has kept them in games when they literally had no offense and I think that defense is just too much for Powell.

    Gibbs by 35

  3. I agree 92. Gibbs was able to break 3-4 40 plus yard rushes on them. I'm sure with the speed of Clintons backfield there should be a few big plays that goes the distance.

The reason I Think this one will be close is because Sequoyah does have the ability to pound a team between the tackles and milk the clock.

  4. AC: 49-7 (AC is just too strong upfront for Halls)

CC: 38-28 (CC has too much offense for Karns to keep up with but I do think it will be closer than most believe. Karns may sneak a couple of rushing TD's on CC if they are able to get on the outside)

OR: 42-14 (OR is just too much in every postion for Central)

Gibbs: 42-7 (Gibbs offense has shown improvement and have seemed to open the playbook up a little more. Gibbs is in must win mode. I look for them to throw everything they have at powell in the first half and get the starters out of the game early)

Clinton: 28-24 (Sequoyah is a physically strong team with lots size everywhere. I got a chance to watch them against gibbs this summer and IMO had took a step back from last year. With all things equal, speed kills.)

  5. Dose of reality was the Devils 100% did not come to play Central may have put up 42 but, that had allot to do with the Devils laying down like the Devils of old, I think AC wins big as well they have a team of players that have been together a while and they are a pretty good football team. Halls was flat as it comes Friday and that number 10 who can make allot of players look bad made us even look worse. The one question I do ask though, a couple of the kids in the student section was talking about how the Central coach that teaches at Halls made all the football players that is in his class do leg workouts in wellness all week, seems a little fishy to me but, after the game I ask some of the players and they confirmed it that they were required to do one of the hardest leg workouts late in the week and the teacher does coach at Central, I guess he was a little worried , anyway my Devils have been getting better but still have a ways to go at least we are not 0 and 10 again this year.

If the leg workout thing is true, then I blame the Halls AD and football coach. Maybe times have changed since I was in school but football players where not aloud to do certain things. Non sanction workouts and sports in gym was two of the biggest no no's

  6. AC will dominate all areas of this game. Halls does not have the interior defense to slow down the AC run game. Halls has improved a lot but I can still see the AC starters sitting by half time and the 2's adding two more scores the second half.

    49-7 AC

  7. Sounds like Gibbs is clicking on all cylinders tonight.

    We needed this game!

The offense is looking a lot crisper. The 1st defense may have given up 100 total yards tonight and that's including a 60 yard KR.

We had a SB 125 yards and 2 TDs before half. The JV got a lot of work tonight.

    35-14 Gibbs (final)

  8. I still beleive it's more about little league programs than growth of the locations. Top little league programs in knoxville in the last 6-8 years are Fulton (coach josh), west, catholic and south Doyle ( south Knox) or whatever they are/where called.

West use to make the little league coaches come to a coaching clinic put on by the high school coaches.

West and Fulton both pretty much run a high school offense at the midget and super midget level. The offense and terminology is not a foreign language to these kids when they step on the high school field day 1.
