Sucks dude just gets on here and troll every week. I’m all for fun but sometime it’s cool to get some decent takes on football. Mt Juliet has never did anything in football I’m just being real.
They had a really good team in 2018. Put Blackman out of the playoffs and gave Oakland all that they could handle. Had 3-4 D1 players. They have struggled though since Green Hill has opened. DCA and Friendship get some of their players as well.

Blackman talent was divided with rockvale
Yep. Ravenwood was split with Nolensville, Smyrna with Stewart's Creek, and on and on it goes. It takes about 3-4 years to recover. MJ will be fine. Blackman has recovered as well.

I'm going to hijack this thread with a question, since Blaze has already gotten his answer, and you're willing to assist. I know very little about Wilson County football, you guys had a good run a few years back (I remember you beat Blackman in the playoffs?). What has changed? Coaching? Zoning? It just seems like something changed - you were on the verge of winning a championship, now it's like 3 / 4 loss each year since that high water mark.
Green Hill High School opened up 2 years ago and divided up the zone and therefore the players.

I think what MJ is trying to say is that it's hard to tell how good Blackman really is, because they haven't beaten anybody with a winning record this season.
Before anybody gets upset at that statement, I'm not throwing shade. It's just the truth. Having said that, Cookeville only has 2 wins this year. Blackman wins easily.

Like I said before, the Oakland QB is half of Oakland's offense. They use him like Tebow. If he is out (and nobody is wishing that he is) and Blackman still can't win, then they never will as long as Creasy is the coach. Having Taylor back for Oakland is huge, but he is only 5'9". Blackman has a 3 star 6'4" TE, a 3 star 6'3" WR, and a 4 Star 6'1"WR.
As it was mentioned earlier this game will be won in the trenches not the edges. Advantage Oakland

Today's recruiting is all about 7v7 tournaments, camps, and handlers. Ultimately the head coach needs to be promoting the kids and sending tape. Like what Coach Williams has done for Arion Carter. Carter received little interest as a RB, but once colleges saw his tape as a LB, his recruitment blew up! I'm sure once College coaches see his tape, the offers will come in.

Oakland has something a lot of teams don’t, big mean trench play. Blackman just isn’t there yet in the trench game and linebacker play.
Truth!

It looks like Oakland QB may not play this week. He is half of their offense. This is a huge advantage for Blackman. If he doesn't play, and Blackman still can't beat them, they never will. Not as long as Creasy is the coach.
-
It will be close at the half, but Oakland will pull away in the second half. For once it appears that Blackman has more star athletes than Oakland, but in the end coaching will win the game.

A lot of truth on this thread. Tygard has done a good job with this team. They are much improved from last year. The season is halfway over and I'm looking forward to seeing how the Blaze finish the season out.

Well lets put that in perspective... Riverdale, Gallatin were both undefeated when we played them so, I wouldn't exactly say they beat a bunch of loosing teams... That same argument could be used for Siegel and Rockvale... (who lost to Smyrna and and only beat Riverdale, scraped past Lincoln County and Siegel and Lavergne While Siegel beat a Lebanon team who and Green hill...
Thanks for proving my point. I'm not sure how good Siegel and Rockvale are either. We'll know by the end of the season, who's really good and who isn't.
Championship = Elite
Semi Finals = Great
Quarter Finals = Really Good
2nd Round = Good
1st Round = Average
Didn't make playoffs = Not good

Currently, the winning percentage of Blackman's opponents is 40%. Not really sure how good this Blackman team is yet. They really need to develop a running back and strengthen the middle of the defense.
-
I'm assuming that Blackman is a heavy favorite. How does this game play out?
-
Just my 2 cents. If you had Creasy and his staff coach Blackman's or Riverdale's teams the past 7 years, he would have won 2-3 championships at either school.
Do they have players? Definitely, but so does Blackman and Riverdale. Blackman has had 3 power 5 players, a Mr. Football finalist, and a bunch of FCS players the past 5 years. Heck, they have 3 power 5 players on this team alone. Riverdale has had a Mr. Football finalist, multiple FCS players. A couple of D1 players and the current top recruit in the state.
Oakland wins because they have Creasy. Riverdale and Blackman both have more college talent on the field this year than Oakland.

Great win for Blackman and probably the biggest win in Tygard's career as a HC. Onside kicks and trick plays went in Blackman's favor. Live by the sword, die by the sword. For now, Blackman is living by the sword. This win proves that Blackman is back as a to 10 team. Finished 2019 as #6, I believe, so good to see them back in the top 10. Happy for the players. They've worked really hard!

I think that Riverdale's length on the edges will give Blackman some trouble. Blackman hasn't played anyone with Riverdale's team speed yet this season, so it will be interesting to see how they adjust. Marshall being out this game hurts Blackman.

In a well run program, 75% of your starters should be Seniors. Which means that you should only be returning 5-6 starters from year to year.
-
In this league, whoever wins in the trenches wins the game. Oakland's line play on both sides of the ball, gets overlooked but they play with the best technique than any other team in RuCo. That's the key to their success. Blackman is fun to watch, but whoever blocks and tackles the best will win.

Thank you, but this is the Thursday Rivalry game for East Tennessee. I am looking for the middle Tennessee lineup of games for MyTV30 in Nashville.

Does anybody know this year's schedule?
-
Yep. Sorry about that. He was a class of 2022 prospect.
-
How did the BGA QB look? I think he's committed to play at Missouri next year.
-
Is there a more talented roster in 6A than what Blackman has? 4 D1 receivers, a college bound QB, and 4 of the 5 starting OL returning. This roster is absolutely stacked! Anything short of making it to State would be a disappointment.

Chandler is doing a fine job this year on offense. What do the insiders think he will do about this atrocious defense?
That completely depends on him. Defense is all about preparation. How much time does the defense watch film? Does the players know the other teams formations and plays that are run out of those formations? How much time is spent with the defense going up against the scout team? How much time is spent on 1 vs 1 on the inside run game to toughen them up? I have no idea, as I've never been to a practice. It appears they spend the bulk of their practice time working in the offense. Also, when your defense is not playing well, the OC needs to help them out. Offense passed the ball 90% of the time against Stewart's Creek and Rockvale. Gotta run the ball to give your defense a break. Defense would hold up for a quarter or two and would then get gassed. Just my thoughts.
Any footage or scouting on Cookeville

I remember that 2018 team made it to the quarter Finals. Got beat by Oakland at the end of the game. What years did they make the Semifinals?
