We scrimmaged Jeff Co in the last 17 years haven't we?

Yes.  Maryville scrimmaged at Jeff County last year or the year before.

One of the changes Coach Riley implemented this year at Jefferson County is that we don't have any players going both ways. Of course, we don't have Chaton Mobley.

Jeff County's home stands face the sun (smart thinking, right?).

 

I've always wondered how they let that happened. 

The new lights are working great.  Looking forward to seeing how our boys compete against Maryville.  It will be strange seeing Coach Cobble on the visitor's sideline. 

It wasn't very pretty but Jefferson County wins 40-22 over Carter.  Got very lucky that a couple of tipped balls bounced our way in the first half.  Took control in the second half until the backups gave up a late touchdown.

Who do you like in this one?  Carter lost to Halls 27-23 last week while Jefferson County defeated GCA 31-14.  I believe I heard that Carter played a freshman quarterback against Halls.

He helped during spring practice but I don't think he is now.

I couldn't believe they went for that fake punt when they did.  

Jefferson County defeats GCA 31-14.  The score was 24-0 going into the 4th quarter and was stretched to 31-0 before the backups came in and gave up two scores to make the final 31-14.  

I'm sitting out here at Grace watching a MS game. They just told their fans to get here early because they expect their biggest crowd ever. Get here early. There aren't many seats for a 6A schools fans.

Jefferson County will travel very well for this game.  The stands will be packed.  We are going to try to get there by 6:00.

I heard Jeff. Co. also lost another senior starter on defense SD well.

Starting outside linebacker Brandon Brewer broke his arm in the scrimmage at Halls.  He had to have surgery to insert plates and screws and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks

Jefferson county lost their starting tailback for the year. I hate it for the young man it is his senior year.

Me too.  I was really hoping for big things from him this year. 

I predict Catholic will win but it will be by a touchdown or less, 24-20. 

I saw MoEast at the jamboree, if Fulton is a typical Fulton then its going to be ugly

ME did not look good in the Jamboree.  Fulton should roll.

GCA lost 22 seniors off last years team and to my knowledge they didn't get any transfers in which will make it extra tough. Last year GCA should of gave a better game but things just didn't work out that way. I was heading to the Heritage and Maryville game but since the QB for the Mountaineers will be out most of the season that game won't be worth ten cents to watch. I have a family member that is on GCA so I will most likely go to this game now. Jefferson should win big but in all reality this game should have never been scheduled in the first place.

You're probably right Barney but the overwhelming consensus last year was that Grace was going to win going away.  Of course, Grace was coming off a 10-4 season while Jefferson County was coming off a 2-8 season, their worst in school history. 

It sounds like both schools are in rebuilding mode.

When did Jeff. Co. Get some depth. The only depth the patriots have are sophomores.

Depending on some injuries, we could be starting several sophomores.

The Spencer Riley era at Jefferson County officially begins this Friday as the Patriots travel to Karns to take on Grace Christian Academy.  The Patriots handled Grace 48-21 last year but there are a lot of new faces on both sides of the ball to go along with a new offense.  Both teams will have new starting quarterbacks. 

I think the game could be close for a while but I'm hoping that in the end, Jefferson County's depth wears Grace down.

Didn't West lose a lot on defense?  If so, they may struggle.

Sorry, we left after Jeff County played.  They were first so we didn't get to see DB play.

I started to buy a copy yesterday until I saw that it didn't even mention my son who is Jeff County's only returning All Region player.

Jeff County beat Morristown East 7-0 in the IMAC Jamboree tonight.
