  1. You Alcoa fans slamming Rankin are crazy. Man has won 6 State Titles in 9 seasons. The truth of the matter is this. This was one of Rankins weakest teams at Alcoa. This years team was nowhere near as good as the 06'07'08'09'2010'12 and 13 teams. I also know Alcoa has loaded classes coming up. Believe it or not Alcoa has never been better than they have been under Rankin. I have seen lots of wins from Alcoa. I have also seen bad teams at Alcoa. I saw them go 3-7 12 years ago.

Yea we have loaded classes coming up, but it won't matter as Rankin will waste it with his one-dimensional offense. His son won't be able to kick many extra points, or even field goals, unless his daddy steps it up!!

  2. Pretty sure Alcoa attempted more passes than CPA.

The problem stems from Alcoa being very elementary on offense, it works ask the time except off you play teams as talented or more talented than you.

Yea but he completely abandoned the passing game until it was too late. Why in the world do you run a sweep with 20 seconds and no timeouts left???

I feel sorry for Kyle Malik Mitchell being thrown under the bus by his sorry excuse for a coach.

  3. Congrats to Ingle and the boys.

I'm disappointed at Coach Rankin with his remarks at halftime and post game. I think he threw his kids under the bus and never took responsibility.

Good luck to the Alcoa seniors and their future endeavors.

I agree. Like I said before with Rankin it's always someone else's fault. I feel sorry for his players having to put up with someone like that.

  4. Whoa, dude. Chill.

It's one thing to disagree with how Coach Rankin does things. Fans do that all the time at just about any program you'll find.

But there's no need to bring his family into this. They'd be really hurt if they saw that. Come on, man!!

I'm disappointed with the outcome, as are the fans, players and coaching staff, but that was over the top.

    Go Alcoa, Amen!

I don't care if they see this. In fact, I hope they do. Maybe his son should make himself useful for something more than just kicking extra points, or else he'll just add to the long list of his daddy's wasted talent at Alcoa.

  5. I understand the emotions are there....CPA is an excellent team...give the Coach Rankin a break...he has more wins that any other human in TN history...

I understand what you're saying, but I've given Rankin so many breaks through the years I'm sick of it. He wastes more athletes than any coach I've seen with his limited play calling.

I guess Rankin better start getting his younger son Zeke ready to kick long field goals in high school, because with his dad's play calling, we'll need whatever points we can get.

  6. This loss is Rankin's fault, but he'll never admit it. With Rankin, it's always someone else's fault. He sure didn't coach like the state's winningest coach tonight.

Rankin needs to drop his ego and add to his play book. I hate seeing those seniors go out like that with such horrible play calling from Rankin.

  7. Alcoas running back is good but running him 51 times in a game should be called child abuse. I wonder if he could pick up his 3 children when he got home to the town house Alcoas booster rent for him. Go Alcoa

    Wow, LOL!

Hey Tricky, don't try to drag everyone else down in life because you suck at it!

Time to hang that green hat up for the year, unless you're a ball boy for the basketball team, too. And how do we know YOU didn't send that person over to our sideline to communicate our play calls in to the Notre Dame coaches????

  8. Offense line, QB, FB & RB do not play defense. The second string QB does play second string DB. One LB will sometimes play FB. 2 DB's have run special plays on offense. No starters play both ways that I can think?

I thought maybe one of the linemen did, but maybe not.

  9.

Where are you seeing that? My computer says 59, calm, and 40% chance of rain. Perfect day for football and even some rain will not be a factor for either team.

BTW, you don't make it to the finals without playing smash mouth football. CPA's starting defense has given up 4 TD's all year. You don't do that without a little smash mouth.

We know what Alcoa can do and we know they have a great running game and back. We saw him last year and he was the difference in the game. It might interest you to know that Tyson ran the ball about 50 times last year and gained tons of yards, but we did hold him to less than 4 yards on 20 of those runs. I doubt if anyone other than Maryville did that last year or this year.

Alcoa did not have to play much pass defense last year due to the weather. They will have to defend it all this year.

Should be a great game. Winners like challenges and there is no greater challenge than Alcoa.

In other words this link right here. ^^^^

My Weather Channel app said 70% chance of rain Friday, but that's not saying it for sure will.

And yes, winners do like challenges, and winning state isn't easy regardless of who we play. CPAy is good, and I guarantee we won't have the mindset of entitlement since we're Alcoa or a mindset of an "easy" victory. We gotta earn that, but that's what makes it even sweeter.

  11. we made some quick strikes to get us somewhat back in the game and were looking to get 1 or 2 more; but the control of the game very seldom left the Tornadoes .......with that line up of studs, just can't imagine Alcoa not doing the same Friday.......Go CPA

    Go Alcoa!!

Outside that last line, I agree. There's no reason why we shouldn't be able to control the game with the studs we have.

  12. Good one! Welcome to CoachT, where Alcoa fans are seen as classless people who live through 17-18 year old kids while living on food stamps and government housing. I guess people just can't stand the thought of us supporting a team that steamrolls their en route to the state championship. Oh well....

Thanks. I guess I'll just have to embrace it and let 'em hate!
