After tonight I'm impressed with DB and I don't see anymore 6'6 d1 wideouts ... So DB should win this game big and go 8-2 (sorry I jumped ahead) !!! DB impressed me with their fight to win even though they lost (I hope their heads are high ) !! Correct a few mistakes and they will be that much better !!! And heck far this team is young !!! There two big wideouts didn't beat us I think.They had that one TD pass and a few other catches but really nothing that put the game out of reach.To me I think #17 at QB should have got more reps.He looked like he could be a beast.Thought they didn't use #9 as much as they should.Both #5 and #9 was a lot bigger(taller) than the guys covering them and OR didn't seem to want to take advantage of it.At first site I thought those guys would kill us,But I think the OR coaches didn't use them.Would love to see those guys in maroon and grey!.

Let me help everyone with this. If you combined South, North, part of Central, you would have a good ball team, but you would not have one that could get past round 3. That number would put them at 6A, which would be back with Science Hill, DB, Oak Ridge, etc.

 

The majority of the team would still be what we consider the South kids, maybe a couple of improvements at certain spots, but not enough to absolutely dominate from the get go. Add in a much better feeder program and youth program, bring in good coaching all around. We are looking at something around 2024 until you had a team that could compete with DB and SH. Use your heads, the best kids are playing already at South, adding a bunch of kids around them is only going to move them from 4A to 6A.

The kids that have been on the team the last couple yrs are going to have the hardest time.Getting use to, not having a down week.And no disrespect to DC,VOL and those teams.They were overmatched.The new conference is pretty straight across the board,of course putting Maryville above everyone else.This season should also be teaching the underclassmen how to stay the course and keep grinding and know they have to come to play every nite!

Myers has never played any varsity action besides some garbage time vs Volunteer last year.

How's his arm?,Is he a good size QB?
