After playing that team from the West side of the bracket, I have more respect for Oakland. Yeah, Creasy has to say things like, “how about that rain, how about that mud” at the end of games to keep the faithful happy. And somebody in the press box likes to play “Turn out the Lights” real loud at the end of games, but between the lines I think they respect the game and do things the right way. I’m not real sure what lessons that last bunch is learning.
I don't love the song but i have learned to appreciate willie nelson more as a singer. And they have probably played it since we lost last in 2014 to Maryville.

Congrats to Maryville on the win. Its getting tougher to find good competition like they bring to the table every year. I think it makes the East bracket work harder and makes everyone better. Go Patriots!

Since Maryville started this run in 1997 they are 317 21. That is getting it done. Us Maryville fans have been blessed. In that time frame Maryville has won 13 State Titles and 5 Runner Ups.
Now thats a serious winning percentage.

I'm going with the horsepower. Houston by a couple of scores.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Pannell is fine. Coach has been letting Brown get some playing time since he was out the first several games. Everybody is healthy.

I think the east plays better defense and that wins titles.

Would be good to see the east bracket win 3 in a row. These teams work hard for it.

Do you think this is an accurate assesment of both of these teams?
Oakland will try to make a game of it. Doesnt look good with those state rankings. Go Patriots!

They should be in the top 20 in my opinion
Agree.

Not sure what's going on with the discipline there but the penaltys really hurt them last week.

Maryville is ranked #1 in the state, #1 in 6A, and 165 in the nation.
No doubt Maryville will be hard to beat. Go Patriots!

I expect this game to be like the 2 games in 2017 and the regular season game last year. Both teams are great. I expect this to be Maryvilles toughest test so far. Maryville has a better team this year than last year. Offense is real good and balanced. Defense is really good this year. Wouldn't trade Maryvilles Linebackers for anyone else. I know how great Whitehaven and Ravenwood are at Linebacker.
Oakland is the same on offense and defense. Will be some great competition for both. And congrats to all seniors on both teams. Highly decorated and played in some great games in the last 3 years. This will be the 5th.

Blackman is a poorly coached team. They have much more talent than Oakland.
It dont matter. Oakland wins the 2 games this year 71-14. Whatever Oakland has is working out. And by the way, how about the Mr Football candidate getting ejected at the end for Blackman. Go Patriots!!

Good season for both teams. Great competion for sure. Good luck next year to Da Haven.

Oakland has become very susceptible on defense, and Blackman appears to corrected some major problems they were having on offense. If i can remember correctly, it has been since 2014 during the regular season since Blackman has beaten Oakland. I think this will end on 11/22/19. There are a lot of ifs, but Blackman is a more physically talented team hands down. Now, we that said, Creasy’s is far superior head coach. I just see Blackman controlling the game, and Oakland having to play catch up. All in all Blackman by 14 points. This would be the second time in school history that Blackman made the semi-finals.
Good game. Good luck to Blackman next year. On to the next one. Go Patriots!!

I think Blackman has a good team and personnel. They are playing better and are team you better play hard against. Oakland is working on a pretty good home winning streak. Another good reason for the Patriots to play hard. Go Patriots!!

Congrats to the final 3. I like the competition in memphis area. Makes everyone work harder. Good luck to them.

My favorite topic! Ability or Dependability? Dogs are great to have, but only if they are playing within the scheme. You can have the best scheme on paper, but it you don't have the athletes you can't pull it off. At the end of the day football has been, and will be, which 11 play the best as a team. I have admired Maryville for years. They have not always had the best athletes but played the best as a team. I'd take a group of 11 disciplined football players doing what they are coached to do over dogs any day. Ability or Dependability? I agree with Bill Belichick. Dependability!
And a little trickery doesn't hurt anything either. Go Patriots!

Anyone underestimating Oakland is crazy. I remember last year too well. Oakland had just escaped Mt Juliet. I remember thinking even though Maryville was playing without Tee Hodge that Maryville still had a chance. Boy was I wrong.
Well put RR. Good luck this week.

I respect Da Haven but i like the Houston horsepower by a couple of scores. Good luck and have a safe game.
-
Well i do hope our under sized, talented,etc.... team can keep it close. Hate for Blackman to waste good energy on Oakland. But anyways, Go Patriots!

Maryville has beat some good teams during that time. Shows a huge ability to win in big games. That only comes with experience. Go Patriots!
