People who spout mistruths like this are why our country is in the state it is. The ball went 10 yards on the kickoff. Also, before you tell more lies, it was a fumble on the last drive by HC. All you have to do is watch the replay on NFHS, it’s pretty clear. HC simply blew it.

Like I mentioned I listened to game that’s what the announcers said. No dog on hunt, hope Page wins and brings championship to Middle Tennessee but I think HC was best team and I don’t particularly like them.

  2. No dog in this hunt but listened to last portion of game. HC is like the NE Patriots around here because their program is so strong year end and out. For that reason alone I was pulling for Page but I have to say that many factors led to loss

    The clock malfunction

The onside kick that was touched before 10 yards

The dominant line play that HC scored so fast allowing more possessions for Page

seems it was a strange conflux of issues that allowed Page to win they probably were not the best team last night.

I feel for the teenage young men that probably should have been in championship next week

  3. Got a good feeling about this game (not sure why). Henry is talented, well coached and a good ball team... Anything can happen and I believe the boys come out ready to rock and roll.

     Cats 27 - Catfish 23

This slighted edited post came from the Murray Racers fan board regarding the APSU-Murray game Saturday which I will attend, its aspirational on both boards, a little fun. Wishing the purple and gold well against the best program around the area

  4. I think HC wins this one, but it will need to play a good game. CHS is a good team this year and very well coached. As HC doesn't lose at home very often, they should win as they appear to have much more talent.

The Northeast/CHS game and the Northeast/HC game should be highlights of season along with this game.

  5. Saw the game last night. I felt RHS much improved over first week play. Christian county much higher caliber opponent. In fact, if you exclude turnovers, which of course you cannot, RHS outplayed them. Having said that, can never win with 6 turnovers, way too loose with ball, perhaps due to inexperience.

Line play, QB play much improved.

    team has some talented athletes.

Great game tonight. Rossview will be fine. The biggest difference tonight was one team that has been in the same system for 4 years now, and another that is one game into a new system. RHS has some tough opponents ahead, but will get better with each game.

Cannot win at that level without some sort of opening up the field with at least a passing threat

  7. It was a great game last night, give credit to Coach Shelby for turning around an historic program that had lost the know how to win in recent years. I am pulling for them rest of way.

As a CHS graduation and RHS parent, I do have to say that is my last game at CHS until improvements are made to seating accommodations. The conditions are very bad and much need of improvement, I left at halftime. I know they have some resources, time to spend them, frankly the supporters should pitch in.

RSH is scrappy, I am betting Coach Lambert will put them back on track in march towards playoffs. They know how to win and work hard, still a lot of football to be played.

Need both programs to win next week, send the big county schools back to country with something they are not used to, a loss when they come to Clarksville.

  8. Answers to questions/comments in no particular order

Band was great musically and disciplined, it was funny to see the scramble to their instruments when Rossview got a turnover to start playing

Never said they were playing ghetto music of any kind, go back an re read...suggested that type of music as a possibility from the PA as an alternative ( many of my African American friends taught me the term, not original to me)

Expectations of my visit were set by former Memphis residents who said it was a great place to be from and not go back there, happen to disagree with them now having visited the area

My schools were all about 50 percent of each race, best friends remain that way...still cannot understand how the government there allows lack of integration, hurts all people, it's called busing....I road a bus for 12 years

Our coaches are mostly African American, terrific coaches best in school history

Best to WH , perhaps you all might make a trip to Rossview sometime

Regarding the class statement, I was raised in a different time, where such behavior was frowned upon, and I guess still is in some quarters...as another noted , some would say it's the different way....I personally think we are letting the children down and sending wrong message, but that's one view as I stated

    Sure has been entertaining

  9. unfortunately I used to and I'm still proud of where I came from and where I'm at now. Quit making excuses and get it together...

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by the WH school, area, stadium and overall atmosphere and very good football team. Also not making excuses, just stating facts.

As I noted before, best to WH and all the remaining teams, especially when they leave Memphis

  10. Lack of class?? What the difference between a hundred people playing a instrument and a hundred fans with the cowbell?

