  1. They are Oakdale kids but one moved to Coalfield this year the other went to Coalfield back in Middle school so no use in calling him an Oakdale kid no more.. but regardless Oakdale won & Oakdale has been Harrimans toughest competition this season because of the matchup I could see oakdale winning region.. Coalfields a great team they just don't matchup against oakdale well due to Maverick Smiths versatility in the post

    Winning Region?
  2. I don't think oakdale coalfield wartburg and jellico are that Far off from Harriman And Meigs Grace Is a lot better Than all them Wartburg only lost to harriman by 4 at home

I predict district 4 to go 1-3 come in 1st round come region tourney time , with no team advancing to finals , The big 3 in D3 are tough but after that it is a steep drop off!
  3. This could be Cleveland's year. Tons of buzz around this team right now.

After barely pulling out a win against single A Meigs County (who was playing without thier leading scorer and rebounder) on thier home floor I was not impressed at all with Cleveland after seeing them in person!

  4. Looking like this district is really top heavy, even more so than past years! After studying the Harriman / Meigs game tonight I feel like they are gonna decide your 2nd and 3rd place finisher.

I (sadly) predict GCA will not lose a game in regular season! I also think there isn't any other team in the district that can beat any of the above mentioned teams (barring serious injury) ! So from what I have seen in person meigs has a lot to due to take that second place spot ! GO TIGERS!

  5. Harriman came into Decatur tonight and did a layup drill on the tigers! Really exposed the Tigers lack of D which has looked great the past couple of games albeit against very subpar opponents! Hard to believe they won this game with the lack of shooters they have but I guess that don't matter when you are shooting layups ! Other than a couple of Meigs players , Harriman seemed so much quicker and faster up and down the court than Meigs. Meigs earned a chance to tie /win it at the end it just wasn't meant to be ! From a fans perspective Meigs has to start crashing the boards better we have 3 starters that really get after the rebounding and that's it period! Not gonna cut it when your tallest player is 6-2! Another bad habit that I feel like hurts the tigers are on ball defenders getting beat and the just drifting back towards mid court hoping for the ol. "Snowbird" looks really bad when the guy who beats you passes off and you have to run from out there to act like you were in the play! These tigers have a great chance to win the district but things have to change , the biggest change that would help in my opinion is effort! There are a few players who give relentless effort on both ends of the court while others just go through the motions or are pouting because something didn't go there way , get over it be a team player! This team has a great opportunity in front of them but all of them wanna have to grab it not just a couple players!! Time to go to work and get better! Congrats to the Blue Devils for winning at a place that only a couple teams have won over the past 4 years!

  6. Our bench has good guard subs and the post sub won't miss a beat. Can't imagine a quicker scorer and defender than Zy Moore for Meigs.

Sounds like it will be a very fun game to watch

Pulling for Hampton from Decatur , wish you guys the best!
  7. I guess I caught them on the wrong night. It seems as if they live and die by the jump shot. That will only carry a team so far in the post season before they have an off night.

Not sure how much ball you watch , but they have no weakness on offense really other than certain players not knowing when to stop shooting when they are off ! Now defense is another story!! But offensively to say they are one dimensional is a joke , come to Wartburg tomorrow night and I am will to bet 50% of the scoring is done inside the paint by multiple players!
  8. you're right 29-4 isn't that good. And you obviously haven't watched them much. They got a couple kids that get to the bucket as good as anybody around

30-4 now , hard to have 30 wins and not be good huh ! That statement the guy made really made me lol!
  9. I honestly don't think meigs is that good. harriman over meigs. I haven't gotten the chance to see oakdale play but I hear they have a good team. Excited to watch.

Due to the first 8 words of your post, I grant you the "idiot of the month award"😂😂 !
  10. With all fairness, it is Grace's turn to come up!

Seriously, we all have work to get done to sniff at a sub-state.

Hopefully we've got some things worked out and ready for a deep run.

