  1. Takes wins to generate excitement in a place like Grundy, they are soaked in mediocre. Either he will get wins or he wont.

lol, the bryants are really bringing some excitement to bball.  I think we are 3-16 now.  the biggest excitement we've had is winning over dunlap. giving us the 3rd district win in 4 years.

  2. Well my good man truth be told the numbers for that particular age group were always low even in pee-wee. That is something that the neither the best high school coach nor middle school coach can fix in a small community. No matter who gets hired at this point it won't take all that long to determine if forcing a good man out will result in a dramatic increase in wins.

So until then we can just sit back and watch as the truth comes to light, was this an honest attempt at taking Grundy from good to great or just another example of small town politics and corruption.

well let's be honest felix, the Bryant's are not know to be the "above and beyond" coaches.  they have never helped in any kind of fund raiser. (the raffle has not happen in several years because football would not sell their part)  basketball or football.  they have never encouraged any participation at the middle school ball or basketball.  football and basketball workouts are a joke.  football especially is a year round sport.  starting workouts after dead period is not preparing players for the season.  starting conditioning a couple of weeks before your first basketball game is a joke.  these guys even hired a "assistant coach" just to mow the field so they wouldn't have to.  so lets face the truth, the Bryant's don't have a very good work ethic.  nothing to do with politics or corruption.  they don't spend the time that the job requires to have good teams.

  3. OK. I can't answer it then. I was talking about Mac. He did make calls. They were properly ignored.

del you seem to be the one with the "inside info". I heard sequachee hired Bryant and our qb is going with him, is this true. Do you know if they have any basketball openings down there.
  4. In the past 6 seasons here in GRUNDY we haven't won a game against a team with a winning record! With the TSSAA playoff system in place in my opinion is a joke! No team going 4-6 an has not got a quality win shouldn't even be considered for playoff contention. The first round of the playoffs is all about putting money in the TSSAA organization. All first round games are blowouts anyway. So when you try to give credit to a coach for that it is way over rated. I find it humorous that someone not from GRUNDY acts like they know more about our situation than the people from here. With that being said the beav is done with this situation. It's time to focus on the future and hope for brighter days ahead! Everyone have a Merry Christmas!

well beav, after reading mr ambassador's post, I'm convinced that you are the one the "round ball" family needs to talk to.   winning 4 or 5 ball games in football is bad but, in basketball, IT IS TERRIBLE!!!!  the best we've done is 6 - 27.  in the past four years.  I know it is not that we don't have talent we have plenty of it.  (and a lot more walking the halls that won't play for the current coach)  the coach is a really good guy and I'm not talking about his character.  but like his brother, he is not a coach.

  5. I agree winning a playoff game would be a success. I just dont see getting into the playoffs at 4-6 or 5-5 a success. I fault the TSSAA for the relaxed qualifying requirements, not a coach. However, with the last 6 years qualifying requirements, making it to the playoffs is a false indicator of success.

I hope we win 4 or 5 games this year.  after the win Friday we might be able to do a turn around

  6. He resigned. Character was not the issue here. People here that has preaching this a couple years back is shocking me by the comments that's being made! Not sure why the change of heart all of a sudden. But never the less I'm glad to hear of it. No football players has signed a scholarship to move on, and his record speaks for itself.

I'm totally lost......if he resigned, why some talking bad about our school board, principal, and director?
