Mitchell will not lose. They have adjusted to the arena and are on a mission. Nobody has the talent to stay with them AND they are extremely well coached and disciplined.

Gibson County should have made state this year and had every opportunity by playing at home. Sub state could have been GC worst game of the year. I wish GC could have made it to get the girls some experience on the big stage this year going into next year. It would have helped to get the nerves out, like what happened in sub state.

 

Middleton & Gibson County will be the favorites next year out of West Tennessee to make it to the glass house.

 

Pickett County and Clark Range will be the favorites out of 7A next year for state.

They don't give trophies based on who should of won. And you do realize gc lost to riverside at HOME then they lost by 26 to Oliver springs then they lost by a lot to clarkrange so riverside may have been worst team at state which means gc had easiest substrate game which was at gc

State tournament play is all about matchups, gameplans and coaching. E-Town ran into the perfect storm with Westview. They matched up well, had a great plan and a very good coach. Add that to maybe slightly taking them for granted and you get a near loss. I look for them to rebound (pun intended) big time today and win easily!

That's been said for the last 2 years. "Wait till next year." Sounds like cubs fans in baseball lol. GC will be favorite to win district but questionable if they can get to state and do anything there. Different level there, west tn districts will still be down compared to others around the state even with Bradford and Peabody getting better and Dresden and Gleason returning important pieces.

The way I see it is there are 734 high schools in tn. 24 are all that remain at this point. Both teams have a right to be proud. I know we are definitely the underdog here. Union city fans should be proud of their accomplishments and history. You guys don't know how bad many of those 734 schools envy you guys. You all routinely have great teams where the rest of us hope to have one of those years every 15 years. Any time we have a team that can compete with you guys we are very excited. You all might win 9 out of 10 times we play, but there is always a "chance". We are proud of our boys and you all shod be too. But please do not belittle us or expect us to just lay down. We will give it our all and let the chips fall where they may. Be proud, not arrogant.

Union city would go undefeated every year in the regular season if they had hamptons schedule. If they play 100 times Union city will win by double digits 100 times. Get ready for beatdown

Elizabethton doesn't like the pace Westview is playing. I said it would cause them problems. Flippen is playing great early. If Westview keeps this pace, I say they win it by 7

In a training session for officials many years ago, the individual leading the session told us...umpires and referees can be grouped into one of three classes. Those who do it for the money, those who do it for the power, and those who do it for their passion of the game and participants. He encouraged us to be a part of the last grouo, but expressed that the passion group was, unfortunately, a very small minority. In spite of your false assurances, I long ago lost track of the number of those who are doing it precisely and exclusively for the money.

 

Incidentally, in spite of your claim that they don't make the rules and are there to enforce them...you didn't bother to find out if they were actually enforcing a rule or creating a new one that doesn't exist. Your reply "might" have a little bit of credibility if you did a little google search and quoted an actual rule rather than just being snarky using incorrect assumptions

Like I said, I have said congratulations to Riverside and I will be pulling for them. But when the commissioner of the TSSAA says you were OK naturally you have questions. There were lots of calls that were very questionable and got our best players in foul trouble quickly. There were lots of walks and carries that wasn't called. But, we didn't play well and didn't handle adversity. We will be back strong next year.

Decatur is in the state tournament for the first time in 42 years, and we see all these posts from some guy bashing one of the most knowledgable girls high schools sportsperson in west TN.

 

Congrats to Riverside on the win! BUT if they played Gibson Co 10 times, Gibson Co would win 8-9 of those games. It was Riverside night, and they get to go to the glass house.

I told McNeese about the Nike logo and he said it was fine if they were the same color and not over two inches thick. For that matter, kids could turn them where the logo is not shown. McNeese said they were OK. I agree. Riverside played hard and I will be rooting for them. They will have to shoot the ball much better than last night to have any chance.

West tn has the best boys basketball teams in boys from single a to triple a but this is girls forum. West tn girls has a lot of parity but they don't match up with middle tn . look at past champions . union city is only 7a team to make state in last 5 years and they have one state title. Let's see how many middle tn schools have trophies