Got fingers crossed we get a better draw if we make state this season....Playing UC 1st game last March and losing by 5 made for a long trip home

Nothing to be ashamed of there!
  11. say what you want, be as cocky as you want, but the fact of the matter is you're a decent to average team playing in a district isn't near as strong as it's been in the last decade. Rockwood and Midway both are way down, Harriman, yes harriman, is average to subpar, and this dang sure isn't the best Grace team I've ever seen. And if you win the region and run your mouth about that, then we'll talk region. When is the last time Oneida won as few games as they did? OS struggled, Sunbright struggled, Wartburg isn't the most talented but very well coached, and Oakdale has a decent team. Congratulations you put together what you feel is a world beating team in a down time of the region. You'll surely find that out if you make it to state.

Never said Meigs was world beaters, but they are one of the best single A schools this side of Nashville! To call the "decent to average" is laughable! When I mention a Meigs over Harriman matchup I am not being cocky, I am going with the facts of past history as well as making predictions! Since Meigs joined 3A Harriman is 0-7 against Meigs , playing them to a 10 margin one time and losing by 20+ the other 6 , so if Meigs is "average" how do you view your Harriman squad? I would be a lot more concerned with getting past Wartburg right now if I was a Harriman fan, and if that happens ,which I hope it does, then that will be the end of the rd, again this is just my prediction ,I base my predictions off of what I have seen this season and I just think that Harriman does not have the horses to play within 10 of Meigs. If Meigs wins Region , I will not be discussing it with you due to Harriman no longer being in the picture, due to the "not very talented" Wartburg team beating them or the "average" Tigers ending there season! Good luck!
  12. Dude you are only up 2-1 in our 5 game series.......to be continued.

"Dude" I was directing this to the Harriman fan who seems to be a bit intimidated by the Rams size! I was just letting them know not to worry , in order for Harriman to face them again they have to get through Wartburg and Meigs, which I really doubt is going to happen! And yes you are right we are only up 2-1, and if Zy doesn't pick up those cheap ones tonight we win by double digits just like our other win. Meigs is the better team , but not by much. And as far as some of the fans are concerned , you always have a couple of bad apples in the bunch, I apologize that it happened and I will tell you that 99% of the tiger fans have class to spare! Not sure if you have been on social media much but a few of those kids from Grace have potty mouths as well! Look foward to seeing you guys on March 3rd, hope you can make it!!
  13. I agree whole heartedly. He wasn't impressive tonight. But can he be as he gets more comfortable in the system? Absolutely. He is a 6'9" Sophomore who uses both hands well around the rim. Could adding him into the offense be a big part in Grace making a run? Absolutely. Hear me out. 44 is a banger. 41 is more finesse, can go inside and is very comfortable stepping out side. Posting 44 up makes room for 41 to get to the rim or shoot his jumper, opens up the WEALTH of shooters GCA has. 35, 5, 33, 21, all are really good shooters. Having two guys 6'7" plus in a district with no one else that tall is dangerous. This region tournament is going to be a lot of fun for people that love the game of basketball

44 banged his way right to the bench! Yes he is tall , but I watched a 6'1 170lb kid hold his own without a ton of effort! Zy would push him around on the block! I believe that Grace size bothers Harriman a lot more , no worries though, the odds of Harriman playing them again this season are slim to none, the short guys from Meigs will make sure of that if Harriman can get past Wartburg😉!
  14. That class is guard heavy also I dont think ZY plays with a high profile summer ball team. Connors TN Fury team place 5 guys on there. Summer exposure makes a difference on these type list and The Fury travels and plays some big time circuit and certified tournaments.

This 2017 class is so guard heavy. I dont think there are more than 5 or 6 guys 6-8 or taller on there. That helps Connor and probably also hurt ZY.

Hamilton Heights sure dominated the list lol

Zy plays AAU ball with Tee Higgins , I know they compete in tourneys such as the King James classic and such , being 5-10 prob hurts him alot, I have seen a couple of guards on that list play, and I would take Zy any day! He does have some games with min shot attempts at times so ppg suffer, but when feb. (tourny) time comes, he shines!
