  1. Thanks for the breakdown so the country folks like myself get a better understanding. Big Bigby appreciate the neutral vibes. Mostly definitely will be a good game. Both teams know what's on the line. Our Seniors know this could be it. It will come down to simply who wants it more. The loss to Huntland hurt more because that wasn't our team out there. Friday night will be a nail bitter. Obviously I'm pulling for a MC win. But it's gonna be interesting..

If it wasn't your Raider team out there vs Huntland, whose team was it? I heard they had Raider uniforms on and some of the Lynchburg community was there.

  2. This is one of the rare threads where the post game rhetoric is more engaging than pre game.

Here's what I see from the Fayetteville City side.

Moore County needs to give the new Offensive Coordinator time so he can teach his offense to the players. Yes, the QB is young but from what we hear, he gives them the best chance to win. He will be a great asset in the future. Moore County has brought in some great young coaches that are working their tails off. Give them time and support.

  3. Dang Big! You must be a hammer 'cause you hit it on the head. Those poor little fellers back in the Holler must be so upset. Dreams of glory and post season play fade away in their minds like yesterday's school lesson with each passing Friday. Reality came crashing down on their heads when CA pulled down their drawers and spanked them silly. Coming into a realigned region, expecting to stomp over all these new, upstart football programs, surely the Baby Blue could bring back the glory days of history.

We (FHS, S'town, & GCA) don't have a history, we're making it as we go. You could argue, what has more value; kicking a first year program's butt or losing by a red hair? I would say a win is a win, and a loss is a loss, but to win big like you are supposed/expected to, has less of a value than fighting and scratching to the bitter end, losing it and leaving all on the field. Learning from that loss, and using what you learned--what worked vs what didn't against a "superior" team, against your next opponent.

Now, keep in mind, these are 15, 16, 17, maybe a couple of 18 year old boys going out there. We want them to shake off last week's disappointments, homecoming distractions, girlfriend issues. Whatever is running through their minds, we want all of that to be put aside and focus on play execution, timing, balance, confidence in personal ability, game plan, and muscle memory. Put all those things together and you have a team at their best. Put all those things as a primary focus for the eleven who happen to be out there on the field, and you have a winning combination.

I would say that MC followed the status quo of what was expected, that is, they weren't expected to do anything up against CA, and they didn't. They were expected to smoke GCA and S'town, so they did. They're not expected to do anything this Friday, so they won't. You ever watch the Matrix movies? Cause and Effect. Then MC has an open date, then on the road @ Huntland and @ Richland, then the western Tigers of Mt. Pleasant come calling. I don't expect that MC will have anything left in the tank after they visit the Tiger Den on Friday, no matter what region standings are up for grabs. The stars are aligned for the upstarts, and the sun is setting on the old Raiders.

  4. phil24,

I also agree 100% on your comments. I've watched it all season. I think you may have spoken on something that was none of your business and tried to fight a battle that was not about you but none the less you exposed who GWH is and that explains everything.

Please get your facts straight. There was no girl recruited to Moore country. In fact the girl you are referring to was going to a small Christian school at the time. Her parents wanted her to get away from some of the issues and drama in Manchester. After spending a year at that school, her parents wanted her to return to public school without returning to the same group of friends at Coffee co. That's why she enrolled at Moore.

Sure it was. You actually think grow ups in either communities believe that? Lol. The facts are correct. Everyone knows it....quit being gullible...

  6. Huntland isn't so superior. That's never been the frame of mind here, unlike some places.

Yes, MC has had success against us for many years. I believe there is a some new young teachers and coaches at our school that are talking to our athletes about what it takes to be successful. We have some really good ball players at the school right now and that helps as well.

Ecu, just tracking games via coacht doesn't paint the entire picture. These 2 groups of girls (except for the girl that Slatten recruited from Coffee County) at Huntland and MC have played against each other more than what is recorded on coachT. Huntland has had success in those games.

It's been a fun year and both of these communities and schools are great places with great people. I've enjoyed the conversations this year. Good luck to MC.

  7. No it's not a "great" feeling. It is a normal feeling. Huntland is better than MC so it don't feel "great" to beat people you are better than. Smh. If MC beats Huntland it would be an upset but upsets happen.

  8. That Foster kid plays all 3 sports? Wow! You mean he don't "specialize" in basketball and play it year around? You mean he's selfless and he thinks about how he can help his school win in other sports? He isn't afraid to hit a Homerun, throw a curve, intercepted a pass, lead the conference in yards receiving, steal bases, flat back a WR AND DOMINATE his district in basketball? I'll take a kid that sacrifices his own ambitions at times because he loves his school and community over a "specialized" ANY DAY OF THE WEEK SAID THE COLLEGE

  9. Lets clear something up I never said they were horrible just inconsistent. In my opinion that is due to how much they shoot the three. Huntland can beat a lot of good teams but I don't think they are in the top three or four in the district.

Let's talk about being inconsistent again gwh? After last night you should have no room to talk about any other team being inconsistent but your own.

  10. 1. Community

    2. Forrest

    3. MTCS

    4. Moore Co

    5. Huntland

    6. Eagleville

    7. City

Top 4 will make region and 3 9A teams and Houston Co will make the second round of region with the chance to play for Sub State.

You, my friend, are a complete BAFOON! How does it feel to be that ignorant?

  11. What do you mean and are you serious? They are starting 4 freshmen every game and still have a winning season going. They have beaten some really good teams this year. While they have under performed in a few games, dosent mean the sky is falling in Lynchburg. Right now they are not playing good ball but I think Slatten can right the ship and have them ready for the district tourney. Remember this is the same team that had community beat before fouling on a rebound with 1 second left. When these girls play their role they are tough to beat. Don't think any of the top teams would want to play Moore the first round of district tourney. Right now Huntland has a good chance of playing them again!

I agree with that statement. MC will be a tough out once district play begins. Those girls have been blessed to have an entire community full of ex players that know how to win games. They have grown up watching what it takes to win and I'm sure they will be eager not to let the community down. There's a lot to be said for tradition and the winning tradition is still alive in MC.

  12. Thought MC had the greatest young talent on the planet coming back from last year. Seriously , what has happened in Lynchburg?

    Too much Jack Daniels? JK

They lost a key player to Lincoln County due to the lack of team chemistry which continues and that hurt them a lot this year.

  13. Still in the building. Hornets dominated for sure. Don't understand how they beat Fayettville by 1 and 4, get killed by community and then control the whole game against MC. 9A is crazy this year. I do know that MC better find some post play fast. i wonder what Huntland's shooting percentage was and how bad they out rebounded MC. Not giving up on MC but they have some major issues. Top rebounder shouldn't be chasing Golden around the top of the key for sure.

Their shooting percentage was 100% good enough to beat baby blue.
