Not a Summers hater at all.. He was a great high school player.. Probably the second on my list As far as running backs go.. In my opinion, he's number two behind number one...

Summers was head and shoulders above any back Oak Ridge has had. Gulmire was awesome especially aganst Farragut but who can forget the games Summers had against Knoxville Central and Gallatin. That guy deserves to be mentioned with only one other player, Jackie Pope.

 

I must add my father (RIP) always said Dave Griffith was the best. When I was at ORHS from 1979 - 1982 my favorite was my friend Kim Pettus.

Spence was a great LB, but best ever is stretching it JMO. Been a long line of top notch LB's come through OR through the years. I can't remember if Caldwell played LB in HS, but he went on to have a really good career in the NFL as a LB. Eric Thomas(All ACC @ GA Tech), Johnny Burgess, Brad Redmond, Summers, James Mitchell, James Cobb, and the list goes on. Speaking of Jackson. As an 8th grader he had the build already of a HS kid. That kid is going to be scary on a good weight program.

What they did in the NFL,/college is great.. What they did in high school may not have compared to number one

Caylin? That the last name or first? Allison isn't what I would call slow, but he definitely isn't what I would call fast. Summers wasn't even what I would call real fast, but I would take him over any back I have ever seen at the HS level because he was tough as pine knot! Gulmire as well. They were just different colors, but so similar IMO. Both were the best Linebackers on their respected teams too, which makes them even that much more impressive.

number 1 was great as a running back - but he was a beast at LB. maybe the best ever.. I could be wrong, but I think Jackson and Simpson will be needed to help carry the load next year .

Has got to be the first time in our storied history that a Sophomore has made All State and All American? I bet it's the first time ever in this area where two Sophs have made All American (Higgins & Blackmon from Maryville) Quite the accomplishment for both guys. Never dreamed Tee would be an All American in the 10th grade when I watched him play at Robertsville his 8th grade year. Awesome feat.

He may end up being the best player ever at OR. By the time he is through .

Congratulations to Tee Higgins, Jemiah Hall, and Brandon Bonds for making All State. Their pictures will be put up on the Wildcat All State wall of fame. Great job fellas.

We've got to be able to throw the ball more Cats. Look what happened in the Rhea Co game... They stopped our run and we couldn't do anything until we opened it up late in the game. We had 200 yards passing in the game and 90% of that came late in the 3rd and 4th quarters and that's when we scored. A balanced attack will most always work better than a one sided attack.

 

There is no way you are saying lets not get the ball in Tee's and our other receivers hands ???

Ravenwood ... wow , everybody was totally wrong about you guys , what an Awesome team , and what a bunch of Classy Coaches , Players , and Fans you guys had . I believe RavenWood may have been the Classiest team we've ever played in the State Championship game . They reminded me a lot of Siegel in 2012 . As I was leaving the Stadium , I ended up being right in the Middle of a huge crowd of Ravenwood students . I actually felt terrible for them and was trying to think of something to say to console them , but just didn't know what to say . If ever another team deserved the Championship Trophy more , I can't think of them . Thank you Ravenwood Fans , Coaches and all the Players for being a part of one of the greatest State Championship games Played in Tennessee .

 

Maryville Coaches and Players .... WOW !! I swear being a Maryville fan you can't help but think you've been in a fantasy dream these last 16 years or so . Just when you think you've seen it all , Maryville comes up with another Miracle again and again . These Coaches and Players apparently NEVER ... and I mean NEVER think they are Beat . There were so many heroes in this game Like TD Blackmon , Richie Koons , Dylan Jackson .... but the entire Team not losing their belief was the Real Hero last night . What a Privilege it is to be a Maryville fan and to be able to watch these Coaches and Kids continue to work miracle after Miracle . Any Maryville fan who was watching last night and thought the Game was over when it was 28-7 just hasn't been paying attention , I will always believe in this team until the last second ticks off .

"We" had no problem accepting congratulations after the game was over , but "WE" was no where to be found when "WE" were down .
