  1. That would put 2A at 55 and 3A at 42. I doubt they do that. The way I split the classes, all classes are within 47 to 50.

I don't believe Obion Co enrollment will change enough to move out of 4A. But, Fayette-Ware might increase enough to go to 4A and who knows about Farley and MLK Prep at the bottom of 3A. They could lose enough students to go to 2A.

Depending on if TSSAA wants to keep the regions with same number of teams, I could see them putting Haywood in Region 8 also.

Anyone have a clue what Fayette-Ware's enrollment is?

  2. What are you figuring the classification size to be? I've heard as big as 51 (if privates stay in) and as low as 47 or 48 (If privates leave) Just curious what you divided yours on to come up with those? I also think Catholic will be 5A with the multiplier and I think Elizabethton will be 3A (although they may very well elect to play up)

  3. The group that South had when Wieger was there was a very athletic group.  2 all staters and pretty much the entire skill position group were 1st team all conference.  Although South does have some very good athletes right now we in no way have the talent across the board that South enjoyed 2 or 3 years ago.  Several 10th graders are starting and are just now adapting to the speed of the game, we were much better against Seymour than we were against Boone and will continue to get better as the season goes on as long as the injury bug doesn't hit us too hard.  I really don't see the talent level taking a huge jump for the next year or 2 for South either.  I think the 8th graders at Colonial Heights are loaded and we have some talented freshmen right now so maybe in 3 years....

Just in time for consolidation right?

  4. They had played every year from 1953 till 2007 when Betsy dropped Greeneville and leaving Greeneville to hustle to find a team in 2a state champ Mercer Co ky in the middle of the summer. The overall rivalry has been even in wins and losses but from 2000 to 2006 before they dropped GHS. Greeneville went 7-1 against the cyclones. Crazy to drop one of the state's longest rivalries

That is crazy, also imagine what the gates at that game would be. Any of you Betsy people know what their enrollment this fall is? They are right on bubble of 3/4A split.

  5. I also have heard 793 thrown around as the proposed number for 3A/4A divider... That was the number the TSSAA threw out in their meeting as a possibility, which of course that is based on the 2014 enrollments, but would technically put Betsy in 3A based on 2014 enrollment. So if the trend across the state among the bigger schools is that they got bigger, then that number could be 800, 815 or whatever. Who knows though...

  6. All I've seen is the projections you posted a month ago Hammer - I know that's based on the old enrollments, which is why I was curious how some enrollments may have fluctuated since then. There is also some privates in that list that may be gone, or now have higher enrollments based on new multiplier (would love to hear someone explain that better actually). Here is 3A/4A that 32Hammer posted:

And I don't know if the divisions will be cut exactly at 50 either? They are all over the place currently, meaning some divisions have 59 and others only have 53... I think it could go a lot of different ways.
