  1. The lady Rebels showed us that they want to go back to state tonight. Final: 61-33. Impressive performance! Lamb showed everyone why she deserves Miss Basketball as she was unstoppable. Congrats girls and good luck to both the Lady Rebels and Lady Bulldogs on Saturday. Represent District 1 well.

  2. It would be great to see two District 1 teams at state. Good luck to both teams.

It would be great. Came close to it last year with North Greene losing by one. I think D-1 has an even better shot this year as long as everyone stays healthy.

  3. I was glad to see Tuelle playing. I expected a close game with her in it. Without her, I dont know if they could've pulled it off. Good game. Region finals will be a rematch of district finals with two district one teams advancing to substate.

  4. NV will press you..count on it! If Htown is down a key player I'd say NV big. We have cloudland a better game than I thought we would to be honest. I was surprised to see Hancock stay with Hampton the way they did even with Hampton being shorthanded. I'd say we will see NV and SG for the championship and I predict a good game from em.

I doubt Hampton will be able to handle their press. I haven't seen anyone successfully press South Greene, including Morristown West and Oak Ridge. They usually back off quickly. All of SG's players handle the ball well.

  5. And as predicted. South Greene defeats Washburn, Hampton defeats Hancock, Cloudland defeats Cosby and Northview defeats Unaka.

Semifinals will be played at Chuckey-Doak on Monday.

    South Greene vs. Cloudland

    Northview vs. Hampton

I think SG may have a better game this round with Cloudland than their previous two meetings. I predict SG will move on to the Championship round.

Is there a status update on Tuelle for Hampton? If she is out, I think Northview wins without issue. If she plays then I think it will be a close game. Hampton has a good team, but from what I've seen, Tuelle and Grubbs are really their only good ball handlers. If Northview presses they will turn Hampton over often without Tuelle.

  6. we(Cosby) host Cloudland friday...I dont think we will make it to CD ...unless we play the best we have played all season this friday Cloudland will end our season.

Gotcha. I'm not familiar with the mascots. Sorry about that.

  7. Northview is good! I think they could win it if they stay healthy and consistent throughout. Cosby is district 2's only other chance for a win. We are tough to beat at home this time of year but that would be our only advantage. We are pretty solid defensively just dont score very much. That being said as much as i would love to see us pull off the upset im afraid cloudland will be too much for us even at home.

    S. Greene is def the favorite but i think N.V. or Hampton either could upset em with the right break or two.

You will be hosting Unaka and then playing the semi finals at Chuckey-Doak.

  8. What's everyone's predictions for Friday's 1st round regional games?

    Washburn at South Greene

    Hancock County at Hampton

    Cloudland at Cosby

    Unaka at Northview Academy

I will take South Greene, Hampton, Cloudland, and Northview.

  9. And I can't find a complete list. I know South Greene had Coach of the Year: Steven Gregg, Player of the Year: Taylor Lamb and all conference: Braelyn Wykle and Lyndsey Cutshaw. North Greene added Katie Bolton for all conference and I'm pretty sure Hampton added Shyanne Tuelle and Alexis Grubbs.

For the tournament: Braelyn Wykle was MVP and South Greene added Taylor Lamb, Kinsley Wykle and Morgan Williams to all tournament. And again I think Hampton added both Tuelle and Grubbs if anyone can fill in the rest.

  10. South Greene came away with the district championship last night after one of the wildest games I have seen all year. Very poor and inconsistent officiating that saw both teams in the bonus five minutes into the 1st quarter. That would wind up hurting Hampton more than South Greene as the Rebels was more spread out. I was worried in the beginning with Cutshaw out, with an injury, that we wouldn't have the depth to cover foul trouble. I hope that Hampton's Tuelle isnt hurt at bad as it seemed. My heart went out to her and I know it worried her teammates.

I will post the all conference and all tournament after I check all the names.

  11. Grace Christian is playing for the 3 or 4 seed tomorrow, I don't see them going for in region play, Oneida will have to travel to Meigs or Tellico, it will be hard for them to live there with a win, Meigs will be hosting Hampton and Tellico to SG.

I've not felt confident in making a prediction for region two as last year we heard Meigs all year and wound up with Midway and Harriman, but yes, Telico Plains and Meigs sound like the most likely contenders unless there is an upset from district 4.

  12. My team, chs are not world beaters either but they should have run the table this year. District 1 is as weak as I've ever seen it. On another note, your no.11 is a fine player. I observed that against Hampton last night

Yes, it was definitely a down year for the entire district.

  13. It's hard for me to look at this and see anyone say that South Greene is awful. I think the biggest problem this team has had is that they never found their team. They haven't learned to trust one another or even themselves. The confidence just doesn't seem to be there. Hall is a standout. No doubt. And then others have shown glimpses of greatness at times. If they could ever come together and learn to be a team, then I think they could be competitive. It's a complete mix up of players who haven't played together, consistently, ever. We are looking at the finals of district play and I'm still wondering who will start Monday. I think the future is bright for SG in a year or two, but I'm sad that the seniors won't be a part of that.

  14. No

No doubt SG is the favorite this year. They are still the champs until someone knocks them off. I see the list of teams you've beaten and I don't see any teams from Middle or West Tn where the true power lies in Tn Girls basketball. East Tn is traditionally the weakest of all, but I will say that SG and Morristown West are quality teams. District 7A will bring back the gold ball again this year though. SG has had a nice run but it ends this year. You heard it here first :popcorneater:

You said that last year. The weak teams thing and everything.

  15. No, I have not seen Northview. I agree, they also have a good record but not so sure about the competition. Meigs will be tough, especially at their place. I think South Greene is the only District 1 team with a great shot of defeating them at Meigs. However, I would be shocked if South Greene isn't hosting sub-state at home. The other District One teams would have to play lights out, but it isn't like it is impossible.

Nothing shocks me anymore. As an SG fan, I am more confident in their ability substate on, than I am district. Everyone in the district knows our style well enough to prepare and if caught on an off night, the lady Rebels could find themselves with a loss. I'm hoping they are on their game this tournament.