Can't recall seeing 100 fans with cowbells, but I guess it would be similar if the cowbells had a faculty sponsor , were in uniform and had school issued cowbells, marched into the game in formation without paying admission.

Better still, why not have PA blast ghetto music during oppositions play calls?

  11. My statement didnt really contradict any facts, and the purpose of it didnt have anything to do w/ facts, but fact remains, if you think your team lost b/c of the band playing, that is rather laughable, and I believe it is about time to let it go b/c it sounds like you are making excuses. I dont really care either way, so carry on sir.....lol

    Good night Irene

  12. I would think it would be about time to let this go, I am sure ya'll didn't lose this game because of the band and if you say you did you will probably get laughed off the board.....

    Dear Kevin38,

What I stated was factual, if you go back and read you will see that. Regardless of what anyone opines or laughs, facts remain.

A band playing loudly when opposite team is calling snaps is classless. It is illegal at the college level and other state's high school level. As another said, I wouldn't want my child taught that way, but as even another said, it's their way and a few others as well.

Facts remain facts regardless what another opines.

  13. I'm in the minority of out-of-towners that enjoy the band playing like that.  As far as I'm concerned, all bands should.  You see it in college football.  Adds to the atmosphere. The players feed off of it.

Incorrect statement, here is the rule from the NCAA...additionally other high school states have outlawed the classless practice, Georgia is an example.

"Persons subject to the rules including bands, shall not create any noise that prohibits a team from hearing its signals...."

The penalty is 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct, based on Friday night, WH would have had about 35 of the penalties.

Enough said, best to the remaining teams, WH will need it when the leave Memphis

  14. Lack of class!!! Dude please. .. on this side, bands are very popular. We have jamborees and battle the bands on a regular. That's is a national championship band you were fortunate to see and hear.. they come to play not sit and watch. obviously you're not use to bein around class acts for you to say we lack class. .. you lack class for all this whining you doin

I simply made an observation, friend.  Best to WH in the future away from home.

  15. Good to see some people have a different viewpoint, until they make a rule saying it's unfair and punishable I don't see anything wrong with it. We're used to it here in Memphis and like u said playing going to play in college will definitely have to get used to it. Ridiculous that some people trying to say we're using the band as an unfair advantage

I wouldn't call it ridiculous, I would call it lack of class. I noted our coach waiving our band down when they started emulating the WH band, pretty proud of him.

Having said that, the WH team doesn't need that kind of support...they are good

  16. This game was close only because of our Penn mistakes. our defense was playing shut down football. We had 3 turnovers, 1 inside the 10yd line. We missed a easy FG. Rossview is a pretty good team but we should have won this game by 3 scores easy. The offense they run was not gone score alot on our defense..no way!! But it is what it is....we don't use our band to make noise people. bands from this area battle in the stands all the time. They just play and to help keep the crowd and the atomosphere live....

I guess the game looks different from the home side stands, Rossview had time run out on WH 1 yard line in first half and missed a FG as well. As was just said earlier, once they have to play an away game, we will see how good a team they are against another mid state or east state team

  17. Just got back home. Game went about as I expected and predicted. Overall except for loss (go ahead score with about 15 seconds to play) and missed opportunities in the game which should have led to two more Rossview scores, it was an enjoyable experience. Good crowds, well behaved. Except for the band, they clearly played throughout every Rossview possession and likely contributed to a missed snap that led to WH only first half score. I am not sure about the rules, at one time I think this would be a penalty on the home team, but apparently not, because they banged on a dozen drums and tubas literally every Rossview possession becoming silent while WH was on offense.

Other than the band, great atmosphere and high school football game and WH has a very good team.

This is taking things a little too far IMHO.  EVERY city has its share of problems, INCLUDING  Clarksville, (I graduated from APSU so I know first hand what I am typing about)  Be very careful when you point a finger at someone because when you do three fingers are pointing back at you.

    You are kidding right?
