Would def be a great matchup
-
Waverly wasn't laying around eating cheese burgers last week. They had a very intensive camp at home. Conditioning went to waverly
-
What was the scoring in the scrimmages
not sure on the scoring! Waverly and union city were closely matched. looked like waverly may have been in a little better condition. would be a really good game between them in regular season. sure glad that QB is ok.
-
cricket. cricket.
-
That's awesome. Union City and Wayne County are always loaded
both sides of the ball were very impressive!
-
No open zone would not do much in Waverly, but if Wavery was a suburb a 300k population base, and practiced selective open zoning, pulling in players but keeping numbers low to stay in current classs, it would help a lot. I think the whole problem is everyone in 3a is playing for the exact same trophy, but not by the exact same rules. But I also agree you will never equal it all out, so just line it up and play ball.
true

OK!!!!! you win! add that to your stats
Ummmmmmmm......a good 75-80% of schools in Tennessee are either open zone or no-zone (mostly privates), but far fewer than that will admit it or realize they are.
OK!!!! You win! Add that to your stats
-
Kinda proves the point that open zone is not the problem.
umm?!?! ok
-
Fairveiw would be in the "few" category.
open enrollment wouldnt do a whole lot for us in waverly
-
.....secondtoone; you almost had Fairview a 3A championship ....UCM had to step up and spoil it for you..
you have to know your Pees & Kews on here or are some of these road scholars patrollin these threads will tuck your tail.....Booger nose
Booger just sayin
lol. im learning! glad yall are patrolling!
-
Hickman has CA this upcoming Friday how about you guys from Waverly
pretty sure waverly has wayne co. and union city in a 3-way scrimmage thursday. good luck and keep them boys healthy
-
No no no Boog.... just not true. Fairview is definitely open zone. On there website is a form titled "request to attend out of zone school". A student can fill one of these out and be granted permission to attend any one of the nine high schools in the county.
sorry for the quote! Def news to me!
-
it was a private that won 3A last year; but it was a PUB that won the year before that....
in the last 10 years, Fairview has been in the playoffs every year but 2005 (9 years in a row); of those 10 years, Fairview has been knocked out of the playoffs only 2x by a private
in that 10 year time frame, Booger thinking the 3A Championship has split between PUBs and Privates...in 2A where Fairview spent a few years, a private school has collected only 2 out of the 10 Championships
it appears that numbers support something other than Privates being the demise of Fairview's championship quest
Booger sees the Yellowjackets having another strong season with 7; maybe 8 wins and dont think it will be a private that ends their season
Booger just sayin
Did you read my first post? as i said! Fairview would be my pick if it was between public school without open enrollment
-
was it a private school or public school that ended fairview's season last year
Booger just sayin
was it a public or private that that won the state last year?
-
Hard to stop 4 of Em with Brown a decoy.Dalton Whitfield will be all region on defense.
Dont tell us all your secrets!
-
New for Waverly. they should compete well in 2A. pretty young team this year tho! Thursday should tell a lot
-
He is football smart for sure.. and a heck of a athlete....fast and quick
Coach Rice will be able to coach him to where he needs to be
-
hard to pick a winner fairly in 3A with the open enrollment and private schools mixed in! sad to say but the public schools wont be in the final. Fairview would be my pick if it was between the public schools
-
Scrimmages this week coming up should start to show a lot of teams how their season will be!
-
Thursday should show a lot about what the tigers season will be! ready to see the pads on these boys
-
I dont need any faith or predictions for this statement its a fact! Lets call it 3 and 17 which is what the record actually is in the last 20 meetings
http://camdenlions.com/lionslineage/
In all seriousness I think we are going to have our way with ya'll this year.
i am ready to see these 2 teams compete. im just glad that i can say that now. been a long time since we have been able to compete

I'm just sincerely curious. What is the purpose of this thread, highlighting how bad a given team was? Just wondering what the point was? If we highlight a great team, we are making a point of how good they were. So if we highlight a bad team, are we just plain making fun of how bad they were? Just wondering what the thinking or point on this thread is?
yea i think that bigD just likes to look at the negative side. he doesnt look at how the boys that worked hard and sweated felt after that season of loss. come on bigD give them boys a break and quit bringing up the bad things in their life
