  1. Who do you all see winning the contest Friday? by how much? and why? Personally, i actually see Jackson County winning this one. If i remember correctly Allen didn't play the first half of the game the last time these two teams played, which should make a significant difference. I saw she put up 33 points in the game verses Clay county, and seen her give a great double-double effort at C-Range. Her, paired with Flynn and Sherill (who i have been told is returning) should put up a good fight for the win. Also, last time i believe Phillips fouled out. No doubt PC is a tough team with a great coach, but i see JC with the edge on this contest.
  2. Plain and simple, Pickett county came to play ball. I think Jim Brown may have made a mistake keeping Allen benched the first and second quarters. He's a great basketball mind, but i think he dropped the ball on that one. Congrats to the bobcats! The pritchett girl looks promising.
  3. I myself have JC by 15, with ferrel and allen playing the biggest roles from either side. However, from Pickett County, Buck could contribute more points than any shooter from Jc which may sway the outcome.
  4. Who does everyone think will come out the victor in tomorrow nights game? by how much? and who do you see as the key players in this game?
  5. What is everyone's thoughts on who will come out on top? by how much? and why?
  6. Tomorrow Van Buren and Jackson County go head to head in their season opener. Who do y'all see winning? By how much? And why?
  7. The team for everyone to beat this year is Clarkrange. But if I'm Jim Brown, I'm not focusing on Clarkrange as much as I am Van Buren. From Jackson County's standpoint, in order to make a run at the State Title again, they have to get there first. Even if they come second in the district to C-Range, they advance to Region, And even if they come second again, they advance to Sub-state. That's the game that you can't lose and advance with. This is assuming that JC beats Pickett (Which i believe they will). And that Van Buren wins their Region (which i believe they will. Lakelyn Bouldin is an outstanding player that has range and versatility. If JC makes it to state with C-Range, they may just have to sit back and wait. Usually they are blessed with the better draw, and they hold up much better under the big lights. Should be a great season, all in all! Key for: C-range?- Calm the girls down. Too often they have lost to teams they shouldn't for no reason other than nerves. They are very talented girls and have the abilities no doubt. Also, harness Kara Meadows! She is a force to be reckoned with and she's only a Sophomore! Van Buren- Someone other than Lakelyn Bouldin must step up. She is in a league of her own, but the State Championship showed us last year that one player can't win it by themselves. Pickett- Handle the ball more effectively. They have a very intelligent coach, and need to work on conditioning the players, including improving ball handling. Buck can knock down a three pointer and they all know how to draw a foul! Jackson- Harness Allen and Flynn! Enough said. Flynn has the potential to be a remembered PG. She is selfless and shoots and handles the ball well. (or at least she did when i last seen her.) Allen is one of the most athletic girls to come through JC, starting since Freshman year if im not wrong. These girls aren't newbies either. Winning a state title and runner up, 2 District titles and a region title. They have battled before. These are only the opinions of 7A, of course.
